That's crazy. Hopefully Intel will fix the issues as the production of Ivy Bridge continues. Nobody wants a really warm and loud computer that keeps on overheating.
I live in a suburban area right now and have lived in a suburban area all my life, but I think I'd prefer living in an urban area. Urban areas a lot of times just have a lot more opportunities.
We're looking for some experienced players that want to join us for a three week long Survival Games series which will be recorded and published on YouTube.
The series starts on Friday, April 27th at 4:30 PM CT and should run for about a half an hour. We will continue the series on Friday, May 4th, and May 11th at the same time, for the same amount of time to complete the Survival Games.
Players
Only one player can win.
You can only break leaves and mushrooms.
You can only place blocks given to you, or found in chests.
Your inventory must be empty at the start of the series.
You cannot put out the fire at the spawn.
When you die you will become a spectator.
Cannot use any mods.
Spectators
Will have creative mode.
Can spawn in items to interact with the world and players.
Must treat players equally.
Cannot kill players.
Cannot destroy or place blocks.

ZL Studios is a consumer electronics news site founded in November of 2008 and has since grown to what it is today with over 60,000 unique visitors per month totaling about 120,000 page views per month. Like many others who are interested into technology we discovered Minecraft very early in development and were instantly big fans of the game. We then decided to launch a Minecraft server to continue our addiction with Minecraft, but also include our audience.
Server Specs
We run our server on a VPS from NFOServers. The VPS has three cores, 5GB of memory, a 5GB SSD, 3TB of bandwidth, and a 300GB HDD which is all running Windows Server 2008 R2. The Minecraft server runs off of McMyAdmin which has access to 2GB of memory, the 5GB SSD for the server, and the 300GB HDD for hourly backups.
Plugins
We have a lot of plugins on our server, but each and every one has a specific purpose. There won't be any lag caused by bad plugins on our server since we test them out before we use them.
Buycraft - It lets us sell Minecraft items in real currency, like tools, or armor.
ChestShop - It allows you to setup and use stores to get items.
VanishNoPacket - Just in case we want to spy on our players.
Factions
Our server is based off of factions. You can create your own faction or join another faction on our server. The three biggest factions on our server are Quade, Melon, and Ghetto, each one is managed by one of our administrators. Each one is also whitelisted so you have to request to join the faction. We've taken some pictures of each of the factions.

Donators
We really encourage donating to our server since it really does support us. It costs quite a bit of money to run a Minecraft server 24/7, donators help us pay for the server so it remains up and running in the future. To promote donating we have put together a list of perks that you get by donating a specific amount of money to our server. To donate just send money to the PayPal address of [email protected] with a note containing your Minecraft username.
Additionally we have a BuyCraft account where you can purchase things like diamond armor, diamond tools, iConomy money, and other items. The money you spend to get items on BuyCraft is sent to us and helps us continue to run the server.
I use GoDaddy and Namecheap for my domain names. The only problem with GoDaddy is that they have very questionable staff that tend to do things like kill elephants and support SOPA.
You could run some sort of website to the side and try to get a little money through advertising. That's what I do right now, I also accept donations which give users additional privileges.
Get a can of air and spray the fans of your laptop with the air and that should get some dust out of the system. But as long as the system is still running and isn't really overheating it shouldn't be all that bad for your laptop.
I will use LogBlock as well as following people around to see what's happening. I also use MCBans to see if people had previous bans, and I have a whitelist to prevent bots from getting on.
I'd suggest finding a host like NFOServers where you can get a 10-slot server for just $10 per month. Otherwise it doesn't take much to run a server for ten people, your Internet connection could limit you though if you have a slower upload speed.

Before the Core i3 system I had a server running off of an Intel Pentium 4 processor at 2.4GHz and with just 2GB of RAM and it worked just fine.
