You mean ubuntu.
I had ubuntu once but it logged me out whenever I played minecraft, and no it didn't log me out when I played something else like gnomemine.
As the title says, I'm curious about if some of you have more than 1 OS (Operation System) and have seen the difference on the FPS on the different OS, I will begin.
My computer speqs is:
2.6 GHz Intel Celeron Dual Core
3GB RAM at 800MHz
nVidia GeForce GTX 460 with 768MB GDDR5
And also it's a desktop
The OS' I have is:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit
Windows XP Professional 32Bit
I use these settings in minecraft on both OS'
Render Distance: Far
Graphics: Fancy
Smooth Lightning: off
Advanced OpenGL: off
Limit Framerate: off
Both use Minecraft Version Beta 1.5_01 if someone is wondering.
On Win 7 Ulti 64Bit
I get between 30-60 FPS on average
On Win XP Pro 32Bit
I get between 80-130 FPS on average
So either I'm lucky with my Win XP or Win XP are just really good to keep the FPS in that range.
I also notice that Win XP renders the world faster than Win 7 does.
Now I have shown my average FPS on both win 7 and XP.
So now I'm curious on what your difference is on you OS'
Every time I begin a new world I build the exact same house every time.
The house is 5x5 floor (and roof) and the walls on the outside is 7 in length and 4 in height and is made of wood and it's location is almost always on sand, and contains a Workbench, Furnace, Large Chest and a Bed.
I normaly have 30-50 FPS and that's fine for me, but I always open my mouth when it hits 100-200 FPS.
I'm using Far | Fast | Smooth Ligthning OFF
Using my own texture pack at 16X16.
So yeah I'm fine.

I also made it to an ADX file so I don't to use the repeat button.

I'm using 64 Bit Java. (Isn't 64Bit installed automatically if you install java on 64Bit OS?)
I'm also using Java 1.7 and I installed 64Bit java.
