    Will we ever see red dragons and pigmen be added to minecraft? :/ I have some unique ideas of them that would make them stand out:

    Pigmen would not just be zombie pigmen reskinned and in the overworld, they could have little villages but also be in different hierchies/classes. Pigmen with tattoos all over their bodies could represent war chiefs, pigmen who are wearing wolf pelts (or creeper pelts?) could be berserkers, and pigmen with potions could be shamans. There could also be pigmen archers who just wear green leather caps. Their villages would just be simple little huts, mostly made of stone, and have some low tier loot in them. Maybe their villages could have mushroom farms too, with mushrooms growing inside pitch black rooms.

    Also, pigmen would use iron swords instead, and perhaps very rarely they would drop iron nuggets when they die. Not pork though, because then getting food would be too easy :P

    Red dragons would be like ender dragons, but they would spit fireballs. They should work on the AI so that they don't swoop in for the player, instead they circle overhead and spit fire at players. I've seen servers where the enderdragon does not fly into players but instead flies above them and spits fire, so if players can do it, I'm sure that the devs can :)

    Does anyone run or CAN anyone run a hack/mine server? All the ones I've found are 2 years old and dead, so I thought I'd ask here.

    Hack/mine is a mod part of the Technic Pack that makes the game into a more Diablo-like RPG. It adds races, classes, loot from monsters, a stat based levelling system, more enemies, dungeons, towers and all sorts of stuff that makes the game really fun.

    I've been having fun on single player hack/mine, but I was hoping to play on a server with other people. :)

    Why do you want to join? Because I prefer beta 1.7.3 -- during and after 1.8 the game was ruined. The game is so bloated now with nearly useless things, rather than containing only the bare essentials like it used to. Sprinting has destroyed the game difficulty because no matter how strong they make the monsters you'll be able to run away from them. The new bow mechanics also really suck.

    What are your favorite/best creation(s): A massive castle which I made in 2010 using inveditor.

    What type of skills do you have in Minecraft (building/redstone)? I'm okay at building, mostly I'll probably want to hunt animals/monsters.

    Why do you want to play Beta? Because I miss 1.7.3 and want to play it multiplayer again.

    How long have you played Minecraft for? 1.4 beta.

    Is there anything you would like to see on the server? I don't want the spawn to be griefed to hell -- no massive 1x1 towers or shattered ground. Floating griefed things look very ugly.

    Parrying isn't very useful in general combat. The reason why is because even though it blocks 50% of damage, it slows you down and knocks you back. You only lose half health, but you lose ground, and that's not worth it.

    So my suggestion is that when anyone attacks you in melee, be it a mob or player, and you're parrying, they get knocked back as if hit by knockback I. This would make parrying useful because then they're the ones losing ground if they attack while you're defending, and would bring a new element to sword combat.

    Also, if a person with an axe hits someone who's parrying, the axe wielder won't be knocked back. This happens because axes are heavier and will "break" the person's parry. Doing this will make axes be strategic for combat.

    I think that everything in 1.6 is very useful, but there's just one thing they really should do. They need to make land bigger and flatter so that you'd actually feel like using a horse instead of being able to just sprint to the end of a land mass in 10 minutes. Some other ideas I have:

    - a bow enchantment that makes bows fire faster

    - villagers saying things in chat and spawning with random names like John or Ted or Bjorn

    - zombies and skeletons sometimes spawning on zombie or skeleton horses (but mounted zombies should always have at least iron swords) they would try to ride circles around you while shooting/attacking you and give horses a reason to use for combat in SSP outside of the wither :D

    I think we need sharks to make oceans more dangerous, and we need whales too (Notch even said he might add whales.) We need sponge blocks too, those could be used to create large sponge-like formations and imitate some life. Sharks would be cool for adventure maps too because then you would be able to make people die when they go into water instead of needing lava, cacti or fall damage. Crabs that spawn in beach biomes and shallow underwater areas would be amazing as well. :)

    posted a message on MOB variation and MOB names (Naturally named MOBs will despawn)
    1. I think the MOBs should have names above their heads. For example, above zombies you'll see the word "Zombie" as if it's a player with that name. Same with spiders, ghasts, silverfish, creepers, pigs, wolves, every MOB in the game. But of course, the name will only show if the MOB is closeby.

    2. There should be MOB variation, and by that I mean the same MOBs should spawn with potion effects.

    For example:

    - A zombie with Speed would be named Ghoul

    - A spider with Strength would be named Tarantula

    - An Enderman with Regeneration would be named Enderwraith

    - A Wither Skeleton with Resistance would be named Wither Guardian


    They don't seem intent on adding new MOBs, so in the meantime this would be a nice idea. These MOBs would need to be rare though and other tweaking to the system would be required.

    I honestly prefer the villagers being unisex. It's funny, and you shouldn't have anything sexual going on in a game like minecraft -- if there were females, that stuff would come to mind and it'd be kind of creepy. :(

    Why haven't they gotten sounds yet? :( They should be easy for the devs to make! Hell, I made my own: http://www.mediafire.com/?6oi1fw34t32p45r but I don't know how to put them into the game D: It's been so long since villagers were added, yet they don't even at least give them player hurt noises...

    Pigmen should be tribal overworld MOBs that are neutral, but exist for you to fight if you want good loot or just want a challenge, like the endermen. They should also have wooden fortress-like villages on the surfaces that have lots of loot, but lots of pigmen to fight. They'd be like orcs and would be great for servers -- just plunk down some pigmen spawners and you've got a mob that kills any nearby hostile MOBs except for creepers. :)
