    4. I really like trying to make abstract buildings while avoiding spheres and cubes and other simple shapes. It's quite the struggle for large scale projects especially.

    I know that F1 removes the inventory from the screen and F2 takes a screen shot. I also know that F3 shows a whole bunch of information like framerate and mob location. F5 I think shows the third person perspective, but I just found out that F8 causes the camera to smooth out when you're looking around. Does anyone know if there are other secret functions?

    Clever, but terrifying.

    yes, but that is what makes it fun! :tongue.gif:

    and it has yet to cause problems, I usually double check to make sure that no baddies are around and then simply stop building when it's raining.

    I use netherrack or dirt.

    I used to use netherrack but sometimes it feels like a waste of pick axes.

    Does anyone use sand pillars and then put down a torch under it to destroy it all? or what about leaves and shears? or gravel since gravel is otherwise useless?

    Since TNT no longer explodes when you punch it, I found that it is extremely useful for scaffolding, especially since it takes an instant to take down. The downside is that if a creeper or lava or a lightning bolt decides to zap you, you're pretty much screwed.

    Other than that, I use TNT for all my projects. :tnt: :tnt:

    Anyone else do this?

    I don't know about you, but I don't like farming for wheat. It takes too long and is too time intensive. I came up with a few easy tricks to get more delicious foods for just a little more prep.

    First off, cooked porkchop :Bacon: :Bacon:

    There are a couple ways to get this stuff. You can kill a pig and then pump raw meat through a furnace, you can brave the nether for a pigman, but my favourite way is by carrying a bucket of lava with me and pouring it all over the little piggies! If you set it down for a split second and pick it back up, it will light the swine ablaze and you will have made off with delicious profits!
    ________:VV:
    :Pig: + :Lava: = :Pig: = :Bacon: :Bacon:

    Once you've started mining for a while, you should come across:

    Mushrooms!! :Portabella: :RedShroom:

    These puppys will spread like a wildfire if given enough time. I've seen caves covered in them as well as elaborate mushroom farms. This in my opinion is a waste of time and space. I have a square of 4 of each mushroom generating enough mushrooms a day to give me a surplus of 50 mushrooms in case of a catastrophy! But honestly, each mushroom soup heals 5 hearts and all you really need are about 6 mushrooms in a dark cave, pruned every once and a while. Then you should be good!

    TLDR: Pour lava on pigs for an instant to get cooked bacon. Have 6 or so mushrooms to supply all your food desires

    posted a message on Vertical Ascension idea
    I have a design to create a compact and rapid elevator, but I am not a frequent redstone user so I want someone else to test my idea and see if it is at all efficient. I can use basic circuitry to elevate myself, but I know there is a more efficient way to do it.

    Here's a bad picture:

    Here's the plan:

    :Green: :_: :: :: :: ::
    :: :: :: :: :_: :Green:
    :Green: :_: :: :: :: ::
    :: :: :: :: :_: :Green:
    :Green: :_: :: :: :: ::
    :: :: :: :Pig: :_: :Green:
    :: :: :_: :Pig: :: ::

    Key:
    :: = empty space
    :Green: = sticky piston, pointing to center
    :_: = STAIR block facing towards the center
    :Pig: = Player

    The idea of this plan is that each stair block attached to a piston will push the player up the bottom stair block. After that push, the stair attached to the piston will be in the same position for the next piston to push the player up the stair, like so:

    :: :: :: :: :_: :Green:
    :Green: :_: :: :: :: ::
    :: :: :: :: :_: :Green:
    :Green: :_: :Pig: :: :: ::
    :: :: :Pig: :_: :Green: :Green:
    :: :: :_: :: :: ::

    and then:

    :: :: :: :: :_: :Green:
    :Green: :_: :: :: :: ::
    :: :: :: :Pig: :_: :Green:
    :Green: :Green: :_: :Pig: :: ::
    :: :: :: :_: :Green: :Green:
    :: :: :_: :: :: ::

    Each push lines up the next push up the stairs. I have managed to push myself quite a distance in a very short span of time so I think that this design is viable, Anyone want to test it out?

    If you need better visuals, I can try to make that happen. Thoughts?
