Looks to me as if 1.7 Far is the same as Normal with less fog

I suspect You're using Windows XP or your username has a space in it.
This error is fixed in the next version (3.2)

You forgot that Ocean is ID 0. Of the normal biomes, Frozen Ocean and Extreme Hills Edge are no more. And there are 21 rare variants - Mega Spruce Taiga 161 is probably supposed to be Mega Spruce Taiga Hills. They have a different color in AMIDST, but they look almost the same.
So all in all there are 59 biomes to explore. Yay!

There are two types of Mega Spruce Taiga and they can be quite large areas next to Mega Taiga.
JungleEdge M on the other hand can only be found sometimes in small slivers of terrain right next to the already rare variant Jungle M of the regular jungle which is not exactly common either.

I stand by my statement. JungleEdge M is rarest.

I tried to complete the achievement "Adventuring Time" by usind AMIDST to seek out all biomes and teleporting there, but it didn't work.

I'm sure I went to all biomes and all variants even "JungleEdge M" and both biomes named "Mega Spruce Taiga" but with different ids.

The only biomes I couldn't visit were biomes 10 and 20: "Frozen Ocean" and "Extreme Hills Edge", because they don't generate in this snapshot.
I suspect these missing biomes are the cause for my failure. I will file a bug report.

Trying to complete "Adventuring Time" I located all biomes and variants in AMIDST and went there.

There are two different biomes named "Mega Spruce Taiga" (ids 160 and 161) colored differently in AMIDST. The rarer color in AMIDST (probably id 161, because this is the variant of biome 33 - Mega Taiga Hills) lead me to a site with clay.


Oh and the achievement doesn't work.

JungleEdge generates Melons, I don't know about JungleEdge M.

I'm looking for a screenshot of the rarest biome in the new snapshot: JungleEdge M.

Jungles are rare now.
JungleEdge is a small transitional biome between Jungle and some other biomes.
There exists a rare variant of Jungle Egde called JungleEdge M (id 151 - tried it in Superflat Customized)

Has anyone here seen this biome? Even AMIDST 3.2 beta didn't help even though it now shows all rare variants too.

EDIT: I found one. Picture below. Also someone else uploaded another picture to the wiki.

What you're seeing is "Ice Plains Spikes". Where you're standing is "Cold Beach".

Windows XP, which means that there will be spaces in the %APPDATA% path.

Test: I started Amidst through a batch file, and it worked! It's just the spaces in the path that forks up everything.
