    As a current architecture student (2nd year, BArch, Syracuse University), I want to say that images from Minecraft, no matter how well-rendered they are, will not get your portfolio in at architecture schools. Most, if not all, want to see how well you can take something in real physical 3d space and translate it by hand and pen onto 2d paper. They want to see that you can do observational drawing from real life (whether that's buildings, the lamp on your desk, a shoe, the view outside your window, whatever), not images of things you've built in Minecraft that you think are good architecture.

    I am looking in to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and I have talked with the Deen of Arch. and admissions and they are curious to see what I have made in All mediums. They have said it is about seeing Creativity and potential rather that artistic skills and perspective drawings. I Don't know how The program at Syracuse is but at RPI it is all about making the best with your constraints; I am considering the blockey nature of minecraft as a constraint much like the building site, materials, and capital. I actually am doing a Portfolio review on The 20th so we will see what they say. for now I just want the best picture of the building but if your advice pertains to what i am advised while at RPI i will make sure to let you know! xP

    Impressive, good job. Looks like something you might see on Keralis' channel. Cheers! :D

    Thanks, That means a lot! XD

    Maybe instead of using shaders download a rendering program such as chunky, which can make the picture look way more realistic. You can replace the sky easily which in a lot of cases makes the picture look 10x better.

    I have not even considered it. I will look in to that!

    And to everyone else, Thank you for your votes and advice!

    Thanks,
    Vivo

    I Run a few servers but our modded was not used at all and really no one uses it because the mods are too much of a hassle. that is just our community but has anyone else experienced this?

    Amazing and huge! How long did it take you to build? I am shocked at what people make sometimes. Great job!

    it took me a couple days on and off but not that long compared to my recent builds. thanks!

    posted a message on Tellraw @r in 14W21b glich?
    Quote from Skylinerw

    This appears to be intentional (to some degree). Think of it like this, with "Skylinerw" and "vivosims" as the only online players:

    /tellraw @a {selector:"@r"}

    The above command is activated, finding multiple players to display the text to. Result:

    /tellraw Skylinerw {selector:"@r"}
    /tellraw vivosims {selector:"@r"}

    In this case, two instances of the /tellraw command is issued. The @r selector is parsed in two separate instances, meaning they don't necessarily have to have the same output. A method to overcome this is to assign a random player a score first, and then use the "selector" tag to select a player with that specific score:

    /scoreboard players set @r[score_Deaths_min=200,score_Deaths=200] OBJECTIVE 1

    /tellraw @a {selector:"@p[score_OBJECTIVE_min=1]"}

    oh ok. i understand. Thank you for the great explanation. +rep for you my good sir!

    Save for the upscale I don't notice (emphasis on notice) anything different from the default textures.
    You are correct that there is not anything majorly noticeable different about Minecraft Defined when you look at it alone. Minecraft Defined is to minecraft as a detailing is to your car. it is made to add a little more depth and a little more "Umph" to each block. when you look at your world with Minecraft Defined, it adds an extra level of detail not found otherwise. for an eye who does not attain any satisfaction small edits that i make i do recommend as you said to go for a fancier edit if your computer allows, as that is what appeals to you the most, but Minecraft Defined is tailored to those who do like the default textures but want a little more. I would like to thank you for your feedback Freedomna! if you would like to take a closer look please feel free to pm me with more specific details about what you do and don't see as this is a work in progress and any and all feedback is appreciated. :D Thanks, -Vivosims

    Hey Guys, I Have for you today an update with a lot of exciting stuff!
    Now Updated to V 1.8
    (for 1.7.X and snapshots)
    I have Revamped Wool, Added all new blocks introduced as of snapshot 14w21b and i have added compatibility with audio, language, font (etcetera) Resource Packs. all you do is put Minecraft defined at the top of your Resource pack list (in the resource pack menu in game) and then put in whatever audio, language, font (etcetera) resource pack below it. for those who do not know, it really means that i only change the textures and you can let other resource packs work together with Minecraft Defined to fully customize Minecraft to How You Like It!I am planning on pushing out a few small 1.8.x updates as time goes on so please be aware.
    Thank YOU for your support!

    posted a message on Tellraw @r in 14W21b glich?
    Hey Vivosims Here, I just want to share a glitch that a few friends of mine and i found using tellraw whilst playing TNT offs V2 beta by aary33.
    The pics are below Look at : "Sandsalamand choose the settings" and "aary33 Choose the settings"
    These pics were take of the same Tellraw command (with the tag @r) it showed aary33 to aary33 and it showed sandsalamand to 4 of us. i really have no clue what the heck happened........Here is the exact command as in the command block:
     /tellraw @a {selector:"@r[score_Deaths_min=200,score_Deaths=200]",extra:[{text:" choose the settings"}]}
    and yes these were taken at relatively the same time on the same server playing the same game and of the same event before anyone asks.
    Anyone know how this happened? i am clueless. it was a topic of debate how we saw different names for a while :steve_sillyface: until we got picture evidence..... :steve_sillyface:

    My Screenshot (Vivosims)

    does it have different sounds yet or is that meant to not be a feature of the pack ?... i know you can apply like two packs at once in-game but i dont really notice much change when i do that

    Minecraft Defined's Goal is not to change the look or feel of minecraft while enhancing it; i can not personally modify and improve the sounds of minecraft and i think that that is not necessary and would change the default "vibe" of minecraft. i will make it so that you can use sounds from another pack in the next update though if that helps :).
