posted a message on [1.9] [Windows] Minecraft AutoMap - Advanced Realtime Map
Will this application run in tandem with Minecraft? I feel that it would be useless otherwise as Cartograph would be much better and an ingame automap was already shut down.

posted a message on Do you hold the lanterns?
IIRC (Notch says a lot in lots of different places) lanterns will be:
    Brighter than torches.
They will be able to hang on ceilings.
He is going to create a new item, the new temporary torch, and change the existing torch item to make the lantern.
He also said that moving light sources are hard so no holding. (Slow? Impossible? Crazy hard?)
    I hope this helps.

posted a message on Ham Block
    Ham armor?
It doesn't have to be useful for anything, it's just there to be awesome.
Maybe it'll keep mobs 1 or 2 blocks away at all times because of the putrid smell of rotting meat covering your body?

I fully support the ham block under the condition that it is not edible. It should be stackable though.

posted a message on Quiver & some custom arrows
The only custom arrow that I approve of is the flare. It would do half damage against an opponent, but once it is launched it faintly glows, if that is implementable at the moment, and when it hits a wall it makes a red flash.
    The other suggestions seem obnoxious.
I mean launching a ladder piece by attaching it to a little arrow and shooting it out of a bow? Stand back and think about it for a bit.

posted a message on Minecraft ported to consoles!!! ITS POSSBILE(hopefully)! :)
Notch said no not because he was lazy, but that it was impossible.
First of all: MC runs on Java. There have been several suggestions that could have been done by switching the engine over to C or another language. Why not?
Well, porting code like this takes a lot of time.
You've (Not talking about anyone in particular) been complaining about a couple weeks off.
Now imagine him taking half a year off so he could port the code to a different language.

What does this have to do with consoles you may ask?
Porting to consoles is harder than porting to a different language.
Not only would it need to be ported to another language, but there would be many hoops and lots of red tape for Notch to navigate to make bringing MC to consoles a possibility.
    So no.
Notch said NO many times in the past. Because it cannot be done, not because he is 'lazy'
