I believe this has an option for 3d spheres.

But usually I just build circles along the 3 axes and connect them up with more circles, and that makes a good enough sphere.

posted a message on 417 Challenge: Expectation Failed
    417: Expectation Failed!

The 417 challenge is intended for Java Edition versions 1.18 and up! This is NOT a nostalgic Minecraft challenge.

Welcome to the 417 Challenge! With the new changes in Youtube trends and how people view Minecraft "challenges", the failure of the original 404 challenge to meet these modern expectations has become more and more obvious. Think about most modern challenges: they feature relatively unmodified gameplay but with one major twist that spices things up. For example, "Minecraft but I can't leave this box", or, "Minecraft but I breathe underwater instead of in air", or that sort of thing. Thus why this challenge has been named 417: Expectation Failed, a fitting name to describe how the original 404 fits into all of the modern Minecraft content.

    The Challenge!
The challenge goes like a normal Minecraft survival world, with one main exception: you must remain entirely underground for the entire playthrough.

    Set your own goals!

How to set up the 417 challenge:

    1. Generate a world. It can be any seed, though of course 417 (in 1.18+) is the "canonical" seed.

    2. Immediately enter spectator mode, locate an underground cavern (near y=0), and set your spawn there. You may avoid deep dark spawning locations if you wish, or intentionally place yourself in one for extra challenge. If playing on 417, I recommend the lush cave at -190 -11 -207.

    3. Enter survival mode and begin the playthrough.

    The Rules!

Once you load into the world, you must immediately place yourself in the cavern, unlike the original 404 challenge where you have a day to gather supplies. This is because of the 1.18 cave update and other underground structures added in updates since Beta.

You may use the 404 version of this rule (having a day on the surface) for an easier version of the challenge. (Wow, since when is 404 easier than 417, amirite?)
Other than going to the surface, everything else is fair game: the Nether and the End are both fine. (After all, the Nether is like a giant cave, and it would be unfair to lock access to the End which has no caves to speak of)
Follow the spirit of the challenge! No staying right below the surface and digging up to get stuff the whole time.
In general, use your best judgment as to what counts as underground.
Torches are allowed. It's unfair to play without them.
You may play however you wish, as you would in a normal survival world, except underground.
Branch mining is completely allowed. You are playing an underground survival challenge, not an adventure map.
Any difficulty is allowed (though, like with normal Minecraft, Peaceful locks you out of certain things)
Do NOT play this challenge on Hardcore! There's too much hardcore Minecraft content on Youtube and whatnot already.
Kind of kidding here, you can play on hardcore if you wish. But keep in mind you are playing a variant of the challenge.
Using subtitles to find structures, F3 to find biomes / coordinates etc is allowed.
You may modularly reintroduce 404 restrictions (no torches, no branch mining, hardcore, no F3/subtitles) for extra difficulty if you wish, though this is not recommended as it complicates the challenge.

Someone else said no rejecting things because they are in mods. Also, we have pistons, remember? also, Galacticraft has a stupid map UI that I don't like.

i know this is possible because there is a bug if you start breaking a block while jumping and stop jumping the block will save its state. This works by only one block be partially broken at a time.

Every planet will have a dimension, when you go within 512 blocks. and the sky of each planet will adjust to match its surroundings. (if the orbits of Mars and Earth align, Earth will appear to transit acros the sun, which will dim the sky light level a bit. And from Eath's point of view, Mars will appear opposite the sun, and the moon has an orbit too; it can eclipse the sun in certain cases, bringing the light level to 4 on Earth)

The moon's display texture on Earth will have a full moon tex on the front, a half moon on the sides, and a new moon on the back.

Here's the deal. Starting at 384 blocks, you would lose gravity. space officially starts at 512 blocks up, and continues for the next 4096 blocks. Some mods have changed the height limit to 2048, so why not 9216 blocks? And if you go below 512 blocks of a planet you get transported to that planet. and mars is 256x256 and earth is 512x512. This is mainly a thing for Creative players, though there are rockets. I don't want the space GUI that Galacticraft adds. I don't want portals. I want a unique dimension.

Also the render distance is increased to 32 chunks automatically in space and all the planets render even if out of the render distance.
