posted a message on What aree these? and how may they be avoided?

They are links the filter has auto removed.

A year or so back a youtuber decided to make a video telling people they can make money by making an ad link to other peoples videos then posting it on this forum, even since we have been spammed by people who think an ad link will make them rich, all it does is spam, the forum and get them banned.

The edit was most likely the poster trying to repost the link after the link was automagically removed on them the first time, some will edit their thread later to add a link thinking it will bypass the filter, which it doesn't.

Do report any posts with 'link removed' so we can deal with them.

Also youtube seem to not care that this video targetted this forum for spam and are yet to take it down

posted a message on Edition: Very strange sounds.

You heard ingame sounds, a sound from another app or something away from the pc, that's the only answer.

There is no magical thing in minecraft that can do what's not in the code or files.

Also note hoaxes are not welcomed here

posted a message on Why you should NEVER update your Mac with good Minecraft worlds that are not backed up

One of the many reasons out there you should make backups, not just of game saves, but anything you place any value in.

Also i removed the poll as this isn't a pace to have OS wars, minecraft java is the same whatever OS its run on

posted a message on i found a spawner in a mineshaft with nothing coming from it.

It could have been a pig spawner. Pig spawners are really rare and are all ways surrounded by cob webs and don't spawn anything. This happens when spawners generate on top of a chest.

pig spawners are not really rare, they do not spawn naturally, if you did get one its due to a bug

posted a message on Everything from Java

If it was that simple they wouldn't have made the bedrock version from scratch in c++ (or whatever language it's written in) in the first place, I'm guessing the console versions can't run java like a pc can due to the was the consoles os and hardware limitations

posted a message on Microsoft's recent move with the account migration PROVES they want to merge Bedrock & Java
    Quote from jredfox_»

they didn't kill java mojang and mojang4j did. Mojang initially released minecraft 1.0.0 in 2012. two years later the world gen is bad, 10 times more bugs after the initial release, startup time takes 3s more to launch, execution is slower codebase is generally more sloppy but somewhat less hardcoded. Microsoft buys it does nothing to the game till about 1.13 where they had somewhat more of a say. You can blame jeb_ for most of the bugs including high performance issues after 1.12x.

Micrsoft makes a re-write of the game, re-write of the game executes really fast low bug count, doesn't care about money eula part makes an in game purchase for money reasons big deal(sarcasticly says), xbox integration great news, join your friends online(mojang never attempted to even consider this), hardware exceleration, shaders, and now rtx with caves and cliffs. O and did I mention bedrock edition has almost always had interesting terrain generation different from java edition? something you didn't see in java till < 1.5.2 and some seeds in 1.5.

conclusion microsoft saved minecraft. in 1.2.5 and 1.6.4 where the most stable versions of the game by the way in java edition. yes things were hard coded but at least they worked. 1.2.5 before the client server merge and 1.6.4 after. Microsoft finished what mojang could not. if anything we should be greateful if they decide to compile a c++ version straight into java bytecode for modding purposes. because java edition is pretty much only used for ideas and debugging at this point they don't care a gaming pc that runs overwatch (high shading capacity) on 60fps won't get 30fps on default settings on minecraft.

Also one last argument. before microsoft the updates were to mostly "fix issues" with adding very few features while addon a crap load of bugs dropped each update possibly on purpose. Then Micrsooft has bedrock edition with very few bugs and pretty much only updates as a patch or yearly updates to maintain user base by adding more content like overwatch also does.

One big issue with your statement.... Microsoft have not re written the game, they own Mojang, mojang have been and still are the people who are making minecraft, Microsoft just pay mojangs bills and own the name

    Quote from Agtrigormortis»

In the case of Java edition, in bedrock edition frame rate doesn't show with F3 and you need a third party application or Windows gamebar to show it.

This is a discussion in the java section, so i gave the answer for java ;)
