    At the end of a round, a winner is announced and the players are moved to a new arena.

    Rules: No hacking and no abusive language towards other players in chat.
    Server Hardware: 8gb of RAM, 100mb UP/DOWN, and a kick-ass processor

    Other: CookieSlap server, we have 150 slots and almost always hover over 100 players online. In-game chat is crazy, but we have a public teamspeak for people to join - you can join and talk to staff right away, as we all use it as our main communication as well.
    CookieSlap also has CookieSpleef, with a fancy custom made arena and custom made spleef plugin - you can learn how to join by watching .
    Hope to see you there! Contact the owner (itsatacoshop247) in-game or by emailing him at [email protected] if you need to for any reason.

    I have, all the time!

    Well now it's time to introduce "More Beef!"

    The mod that makes this...

    Into THIS:

    :Bacon: :Bacon: :Bacon: :Bacon: :Bacon: :Bacon:

    Pretty sweet huh?

    This mod affects the drop outputs of: Cows, Chickens, Pigs, Zombies.

    Due to the fact that spider eyes can be used for purposes other than food, I made it so that these four are the only ones effected!

    Mobs now drop 1-8 pieces of Meat/Food.

    Good friend,

    You see, the gambling/randomness as you call it, adds to the survival aspect of minecraft. If you knew you were getting a certain enchantment, or you knew you were going to get that pork, or if you knew where that important ore you just mined over a lava vein was going to fall...where's the fun in that?

    The less knowledge of the game makes the game more fun. Yes, I do get pissed when I spend 5 hours for level 50 at a grinder just to get bane of arthropods 3 on my sword. But I go back and do it again, just so I can get what i want.

    I see your frustrations, they happen to me all the time...but the dice rolling factor of minecraft makes it an unknown fun. It makes you want to play some more.

    posted a message on Jeb...all I want is silk touchable mob spawners. That's all I ask for.
    Dearest Mojang,

    Is it too much to ask to grab some silk touch picks and mine a mob spawner? It's impossible to make dual grinders now-a-days... and I don't want to have to walk 500 miles to get to my grinder in SMP.

    What do you guys think?

    posted a message on Herobrine's Return: Fan story by Urkel940
    Herobrine's Return: Fan story by Urkel940

    My pickaxe hit the last stone piece and I collected it, that was the last block of the day and my hands felt as though they were lead weights sinking to the bottom of Notch’s ocean. I shoved the last piece of the material into my pack and began the long, grueling walk home. It was almost one thousand blocks away, or so it seemed, so I need to start walking now if I still want to grab some sleep before the raid tomorrow. I heaved the pick over my shoulder and began to walk back the way I came. Today was a great day at the mine; I found over twenty raw iron, fifteen gold, and two diamonds that hid behind a shrine of coal hidden that sought it’s resting place in a dark cave.I need to get all this material to my home base; it could help against the fight for Minecraftia!” I thought out loud. I need to keep walking forward.
    “Ah-ha! There you are intersection!” I thought aloud again. I come to this intersection after every mining trip; it’s my one-way ticket out into the ‘hub’ that connects to the base I see it every single month… but where was the sign? Where is the sign that directs me home? The one sign that writes ‘To the Hub’, and has an arrow pointing off in a direction. It was my way of knowing the day was done. It must be John trying to play with me mind again, I thought to myself. “Alright John, come on out. You better know the way to the Hub!” I said. Steve, that boys always playing games with me after a hard day of work.

    A shrill sound came from the far left corner of the mines. “John?” I asked the darkness, and it answered with silence. That’s definitely not John, I thought to myself. I need to run. I blasted off into a corridor North of the sound with my pickaxe and pack bouncing at my sides. I don’t think I’ve ever run this fast in my life. I took a right, and then a left, and then another right and another left. My pack was unraveling and I could hear the materials hitting the edge of the pack. I can’t drop these dammit, I’ve worked all day for them! I thought. I stopped quickly to retie the pack and took off again. I don’t know where I’m going, and I don’t know where I am. I took a breather near a section that off-routed into a dark cave with a sign that read ‘Unexplored, be back in a few ~Roger’.

    Roger died three years ago in the mines and we hadn’t seen him since. I could see a broken ladder leading down into the cave with vines creeping all around it. A shrill shrieks again from the corridor. “I need to get out of here” I shouted again, to the dark cave. I grabbed a torch and descended down the ladder. This seems to go on to no end, and I cannot even see the bottom. The pickaxe again clunked down the small hole in which I climbed to enter the cave, breaking dirt and stone as it went down, that pick is always in the way. It was my fathers, though, and I can’t lose it.

    A light protruded from the bottom of the ladder and I looked in farther to see it was another torch. Maybe Roger has been living down here all along and can’t get back up! I dropped down and set my pickaxe leaning against the wall with my pack. There was a light of some kind, I haven’t a clue what it is; it seems like block of pure light, just sitting there above a wooden, broken down chest. I step towards it and open the chest, as a bone opens with the top. Bones. Of a Crafter. It was Roger, and his notebook sat atop his wasted body. I took it and opened to the last page of writing. It read:
    It’s so dark in here. I can’t see anything except for the light this block is giving off. They want it from me, but they’ll never get it. I can hear the shrieks in the darkness from afar, and they know I have it. But… I found it, and it’s mine. The darkness can’t have it. Herobrine will never catch me, this light is mine. He wants it to become a Crafter, but he’ll never do it. The light is mine. Minecraftia lives on. The light is mine….the light is mine”

    This light has something to do with a dark force. I don’t know what it is, but it’s shining in a dark place. It’s a place that hasn’t been visited for three years at the least. Well, visited by a human that is. I want to touch it. It gives off a faint sound and a warming sensation as I place my hand upon it. It feels comforting, and gives me hope. I need to see what’s farther down the hall. I should grab my pack first.

    Where is the pack? I swear I left it right next to the entrance but its nowhere in sight, yet my pickaxe seems to lie in the same position on the wall as I left it. It isn’t on my back and I cannot see it. What was that? Another shriek. I picked up my pick and ran to the light, I hope this thing does something against the beasts of Minecraftia. I saw a black shadow cross down the ladder from afar. The torch near where my pack laid went cold, the embers didn’t even show. Something was out there, and I don’t know what it is. I white-knuckle gripped my pickaxe’s handle and sat in the corner leaning up to the light and broken down chest.

    “ Talek, my boy you’ve found it!” Said a slithery, scaly evil voice from the dark. It laughed. Two white eyes appeared as a dark cloud formed far away from the light.

    “You’re Herobrine.” I said confidently. The shape shifted into it’s natural form; a body with a blue top and dark pants, like any other person, except his eyes were a deep metallic white that seemed to peer into my soul as if they were millions of people staring at me from one, dark man. If you could call it a man. “Congratulations, aren’t you agog to meet me? I’m like a god down here. All the monsters love me.” He said sarcastically, he knows we all hate him. “What do you want from me?” I said. What did he want, why was he here?

    “ Talek, today marks the anniversary of the day my soul was stripped from me. The day Notch took my whole life and sent me into the void to rot as a floating entity. However every year, it seems, I get to return to these mines to gain back my soul. Someone comes down here to mine and I snatch him up to complete my soul so I can return to the over-world. To take back Minecraftia. Every year I need a new soul, and no one has interrupted that process until now. I need one more soul, Talek, and you’re the only one here. You’re my last soul, but I can’t get you when you’re near that damn light, boy. Come, let me help you. Yes, I will have to take your soul, but it isn’t so bad. You’ll be back to conquer with me boy, you and me ruling the world. How does that sound?”

    I clutched my father’s pickaxe so tightly I began to twist the wooden handle. Don’t listen to him Talek. I thought. He doesn’t want to help you, he wants to kill you. “You’re a sick man Herobrine. You’re like the Balrog of Minecraftia. That awkward, last part of evil that still sits longing to be with us, but I’ll never help you.” I said. What am I doing? I’m egging on the greatest power of evil in this world. I’m an idiot.
    “Boy, that wasn’t the best thing to speak in this point in time. Now, step away from the light so I can teach you about what I do to disobedient souls.” Said Herobrine. So he can’t come close to me because of the light, that’s a good pro in this sea of cons situation. I slowly stepped forward, maybe I can con him into the light.

    “I’m sorry, Herobrine…I didn’t even know how childish I was acting. I’d love to help you.” I said as I slowly unhooked the light block from the fence it was placed on. “I just have one question.” His face questioned me as he leaned in to grab me. “What do you think about light?” I thrust out the light towards the shadow and it scorched the tips of his shadowy figure. He screamed out in pain and I sprinted down the hall with pickaxe and light block in hand. The light gave still gave a warm sensation as I ran through the halls. Shrieks of beasts and monsters sounded behind me as I heard Herobrine shout “Bring me the boy!” I sprinted without turning back, and the stone block walls turned into bricks covered in vines. I must’ve entered an underground building. “I need to move” I whispered, out of breath and walking slowly. Columns appeared broken in the ground and in the wall, hanging as if they once served a purpose of a great underground city. Small bugs scampered about as I jumped over fallen columns and walls. I looked back and smacked straight into what seemed like a wall. I turned to see that, to my surprise, it’s a door. It had no handle, just one large, stone door.

    Buttons and levers lined the hulking doors as the faint glow of red-stone wiring seeped through the walls. “It’s a puzzle!” I said aloud, and then stopped myself as I realized I needed to be silent. I knew the basic principles of red-stone circuitry thanks to my father being a Minecraftia engineer, but never actually tested his puzzles. I was always so busy with…useless things. I wish I would’ve done those puzzles…they would’ve come in handy. Doesn’t matter now, I know the basics. I wonder if I press them all in order…arrows shot out from the wall and I ducked. That isn’t going to work. I looked up at the walls and saw a pattern, button button lever up down button down. Okay, this might be it. I punched it in, and heard a hideous screeching of stone on stone. The doors slowly opened and I backed away, and then they slammed open. Darkness. They stayed like this for the next 5 seconds, I then heard voices and the door started closing so I jumped through the door. It shut behind me as I looked towards the darkness with the only light coming from the block. The walls were lined with carvings and markings portraying a story of a man stealing everything from them. Herobrine. I thought. That things been around for ever, he needs to be outdated. I kept walking with a spring in my step looking for something, anything to give me clues. Weaknesses, spots, things that will make him squirm. I looked at the very last carving and saw it. The block. It had something to do with the defeat of Herobrine and the monsters.

    I read into the carvings some more and the block had to be placed somewhere, somewhere near here. In a shrine of sorts, that must be why this building is here, this contraption, those traps! There must be a way. I walked forward, then started to sprint. The hallway seemed to continue forever, with ledges broken from the tops and carvings thrown to the ground. Vines and rubble scattered the ground where I walked and I tripped over one and fell to the ground. The pickaxe slid off my shoulder and hit the light block, and a great flash sparked from the interaction, but the block didn’t break. It didn’t crack the pick either, and the force was too great for either of them not to. I picked up the light-stone block and held it to the ground. Why doesn’t it interact like that with the ground or myself? It got colder on the side closest to the ground, but warmer towards me. I held the pick close to the block. Both grew warm as the hilt of the pickaxe flickered a lettered pattern. It must be my imagination. I threw the pick back over my shoulder and kept walking, until I hit another door.

    This door wasn’t exquisite. There aren’t any carvings or patterns, or traps or puzzles. Just a door with a normal handle. I set the pickaxe down and reached for the door. Nothing, it wouldn’t budge. I tried again and slammed against it, then kicked it and pulled on it. Still, nothing. It was a door made of iron that looked like wood. I kicked the door and sat on the floor fiddling with the light block. “I hate this.” I said as I set the block down near me and the pickaxe close to the door. The block flew up and melted into the door like water through a grate.

    I grabbed my pickaxe and stepped away from the gold spot where the light block melted into the door. It swirled left and right and took a long pause. Then all light disappeared, right out of the door and it was pitch black. Three seconds of pure darkness went by, an odd sort of warm darkness, like you knew something excellent was coming. The door burst into an explosion of golden light, patterns forming and flying every which way across the splintered wood. It formed spiraled leaves across the wall and symbols and forms along the bottom and top of the door. The final image, it seems, was a pixilated form of our god, Notch with the letters in acrylic writing at the bottom that read ‘Mojang’.
    “Mojang?” I asked aloud, and the door opened at the sound. It was just like the Moria door in Middle Earth. The golden door swung open majestically at the sound of the phrase, like clockwork. I walked through the door, and like the last, it shut behind me. The glow slowly died and a light path appeared in the ceiling guiding me somewhere. I started to follow it. It led down a large passage that was lit by the light-block path that seemed to go on for eternity. I kept walking, and walking, yet I didn’t get tired. I felt as though something was guiding me, giving me strength and warmth on this long journey. I soon came to a spot where the hall way widened, and the path stopped at the end of the skinny section of the hallway.

    All lights then went out from behind me, and the hall went dark for a minute. Then a brilliance shot across the widened hall revealed a humongous room, this brilliance was ten times that of the doorway incident. The room was a beautiful, light temple. It had four main pillars and stairs that led to a table platform. The light formed patterns again in the wall similar to the door, with spirals and squares and boxes and beautiful symbols. The light block hung from the ceiling near the table. I began to walk towards it. Light patterns formed about my foot as I stepped to the platform, making small footprints in the stairs. I came to the table and saw it was empty of whatever brilliance this temple holds. It must be the light block. I took it off it’s hinges in the wall and set it on the table. Nothing, just the same brilliance in the room as before. I threw my pickaxe over my shoulder, I barely even noticed it walking here, it was as if it had no weight. I attached the light block back into the stand it was on hanging from the ceiling. “Why is this here, if nothing even happens with its source?” I said as I set my pickaxe onto the platform and looked around for an answer.

    A sound of a million breaths then came from the back of me. I shot around to see the pickaxe now standing upright in the center of the table, seeming to draw power from it, the room, and the light block. It spun slowly 360 degrees until in one final breath, it drew its last source of light from its surroundings. The blue pickaxe was now a shining golden color with beautiful ornate patterns and acrylic writing on the side that read “Bane”. Bane? Voices then boomed from out of no where:
    “Talek. The mission is yours now. We’ve tried before.” Said the voice of Roger. Roger was still alive? Or was this my imagination? “There hasn’t been one like you in ages, Talek.” Said an unknown voice.
    “Who are you?” I said to the second voice. “Where are you?” I asked. “I’m Roger, Talek. The body you found near the entrance probably.” Said Roger. “I am Notch, son, the father of Minecraftia.” Said the voice. Notch. The god. My god, our god. The creator. He’s talking to me. “You have to go defeat Herobrine, boy. He’s grown stronger and can almost reach the surface. If that happens, Minecraftia is an all out war. Take the pick, boy, and run. It’s up to you.” Said Notch. This is all happening too soon.

    “I’m just one person, this doesn’t even make sense! Why me, why now? I’m just a miner! I didn’t ask for this.” I shouted at them. “Talek, you descend from a long line of strong blood. You descend from the blood line of Steve, the first crafter. You are in the blood of the beginning, like your father was. Like Roger. You all feed Herobrine, but now you’ve reached the step to fight him. You’ve reached the spot to stop this madness, but if you fail, so does Minecraftia. You are the last hope.” Said Notch. I was hit with a sense of pride mixed with fear and unawareness. What do I do? Where do I go? “How do I win?” I asked idiotically. Of all the intelligent questions I could’ve asked… “You fight, Talek. You are the last of the line. You’ll know what to do when the time comes. Our time is limited, boy, the lights running out in here. Take the pick. Run to the door at the edge of the room, and you will know where to go. It leads you. Good luck.” The voice cut out at the end of luck, and the room’s brilliance began to fade as the only things that were shining were the pick and light block. I grabbed the light block and ran out to the door. I have no idea what will happen, but we’ll soon find out. I opened the door to the darkness leading with my pickaxe followed by my body.

    This will be the fight of my life. The fight against Herobrine's Return.

    This is an unfinished piece of work, obviously left you hanging there.

    Tell me if you enjoyed it and I will pick it up where I left off.

    I know there must be mistakes, please do feel free to point them out.

    Fun fact: This started as a 1 page write for a class i'm taking, and it is now nine pages long.

    posted a message on How to: be an effective mod/admin of a server, with urkel940
    .So you want to be an admin.

    A guide by Urkel940

    Warning:
    Before we stat into the guide, I'd like to say that I have very limited knowledge of BB code, so the fancy "Clickings" aren't going to be here. Sorry. I need to learn that, I know.

    How to become an admin 101:

    1. Pre-knowledge: Let me lay down the preliminary knowledge. The basin to your minecraft-admin life. Here it is; you are not going to become an admin if you join an unknown server and bluntly state

    "I want to be OP"
    "Give me OP"
    "Is there an admin on? Can he make me a mod?"
    "Does admin need mods? I'm looking for a mod job"

    Not going to work. In fact, it will do the opposite. Get you banned. Don't do it, unless you're a griefer, it's extremely effective at annoying server owners.

    2. Know your environment: Don't just join a random server and want to be OP. If you're a survival advocate, don't go parading around a creative server making elaborate underground bases, when all they want is some sweet castles. If you're a creative builder, don't jump into a survival server and sit at the spawn for the whole first month logging 200+ hours on hitting that same piece of lightstone 400 times.

    Join something you want to play. Something you're good at. I'm exceptionally well and Anarchy servers, and would you look at that, I'm an admin on two.

    2b. Know your people: Don't expect to immidiately get administrative title by just playing the server. Get to know the people, and get to know the admin! If they know and trust you, they'll be able to decide if they'd like you to be on their team of grief-busting, hack-busting, awesome people!

    3. Be PATIENT: Now I know what you're saying to yourself. You're saying, urkel, I AM PATIENT. No, your not. I've been in your position before. It seemed like I waited and waited until the sun shined no more to become an admin on a server. When the day came that I asked, it was only three weeks into it. You need to wait for the admin to notice you, enjoy you, and know that you'll be a good addition to his team.

    4. Have fun: This relates to the 2a column immensely, just be yourself and have fun. Join in on some teamspeak/skype/vent/mumble conversations. If you're young, that's OK! If people like you, people like you, who cares what your "voice" sounds like on the mic. (Or what it doesn't sound like. Vent rule #1: Don't screw with your voice.) Play around on the server, twist the plot! Create some (if in anarchy) in-game Drama!

    Example: I once was "based" with a whole team of people for the whole of 1.1 map. In the last week of the map, I killed ALL of them. Why? It creates a more fun next map, and no, they don't hate me. They are pissed, of course they are, but they don't hate me. It's all for the fun of the game. Spin of your wrists. Be spontaneous.

    5. Don't actively be a D-bag, or break rules: No one likes a jerk. Being funny whilst messing is okay! It's welcomed. But legitimately telling someone to "F#$% off" or to "Get their N%$#%!# A@&" out of here isn't funny. It's stupid, uncool, and it ruins your chances of becoming a mod.

    6. System: Contrary to popular belief, there is an effective system you can follow to become a mod.

    1. Find a server you enjoy.
    2. Play on the server for a couple of weeks, getting to know the admin and players.
    3. Begin to return regularly, occasionally enforcing rules, alerting the admin for possible X-rayers, or PVP hackers.
    4. Play for at least 1-2 months before even hinting at the suggestion of becoming a mod. No one likes constant nagging.
    5. Drop the question: "Hey (admin name) are you in need of any mods? I'm usually on when no one else is on when hackers are about"

    or

    "Hey (admin name) I really love the server, and I'd like to be a part of the admin team. Have any need for another mod?"

    6. If you got the OK, continue scrolling for the next segment on how to be a good mod. If no, keep reading.
    7. Okay, so you got the no. Two letters, yet so effective, i understand. BUT DON'T BE DISHEARTENED.

    Don't tee off on the admin and say things like "I've been here for X amount of months and X amount of days and urkel's tutorial said I'd be a mod!

    Nope. You still have a chance. Rather, you have more of a chance than anyone else on the server. You asked. You have the (for lack of better term, sorry ladies) balls to man up and ask after you've enforced the rules. Good job. But keep playing the server, because it rocks.

    Now don't leave the server after that sad day with the admin. As I said, keep playing. It's still a fun server, and what do you know? A spot might be there waiting for you.

    Good luck!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    How to be a good mod.
    1. So you're a mod, in the big times: Welcome to the world of admin, where there are secret web pages on xraying, private chats, and epic bans to be had. Don't go all crazy yet! There are some things you need to know before you get started.
    1 Warning: This tutorial is based off of anarchy/survival mode gameplay. Sorry for the references to survival, creative players. Some people have to punch the wood for your fortresses. ;)
    2. Learn from your fellow moderators on the server: Ask around. Ask what times are the most effective to watch, when to watch, and why to watch! There should be at least 2 other moderators on a good healthy server keeping it focused on the objective. Ask about commands, players that are suspect, and what to watch out for on the chat bar.
    3. Don't go crazy watching/teleporting to people in invisible mode: Whoa there tiger, I know you just got pretty shiny new commands, but you don't have to use them just yet. Let's say It's only you, the two other moderators, the admin, and two regulars that always log in at the same time every day. You Do NOT need to check them. Don't take the risk of teleporting to them and accidentally taking some XP orbs or screwing a water elevator up. You could be the reason for their death. Now go ahead, sure. Teleport once or twice to get the feeling of commands, but then stop and go back to normal playing. No one needs to die because of you being happy. :)
    4. Do not flaunt your mod powers: Let's take my server for example, when I'm not in mod mode, the colour of my IGN is blue. A suddle, regular blue. When I change to mod mode, however, it is RED. Do NOT scare off potential players, by telling them something stupid and scaring them with your powers. Do not teleport to players un-invisible to purposefully scare them. Also, do not kick and ban for no reason. This is a major point that will get it's own section at the end.
    5. Do not take control of other player's lives(in minecraft) with mod powers: Yes, in mod mode you can open chests. You can hit crops. You can kill mobs. Does that givge you the right to steal, kill, and take what isn't even YOURS? NO! That doesn't make any sense. Don't teleport to a player, write down their co-ordinates, then go kill them with your IGN player(s). That's stupid and you'll be banned and forever looked down upon.
    6. Don't always ban: Some x-rayers really do have good souls, they just suck at mining. I knew a regular that played for two months straight, 12,000 blocks mined and only found 12 diamond. That is ONE diamond for every THOUSAND blocks. It's frustrating. Just /msg the player and tell them that you know that they hacked to get those diamonds. If they admit it, tell them to get rid of the mod, and let them off with a warning. Then tell them to throw all their diamonds in the lava. That will stick it to 'em.
    7. If banning, know who to ban and why! Never have your finger on the trigger: Let's say xXawesomesaucemanXx was using xray, but CoolCat75 just dropped in behind him to kill him right after he xrayed. You know that only xXawesomesaucemanXx hacked, but you don't know anything about CoolCat75. Don't BAN BOTH. Ban the one responsible. Which is xXawesomesaucemanXx. Don't ever have your ban button at the ready to ban anyone who crosses your path. Some people that are 'flying' may just live in the netherlands and have bad connection. /msg and get to know what they are doing.
    8. Be available: If Mr.Admin made you a moderator, you do your job! Answer questions, remarks, and solve problems. If Mr. A needs help with some xrayer, you go get them. Know your commands. Know your weapons. In my server, in mod mode, a cookie is used to ban people. I accidentally hit a regular with it one day, and on a deathban server, it's hard to get them back in the game.
    9. Have a good personality: A good mod is a well liked mod. If everyone hates you, your doing something wrong on the server. Make sure to get positive with everyone.
    Unless it's an anarchy server. Then good luck getting on anyone's good side.
    Conclusion:
    I'd like to personally thank all of you to the last two uses of my pickaxe for clicking on this thread and taking a read. I spent about 3 hours working on this (at least i think so, I started around 9 and it is now 12:05)
    Something that really helps me go on is if you leave a comment on this post. I love it. I try answering every single one, unless you guys start debating. Then I just leave :)
    So remember, if you use these tactics and plans, you'll become a mod/better mod in no time.
