It's possible, though I'm not an expert with commands (hence my finding this thread). I believe swords can be detected, due to their original blocking function, bows can be detected, and all types of food can be detected. You'll have to find a list of all the possible items, but almost anything with right-click functionality is detectable using the scoreboard tag "stat.useItem.minecraft.{item name}[data tag]" I'll have to do some testing when I get a chance, and I may very well be wrong about this.

I know I'm late to the party, but what about blocks? What would the command be to put blocks on something's head, such as an armor stand, for example?
