posted a message on SURVIVAL/LIVESTREAM/OPEN TO ALL!!!
it's so corny how we gotta add people to our friends list....just to join the rooms.

when will they fix this? the same corny crap on Destiny. Gotta add them, just to get them in Fireteam.

these dumb developers and how they don't think about how improving the smallest of things, could make a huge improvement in the game itself...and make it so much more popular.

It's like their still stuck in the 80's the way they think sometimes...

    >>>BTW, you can still have random players join your server anyway. Go on the PS section of the forums and go on servers.

Interesting. So on the PS4, we can host a public server. But how would we get randoms to join? guessing we'd have to still post here for them to find it?

posted a message on Public online servers....EVER ?
This game could become so much bigger if they'd use their heads and implemented online public games that anybody could create or join. Of course the Host would be able to have options to prevent bad apples from blowing crap up.

why, why , why won't Mojang address this issue, that I see people complaining about over and over for years now ? Everybody wants public online games...things get boring when you play with ur same retarded friends over and over. People act nerdy and think their cooler their everybody else....sometimes just randoms are much funner and a new experience. Like playing Vanguard Strikes on Destiny.

Any talk if their FINALLY going to implement it? It's the ONLY reason I haven't bought it for the PS4 yet. And won't until they bring the update. (if ever)

I had a ton of fun hosting the PC version on my server (which I made public) ...until hackers hacked the server and ruined all the fun... :-/

posted a message on PS4 online play any different ?
Does the PS4 version have an online setup where people can randomly join our rooms...or do we gotta ask around, and add random weirdos to our friends list to get them to join?

dunno why the Minecraft dev team hasn't made this a priority for the console versions yet... that was the funnest part of PC version.. having randoms join.

posted a message on Public servers possible on PS3 ?
Just noticed today it's available on PS3....goodie.

    Question...

Can we host servers like we do on PC...to get random people hopping in and out of our server. Or is it setup just like on 360, where only people on ur friends list can be invited to join ?

posted a message on logging command blocks on vanilla?
so, somebody recommended something good to me...to prevent griefing on Vanilla...that helps like 90%.

Using command blocks to auto-run and auto-clear the inventory of people using griefing type material...like TNT.

only issue is server load at times... is there a way to log what command blocks are doing...to make sure some OP's aren't abusing command blocks to run up server load ? that's my only issue...then I can turn them back on...on vanilla. very effective tool if it could be 'logged'.

    5. Make your base hidden.

Well, another option.... how hidden a base can be ? who knows... Tracking the surroundings might be easy sometimes. Players always leave a hint or a "sign" of being there

plus, any OP can TP on you...and find ur location at any time.. :-/

posted a message on My biggest complaint on updates..
my biggest complaint (and i'm sure others as well) is how there are almost no anti-griefing measures whenever a new minecraft version is released.

I was initially excited when 1.7.2 was out. But what's the use, when everybody griefs in multiplayer ?

Hopefully this is a priority for u guys in future versions...to MAKE anti-griefing efforts..so we won't have to switch to craftbukkit all the time.

Primarily eliminating TNT / Lava / Fire destruction...just those 3 initially would be a big help. Or being able to log who griefed.

EDIT : I just noticed there's a 'future updates' section...if someone could move this there...that'll be great. thx.

posted a message on handing out World folder ?
So we've got a decently built World so far on Vanilla 1.7.2 creative.

And a couple guys would like for me to give them the World folder...so they can edit it...put more of their old world into it...and then give back to me to re-upload.

Sounds like a cool thin initially...but being still a noob at this, i'm unaware of security issues of doing so,...if any?

which is why i'm asking here first. any advice would be great.

posted a message on 1.7.2 Creative - Socom5.com - Sick server... Cool , mature crowd.
Direct Connect to Socom5.com and you're in. Cool mature crowd on Creative 1.7.2 server...that's up 24/7.

Never any lag..runs smooth with 20 people or more.

.Lookin for more cool cats to help build / create / and just have a kick-azz cool time in general.

Server admin is also server / forum admin for Socom5.com...which has been up and running for over 10 years. (veins)

Some of the stuff people create in this game are just awe inspiring to me. This is probably the best game ever to wind down to and just let those creative juices flow.

posted a message on This game = hackers galore...
after running the "grep java" command...the following displayed :

    gcc-java.x86_64 4.1.2-51.el5 installed

    java-1.4.2-gcj-compat.x86_64 1.4.2.0-40jpp.115 installed

    java-1.4.2-gcj-compat-devel.x86_64 1.4.2.0-40jpp.115 installed

    java-1.7.0-openjdk.x86_64 1:1.7.0.45-2.4.3.1.el5_10 installed

    tzdata-java.x86_64 2013g-1.el5 installed

I'm kinda surprised to see so many.

looking at install history...looks like the 1.4.2 versions were installed back in 2010...default with the server, as I never manually needed to install them for anything.

the 1.7.0 openjdk was the only one I manually installed last month for minecraft.

steps on where to go from here are appreciated. I'm not sure if those 1.4.2's were ever used for anything on the server. How many linux / centos programs actually even use Java these days...

Bee, you've been good help...thx for the tips.

I believe I used that same command to install Java. (either that or Yum Install...i forget)

Previous to minecraft, I never needed Java and might not of even had it on the server.

Should I change permissions of some of the java files after it installs? Baffles me how they get inside these small holes..

Also, could you tell me , directory wise....where it gets installed on a CentOs/ Linux ? This way I could monitor file changes.

Java doesn't use mysql either...does it ? (i haven't used it at all with minecraft either...mysql)

Thx and sorry for all the Q's.

the .jar file properties haven't changed at all since it was installed on 10/25.

    nothing unusual in server.properties either.

so it must be the java...

I've been intentionally crashing my client to see these and they're actually pretty damn funny.

Intentionally? see what I mean... This game seems vulnerable like crazy.

    Even more errors this morning...
