Im sure most of you have figured out by now that EC is comming to an end. This has been a very long time coming. You may have noticed myself and most of the staff havent been on it since the end of July. Neamo and I were away on a long vacation so the server remained on 1.2.5 meaning most people couldnt get on it unless they used an older MC version.

I started this server with the intention of playing with friends and meeting other cool people and for a time things were great. After a while as these things tend to do, the server became a daily chore. Rarely did I build or do other things. Mostly I fixed problems behind the scenes. Now that Im entering into a new phase in my life (planning my wedding to Neamento, sorting through the logistics of moving him from the UK to Canada, working to raise money for all this, ect, ect) I no longer have the hours to spend everyday on the server. I havent enjoyed the server for a long time. What kept me keep it open all the time was the great players and staff we had and the fact Id miss them but now because of all thats happening in my life is the time to close ECs doors.

I will definitely miss the awesome people Ive met on the server. Even those of you who for whatever reason decided to hurt me in the end. I will remember the good times fondly. I have memories of every single staff member that EC has had that make me laugh and smile and I wont forget all the help youve all been over the year+ we were open.

Thank you so much to everyone who played here and made EC the easy going fun place it was. Thank you to all the staff for your hard work and dedication. Thank you to all the donators who kept us up and running!

Kait with you it was you saying you were leaving and being cryptic about it and me wondering if that was the reason. I didnt think at the time about demoting you. If Id of thought of it I definitely would of until I talked to you. I mean no offence to either you Caca or Wolf. I think the 3 of you are awesome. I just need to protect the server. Holy hell lots to reply to! First here is a TL;DR version for anyone wondering where all the drama llamas that have appeared in the room came from. Some staff (Dan, Kanrilla, Meowsy, Grim, Merlin) are mad about promotions. Either not getting them or others who have gotten them.



Merlin youve written a book so Imma reply to this as best I can. I cant quite understand some of what youve said but Ill do my best to reply it.

For starters you didnt say you were considering leaving. When I came on you said you WERE leaving. Why would I leave you as staff if your not playing here? Of course Id demote you. How stupid would I be to leave someone whos pissed off at me for whatever reason as staff with world edit powers? As for not replying to you post here you didnt have give me the courtesy of sending this in PM so you will get your reply here as well. Tough.

Now before I go replying to the rest of your post I need to make this very clear to ALL of you. NONE of you came to me with ANY of your problems. Not once. I own the server and because of that I get raped with messages whenever I come on the server. Not only in chat but PM. Lots of times I come on Im on to fix something and an not watching chat. I also get my messages flooded with errors in game and various other plugin crap that literately floods my page. If I dont see what your saying to me so what Ive repeatedly asked you guys to do. SEND ME A PM OR EMAIL. Some of your learned to do this and ther for got replys from me. Merlin I told you this MANY times. You even sent me PMs and I delt with them. If you guys are mad that I dont say hi to you when you join the server thats a little childish isnt it? If Im not ask I say hello to people. Most times Im afk in a private convo or working on server issues. Im sorry i cant be in 100 places at once. If you had an issue you knew to email me yet you chose not to. Whos fault is that? Certainly not mine.

Also what happened since I talked to you about leaving a few days ago Merlin when you assured me you wernt going any wheres and had no problems with promotions. What about you Dan? When I asked you you said you were fine with things? You guy were lieing to me then? Interesting...

If you guys had such problems with Fin and Pos being staff why didnt you tell me? Also every situation with Fin that I was made aware of was delt with. You all know hes been demoted a few times. He improved and was re-promoted. You have no idea the talks that both Neam and I have with Fin about his behavior. Besides of which his computers been borked and hes not been online. Why pick now to start this ***** fest when hes not been on to do anything to get mad about? Fin genuinely loves this server and all of you so I hope you guys are happy with yourselves that youve broke his heart because you couldnt man up about the issue then got together in a group to team up against him. Well done. Very mature. If you all had of come to me and said you all had this huge problem with him being staff I would have looked at whither or not he was a good fit but you didnt and acted like kids ganging up on people. I suppose thats what I should expect from kids though shouldnt I?

Merlin you say people were criticizing you. I really wish youd of talked to me. You didnt tell me this was going on. Also in a lot of situations I know because of the language barrier you wouldnt get that some people were just kidding around with you and you took it seriously. You are a very serious guy and a lot of people dont get that so prolly inadvertently hurt your feelings. I dont think anyone was out to hurt you and if they knew how much it was bothering you they wouldnt of done it. Also you joke around with people so how would people not know to not joke around with you?

I wish youd of told me this was going on. Also I asked you about your depression and you wouldnt talk I suffer from that **** too so I feel like I might of been able to offer some insight to you. Something I enjoy doing is talking to different people about depression because where Ive suffered with it since I was a kid I know lots of coping skills with it. Despite all the **** thats gone down and the fact that Im very hurt by you at the moment Id still like to offer to help to you if you ever need it. Im very hurt that you are trying to pin your depression on me. Its not my fault you feel as you do. Ive been nothing but nice and supportive to you and now you stab me in the back like this?

Merlin you are a hardass about bans. I didint say that was necessarily a bad thing. When you first got Admin you were ban happy but pretty much all staff do that. You took this job very, very seriously and I think you lost the fun of the game on the way and that makes me sad for you. You were always very thorough as a staff member. Nothing seemed to slip past your eagle eye. Sometimes you took this a bit far (for example trying to find Twill Xraying) You were somewhat obsessive trying to catch him and so I asked you to leave him.

My stance on Pandoras box has always been this: If you see a theif online on and they stole apples ask them to return the apples first. If they do and are apologetic then dont ban them. If there not on, arent sorry about stealing or ignore your request ban them. Do not ban if someone takes apples and returns them all. For greifers if they break one or 2 blocks and there online ask them about it. It may of been accidental. Otherwise ban. Crop theft I never said insta ban unless they intentionally destroyed a whole farm. Ive tried to be clear about this but I know my message gets filtered through other people and prolly gets changed around and misunderstood. Im sorry about any confusion to the staff. Merlin Im not upset or disappointed in you for being a more strict member of staff. Ive told you different times how amazing a job I thought you were doing. If you felt you should of herd me say it more often Im sorry. As I say Im very busy but as Ive always said I love and appreciate every one of you. If you dont believe it and bear some kind of grudge against me than there is nothing I can do about that but just know I never ment to hurt your feelings. I just wish you would of spoke to me instead of letting your feelings fester and not said anything to me when I asked you about them and then lieing and telling me you were staying and supported how promotions were done.

Merlin Ive never once yelled at you. Never. Ive spoke to you about some things but that was far from yelling and was just a discussion. I had no idea you viewed it as a reprimand. Im just now realizing how seriously you take things and had I of known Id of gone about things differently. I think the language barrier has something to do with that. Your english is awesome but sometimes I think some things just dont translate well if you know what I mean. On the xray thing yeah its pretty shitty to xray when playing war. I told you this once and you swore never to do it again yet you did. In that game your talking about we told other people to join your team to even it out and you didnt want them. Despite you using xray a few times I had fun playing war with you. Your a ****ing boss at it and I will miss the challenge of playing against you. Both you and Hoeeeh have the crazy war skills

As for Councils being abusive I will definitely look into this. I hate that crap and I wish youd of told me what was happening. Im all for staff having fun with non staff but if someone isnt ok with with whats happening then it must stop immediately and everything be restored to rights. Staff, you know who generally are ok with you spawning pigs on them and stuff and whos not. If you think its going to irritate someone DONT DO IT. Players if you feel someone is abusing you TELL ME. Staff if you see another staff abusing a player tell them to stop, help set things to right and inform me.

Merlin not all staff are as active or take their job as seriously as you do. Im sorry you feel there incompetent but they try. Things will happen on the server. Not every greifer will be caught. Some people will hack. Thats ok. Dont let it get you down. **** happens and thats life. Not everything can be perfect. The day LB was derpin you guarded the server all day and I thanked you for it. You didnt need to do that tho. No one asked it of you you just assumed the responsibility. Also dont blame others for not catching all the greifers. Not everyone vanish follows everyone the way you do. again Im not saying thats a bad thing I just dont think its fair to call people incompetent because someone didnt catch a greifer as fast as you did.

As for the enchant system I explained it and explained it and explained it to people and kept getting asked about it. I didnt tell you to shut the **** up. I told everyone to STFU and read the fourm post that was done about it so I wouldnt get 100 PMs on it anymore. Im sorry if you feel that was aimed at you. I maintain that the way the enchant system is done is the right way. Especially with the new ways of getting XP in the updates. XP balls on death create entities. Too many entities cause lag Ive said this over and over.

The vanish plugin is configured the way it is because theres a derp with it and it auto logs in certain groups as vanished. Ive told you this repeatedly Merlin. Im sorry if thats not perfect for you but at this time I cannot fix it. Its not a big deal honestly. Even if you dont catch greifers in the act of greifing with logblock you catch them later. Im not sure why you are so angry about the vanish plugin? Its a usefull tool that we can use but its not the only one and vanish DOES work for you. It just doesnt make you login vanished.

The diamond ore breaking is something Ive tired to add to admins permissions but for reasons unknown doesnt work. Again Im sorry the plugins arent perfect but that is not my fault. You have no idea the time I spend trying to set them up or fix things. I get nothing in return for this except for this ***** fest from you now that somethings arent perfect, Thanks.

I see no purpose of a temp ban when we have Probation. If someone gets banned and wants to appeal they can do it on the fourm. If they seem remorseful I pardon them and put them on Probation.

Merlin I had no idea that you were upset about not getting council. To be honest I was actually going to talk to Neam about giving you Council untill you came out with all of this. As for your thoughts that Ive been cold to you I have no idea where you getting this from. Im very sorry you feel this way. I think your depression comes into play here because Ive only ever been nice to you. I had fun playing war with you and jokeing around with you. Im really baffled at your accusations against me. Also I never once said you were bad staff. I said when you first got admin you were a little harsh and I stand by that. You had a reputation on server for being ban happy and always assuming every player was a greifer or hacker. I had different staff tell me this many times. No one was mad, it was just Merlins way and we all accepted it.

As for hackers you were calling everyone a hacker when they wernt. You are very paranoid about hackers. Again this is something a lot of people have said about you. Again we didnt have a problem with it. It was just your way. I always looked into these situations for you though. Only about twice of the many times you called hacker were people actually hacking and then they were delt with. I even showed you how someone wasnt hacking and it was a glitch. Sometimes youd link me to hacking clients that were over a year old and no longer worked and you told me people were using them when that wasnt actually possible. I tried as nicely as I could to tell you this but you kept believing that everyone is hacking.

As for building in Spawn no one is supposed to unless they run it by me first. You never asked. Your mad about this why?

The further I read your post Merlin my feelings change. I went from feeling sad youve left to now feeling betrayed by you. Your telling a whole lot of ****. Saying that I was cold to you, saying that I yelled at you, saying that I discriminated against you. Thats crap. Im very sorry you have depression and its fulling your anger right now but I do not appreciate being made a scape goat for it. As I said you were demoted because you told me you were leaving. Your mad you got demoted now why? If someone isnt playing on the server why do you care if your banned or demoted or what? Seems like your all using it as an extra reason to jump on the 'waaaah! UVs so meeeeean to me' boat. Ive been nothing but nice to all of you up till now. I run this server as best I can. I do it for free. I spend hours doing it. If you cannot TALK to me about your problems first and instead treat me like **** then you can kindly go kiss my ass. I will not pander to your ********. Basically Merlin I was sad your going. After this Im not. You were excellent staff and a good guy up untill now. Im not sure where you got this hate for me and Im sorry if you felt I yelled at you. In hindsight it was a mistake to make you staff because I didnt realize how seriously you took the job or that it would affect your health or that you would misdirect your rage at me. Despite your animosity to me now I do wish you well. I know what its like to have depression and it sucks. I hope you will calm down and realize that I am not the cause of all your unhappyness. Im not going to ask you to come back to the server as in the state your in I do not want you on it. You seem to have made your own decisions without listening to my side or even asking me. If some day when youve thought about things and cooled down and want to play war or something be happy to play with you (preferably on your team! *_*) I will miss the Merlin I knew for a year. I hope he comes back some day. P.S. Merlin do not make threats against the server. Better people have tired and failed to bring us down


To Cacatee and Wolf: Both of your are very much wanted on the server. The only reason you were demoted is because Dan/Meow/Kanrilla told all of us many times that you were leaving and never returning. I can pull logs if you wish for proof. My job first and foremost if to protect the server. If someone left in what Im told is a huff then I cannot leave them as staff untill I talk to them, and figure out there intentions towards the server. I know a lot of people are feeding all of you lies right now and I invite you to talk to me for some truths. Dont just take one side of the story. I know your both smarter than that.


Dan and Kanrilla. Ive basically said all I want to to you guys. You know what I said last night is the truth whither or admit it or not. Dan you wanted to scam people out of 5000$ and you admited it to many of us some months ago. You didnt play on the server with any regularity so why should I of Admined you? Especially when you used my server to pouch players for your own? (I have people who have told me this and seen chat logs) Kanrilla you had an attitude some months ago which I talked to you about. You got mopey and went on a new server and forgot all about us after I did. When it died off you came back and expected to be staff. I decided to give you a second chance with Neamo vouching for you. Youve been observed by multiple people coming on to just afk to add minutes to your player time to look good.


Ok now to end this book length post. Basically as always, guys if you need to talk to me PM or email me! Im always here to listen. I just get busy in game trying to fix **** or get my chat spammed with messages. Im sorry Im not perfect and that you guys have such a hate for me when all Ive ever tried to do is run a chill server for my friends to hang out on. Ive always said how much I love our staff and players and I mean it. I cannot help if someone you get bored and need a reason to make drama out of nothing or get emo if you dont get promoted when you feel you should of. Im not a mind reader. If you have a problem common sense dictates you tell me.

For starters you got banned for calling someone a fag. Not for xraying, It was your friend that we suspected of that. Two, I find it hilarious that your said, and I quote "your the best of all servers I've been on!" and now your all butt hurt because you didnt get unbanned Whos acting immaturely? If you had of been patient and waited for my reply and not other peoples I would of given you another shot but you wernt and ran your mouth. looooooooooool!

As for how we run the server if someone steals we ban um. Dont like it then go play somewhere else. Our servers been running so long because we have good players and staff who follow the rules and are cool chill people. Anyone else can **** off as far as Im concerned. As for greifers and the unprotected chests we can see whos stolen what so why do we need chest protect? Thats stupid as saying anything thats been built needs automatic protection. We have a large active staff so any **** that happens gets found out and fixed fast. Pretty sure most people appreciate that kind of security on a server And when we ban people we can say do whatever the hell we want. If your stupid enough to greif or steal your fair game.

No one on staff greifes people and then just give a diamond. Youve obviously got a shoddy memory. Staff dont greif people. If they do mess with a player nothing in the end is harmed and the only do it to people who are their friends and ok with it. For example world editing something then immediatley undoing it. Any staff abuse on this server isnt tolerated and thats why it doesnt happen.

Also youve not been banned a year. Half of that.

If you mean when you asked me a few months ago before you started getting the attitude then yes I did say no. You and I talked about it and you were having a down moment about yourself. Im not going to demote someone who truly didnt want it and was just having a bad day because I care about my staff. If you had seriously wanted to be demoted and didnt take a 2 min convo to convince to stay then I would of obliged your request.



To the EC staff: Ive never made it a secret how much I love and appreciate you guys. You all know that I value your opinions and Im here to talk to you. Feel free to PM me on the fourm or in game whenever you want to talk <3

Since I have a lot to reply to here I'll do this the best I can.



Grim: Im not surprised in the least your quitting. Im actually glad of it. You were one of the staff with a bad attitude that Ive wanted off staff for a while now. Weve had talks about this actually you and I. That said weve had some good times and youd been good staff for a while and I will miss that Grim I knew.

Its been blatantly obvious to me and everyone else, that when someone gets promoted to Council over you, you get butthurt and you say some crap about people getting promoted too soon. You never comment when I promo people to Helper or Mod or even Admin but 3 times now with Counicl, the only rank above you, youve said this stuff about unfair promotions. Gee I wonder why?

One, promotions are not solely based on play time as you know. Its good attitude, helpfulness and so on. I dont promote people who are asskissers. Otherwise one player we have on the server right now would be lord of the server if thats what it took. This is also why it took you a while to get promoted. When your first started on this server you did the suck up stuff plus your attitude wasnt great. You bucked up tho and had a good period where you were a great player and stopped the asskissing and then you got promoted.

As for the whole banning to quickly and not being a chill server thats crap and you know it. If people come on and play by the rules you'd be hard pressed to find a more laid back server. If you do something dickish like grief or steal and cant bother to read the rules or abide by them why should we keep those people? If you had so much problem with the way we run things why not voice your issues instead of keeping quiet? The only time Ive heard you say anything is after we promoted someone to council. The way we do bans has not changed since the day weve opened the server and if you think it has its your perception based on the fact your jealous of others being promoted over you.

Anyhoo I will miss the cool Grim we had play on the server for a while. I wish he had stuck around and had voiced his concerns. I know Mentos is quite upset about loosing people he considered friends and I am as well but in the long run if you feel this way its best you and the rest move on. Good luck with things.



Hoeeeh: Youve had a bit of an attitude since day 1 on this server. I dont know if it was the language barrier but that is what has prevented you from being promoted to anything higher than Helper. Had some good times playing war with you but Im surprised youve stuck around as long as you have considering. If you feel like coming back you are welcome to but I will not tolerate bad attitude towards the staff.



Neam: I love you and I think everyone understands why your upset. You feel betrayed and like youve lost friends. I dont think anyone will blame you for being pissed off and making an emotional post. <3


Whammster: I have you and benben on logblock as having stole stacks of wool from a pyramid. The fact that you tried to throw your friend under the bus does not make me want to unban either.


Wolf: Awesome screens <3 Im so glad you were able to get on for a while! Damn girl you make some cool ****!

Hi guys, I'm doing a quick update tour. Basically, the server is fine. We're fine. The authentication system used for minecraft multiplayer is however not fine. I say not fine in the same sense that stabbing a baby in the face with a bayonet is a cruel thing to do, or in the same underplayed subtlety that Joseph Fritzl loved his family 'just that bit more than most fathers'. That's right, I trust that you've swallowed the sallow enormity of this situation, Minecraft be borked. As far as I know it's in the process of being fixed, something that neither I nor Uncanny have any control over, and while I could sit here and ******** you with an easy smile telling you we're doing everything we can, I won't as there is in fact nothing we can do. This, like meteors, nuclear meltdowns and hurricanes is an event beyond our control. We don't know when it'll end, we don't know why it started, and we certainly don't want to inspire you with false hope, other than to tell you a multimillion dollar co-corporation is currently tapping away at a keyboard in attempts to fix it. What does this mean for you? You dear hearts have been given the gift that Fritzl's daughter could only have dreamed of, the chance of experiencing a world beyond the small cave you've carved in cyberspace. I say unto you now, cast aside your machinery, throw open the door and stride into sunshine. BE FREE! For when 1.9 hits, you'll need that Vitamin K to sustain you through the long somber hours of griefing and squelching that befuddles mod makers and server owners alike.

I thought this was a good server. I was banned for reason: "**** off." All I simply did was ask a question. I asked "Is stealing bannable?". I read the rules and all it says is thieving will get you killed. I wanted to make sure so I asked if stealing was bannable and one of the admins started throwing a fit and told me to "read the ****ing rules". Like most people would have done, I got quite upset at the rude behavior of an ADMIN. Worst part is, that admin said that stealing is bannable, when according to the rules, it isn't. Great admin. Being rude to players and staff is bannable but I wasn't being rude directly to the admin. Of course I cursed here and there but I didn't directly insult him/her. He/she then told me to "**** off" and banned me. I recommend reading the server chat log to verify this. I request an unban since I was wrongfully banned. Please note that I'm not trying to start a fight or argument, I just want to play on this server.
