except that hyperthreading can't really help much in games, generates more heat (bad in such a small build). The RAM is overkill, most games don't even use 4GB (Crysis 3's suggested specs is 4GB ram) and by the time 16GB is needed for gaming, DDR4 RAM will be out.
there is no way to future proof anything with computers. a $1600 build may last one extra year than a $800 build. getting something small and upgrading overtime is the best way to futureproof.
the guy has a Titan, a card that can max any game at 1080p. using it on such a small screen is like buying some Ferrari just to drive in city traffic.
Just for gaming, no. But graphic design and engineering projects like my wife does. Yes.
4gb of ram is nothing to some 3d design programs. I have 32gb of ram in our laptop and 16gb of ram in our desktop. Futureproofing. Ram is easy to future proof. I know there is nothing coming out in the next 5 years that is going to come anywhere near touching my 32gb of ram. futureproofing a GPU or a CPU. with today's technologies. You can get around 3 years out of both before you almost 'need' to upgrade. - though this is not a necessity, you can just learn to play on medium settings or even low. lol. I know people that are still using 9800 gtx cards in sli. still running games on medium to high at 60fps. Those cards are what 7-8 years old??
Hyperthreading.. same thing as above. For gaming, no. But for the above tasks. Hyperthreading is very important now.
But the titan thing, That's just plain old dumb.
I hate that build...
Useless i7, and a TITAN? he has a SINGLE 1366 x 768 SCREEN!!!
people on PcPartpicker don't know how to pick parts for a pc.
Now don't get me wrong the 3770 line of processors are GREAT in every way. 16gb of Ram is plenty even for futureproofing for a couple years to come. But seriously. A titan? with a 15inch screen? Some people are just plain stupid.
Well for that budget. Stay away from alienware or mac.

I would PERSONALLY (that means its my opinion and nobody need shoot it down) go with an i7 quad core processor, try to get a new 760 GPU. and 8gb of ram is still plenty. I have 32gb in my laptop and 16gb in my desktop. So from experience 8gb is plenty lol
I have it set to 1920x1080 on both my desktop and my laptop. (but I also have a 1920x1080 screen on both) You should just set it to whatever the native resolution is on your monitor or screen.
I can not even tell you how many posts I have seen about Jeb ruining Minecraft. Most of them do not even back up there claim on why they don't like him. He did NOT ruin Minecraft. He improved it. Everyone who starts those posts about how Jeb ruined Minecraft or how he is leading it in the "wrong direction" are probably just nostalgia players who miss how Notch would start things and not finish them. Jeb is doing a great job at Mojang, and I am sick of seeing people complain about all the hard work he does.
I completely agree with you, it's nice to see someone else who shares this thought. :-)
Ok so basically everyone in this thread told the thread-starter to not buy the razer 14".
Im simply going to answer his question. On max settings with a decent server (no lag) you should be getting nothing less than 45-50. Up to probably around 100fps honestly.
(my knowledge is due to owning a lot of premade computers and building a lot of custom computers)
I think it some cases it might be jealousy. It might even be just the need to survive. BUT, for the most part it's just because they think it is fun. Simple.
All I had to do to fix this problem when It happened to me is completely uninstall java.. and delete minecraft from your pc. Then install minecraft again FIRST. when you load minecraft it will tell it needs java to run. Accept what it says and let java install.
That fixed it for me.
Ok im not going to say what pre-made computer I have because im not getting involved in the stupid fanboy .
But I also have a custom built.
My premade (laptop) Can run minecraft on all maxed out settings at 150 - 180 Fps.
My custom desktop can run minecraft on all maxed out settings at around 120 - 140
At the end of the day. Custom and premade are both great. I could easily upgrade my desktop to run closer to 200fps.
But seriously. its completely pointless. I didn't buy my laptop or build my desktop to play minecraft. They do a lot more than that. lol.
I'm personally not getting anymore lag than before. Plus lag really depends on the server your playing on aswell.
Im still running lag-free at around 100 - 140 Fps depending on in-game weather.
I am having trouble staying connected to any server (i have tried 8 now)
i log in and i can break whatever blocks i want, but i never pick anything up, no door or chest access, and i cant see anyone (including myself) type anything in the chat box - im using my gaming pc.
My laptop on the other hand which is right next to my pc works just fine and they are both on wireless networks.
My gaming pc has a very expensive wireless card with a 3 inch antenna and im using comcast high speed internet.
The error im getting is
Internal exception: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out
I have already completely erased and re-installed java and minecraft on my pc.
Im completely confused at this matter, Any help would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: Its not my internet, I can get on borderlands 2 or black ops 2 online and play for as long as i want with perfect connection, Minecraft or java? wtf.
