Hi Tom,
I think this is fantastic. It's always great to see Minecraft Classic related projects such as this.
Myself and a team of developers created a similar project. Over the past year we implemented many bugfixes and features including a Protocol Extension.
If you like, feel free to stop by #Classicube on EsperNet IRC if you need any help with your project.
Best of Luck

This... I sort of agree on. Sometimes I find it a bit unfair that admins can right out delete posts and infract people while ignoring others.
I would have to disagree with this. At times, it may appear that moderators are selectively removing some topics or posts while ignoring others but the moderators do not have the time necessary to view every new post in every topic in their section, and have to rely on the reporting system. If you see something that you think is violating the rules, simply hit the "report" button so that the staff become aware of it.
Also, occasionally, forum users think that a post or topic violates the rules and should be removed or locked, when in reality, it doesn't. I have seen countless times when a user posts a "mod pls lock this topic" reply to a completely legitimate topic. Again, if a forum user thinks a topic should be locked, they just need to report it (instead of posting a "lock this topic" reply) so that the staff can review the topic or post. -

UPDATE 6 (29/5 23:24 UTC): Login issues should be resolved now.
UPDATE 5 (28/5 10:02 UTC): Mojang is investigating issues with joining multiplayer games.
UPDATE 4 (24/5 23:03 UTC): We're seeing increased reports of players not being able to log in or join multiplayer servers ("Failed to refresh login" / "Failed to login:Invalid Session (try restarting your launcher)"). We've passed this onto Mojang and hopefully they'll investigate.
UPDATE 3 (24/5 09:18 UTC): Services should now be back to normal. If you are still having issues logging in, please see this article on what you can do.
UPDATE 2 (23/5 15:10 UTC): Unfortunately login issues seem to be back - Mojang is currently investigating. You might also not be able to change passwords/emails.
UPDATE: Issues with inviting people to realms should be resolved. If it's still not working for you, please reply with the following information:
=====
There's been some problems at Mojang's login servers today, which means you may not be able to log into Minecraft at the moment.
Mojang is currently investigating. There is NO ETA when services will be back to normal.
(Earlier on, some users were getting "Invalid IP" errors when trying to log into Minecraft. We're not sure if this is related to the current issues at hand, but Mojang has told us this has been fixed.)

Known issues:
Issue: Can't connect, download or restore Realms
Mojang is looking into it. For now, email Mojang with your Minecraft username and Realm name to get it fixed.
Bug: When opening a pre-1.13 world in release 1.13, Minecraft's telling me I'm in a snapshot.
This bug has been fixed. MC-133942.
Issue: Minecraft crashing when entering main menu.
Try disabling Discord game overlay, or uninstall Discord. Then check out the My game doesn't respond or crashes upon launching! / My game is performing very poorly. section for more advice.
Issue: Old launchers can't play 1.13 anymore.
This is by design. Please use the latest launcher from minecraft.net/download.
Issue: Random Java crashes when running Minecraft client / server.
Make sure you're using Java 8 update 51 or greater. For the client, you should use the bundled version of Java; see the I'm getting an "Unable to locate the Java runtime" error when trying to run Minecraft. How do I fix this? section to find out how.
For servers, you should uninstall all earlier versions of Java, then reinstall the latest version of Java 8 from here.
Issue: Bad performance when playing 1.13.
Mojang is aware. MC-132135
Check out the My game doesn't respond or crashes upon launching! / My game is performing very poorly. section to see if it's definitely 1.13 or it's just you.
Issue: Minecraft crashing when trying to join a realm.
This has been fixed.
Issue: Pre-1.13 worlds would sometimes fail to convert properly
There have been reports of worlds failing to convert properly. Mojang has been notified of the issue.
Issue: Minecraft crashes when run on older Apple computers running MacOS 10.10 (Yosemite) or lower.

What is The Update Aquatic?
The Update Aquatic the latest update to Minecraft, and the first to be released across multiple Editions (Java, Windows 10, Xbox One, Switch, PS4) almost at the same time. There are new mobs, new items, new blocks, new structures, new biomes, new game mechanics, and lots of water. See here for a taster from Mojang. The complete 1.13 changelog is on the Minecraft website, as well as the Minecraft Wiki.
Other Editions have already seen releases for some of the Update Aquatic content, with more to follow. The aspiration is to eventually release it on all extant Editions of Minecraft.
So what is the biggest change?
As outlined by Mojang, the original plan was to have two separate releases, 1.13 "Technically Updated" and 1.14 "The Update Aquatic". The technical update was required to make it possible to add the new blocks and develop the game's mechanics for The Update Aquatic. For reasons these two were merged into a single version 1.13 combining them both.
This update is all about Ocean content. The new Biomes, underwater plants, Fish mobs and Dolphins, structures, will all generate only in new chunks.
How stable is the update?
As with all releases, some showstopper bugs may pop up after the game's release. If you need your game to be stable, it is recommended that you don't upgrade straight away. Instead, wait for a week or two and see if any players report game-breaking bugs, and give time for Mojang to fix them. See How can I stay on 1.12? for more information.
Alternatively, you can backup your worlds by making a copy of your saves folder before upgrading to 1.13, in case anything goes wrong.
What happens when I update my world? Will new ocean content generate in my old world?
Back up your saves. When you first open the world save in 1.13, it will be converted to the new save format and it will over-write the original save.
New content will only appear in newly generated chunks (mainly in Ocean/River Biomes), and will not alter existing chunks (with some exceptions: see below).
How can I delete/reset chunks in my world so they will regenerate in 1.13?
There are several techniques, some more involved than others. Back up your saves first. All of these methods require you to edit the world save before using 1.13.
This is a detailed article on how to use MCEdit and a custom plugin to reset Ocean and River Biome chunks
You can use MCEdit to manually reset chunks, consult the usual MCEdit resources
You can delete chunks using NBTExplorer:
You can fly without a seatbelt, and directly delete files from the save folder by identifying them using Dinnerbone's Co-ordinate Tools (not recommended)
I don't like the new chunks. Can I downgrade my world from 1.13 to 1.12?
As always, downgrading is not, was never and will never be officially supported. Please do not run 1.13 worlds in older versions of Minecraft.
My 1.12 resource pack broke! How do I upgrade them to 1.13?
Because of major texture pack changes in 1.13, a lot of block values have been updated. To fix this, you will need to wait for the resource pack owner to update their resource packs to 1.13.
If you are a resource pack owner, try this tool from Hypixel. Alternatively, see this page on what's changed to what.
My Map Items don't look the same! Has something changed in how they are rendered?
Map Items are rendered differently in 1.13, many blocks that used not to display now display (and some do not display because they are too small).
When will the PS4 and other Legacy Console Editions get this update?
On May 3rd 2018, Mojang officially announced that most Legacy Console editions will be getting the Update Aquatic, but with the exception of PS4 they will receive no further feature updates after this release. All other Legacy Console Editions will cease development.
We don't have a release date yet for PS4. It will likely follow a while after the other Editions.
Where is the Super Duper Graphics Pack DLC?
There's no connection between the Update Aquatic and the Super Duper Graphics Pack. There's no release date yet.
What has happened to the Customized World option? Why can't I migrate my Customized world?
Worlds originally generated using the "Customized World" options can't be opened in 1.13. You can edit the world save level.dat using NBTExplorer to remove the custom settings (change generatorName variable to default, and generatorVersion variable to 1). If loaded in 1.13 you will have the option to use the Optimize World feature to make a world created with the customized option playable in 1.13, but it will use the standard generation.
Why have my commands stopped working? What is the new command syntax?
Many commands have changed syntax, and may have new or changed arguments. Here's an early draft of some of the changes, the Official Wiki page has details of the changes made to commands.
Downloading and Running The Game
What are the minimum system requirements for Minecraft 1.13?
There are no hardware requirement changes for 1.13. If your computer meets the requirement for Minecraft now, it will be able to play 1.13.
However, as 1.13 brings updates to the underlying graphics library, older devices that do not meet the minimum requirements may no longer be able to play Minecraft. These devices are usually over 5 years old and are not built for modern games. In this case, you'll need a new GPU (if you're on a desktop) or a new computer (if you're on a laptop).
You can find the current requirements here.
What's the minimum Java version required for 1.13?
Due to bugs in earlier versions of Java 8, Mojang recommends using the bundled version of Java (1.8.0_51) to ensure maximum compatibility. See this FAQ for instructions to use the bundled version of Java.
Java 9 and later versions are not officially supported at the moment. OpenJDK is also not officially supported - please use Oracle Java to play Minecraft.

How can I update my graphics drivers?
If you need help with updating graphics drivers, this page will guide you through the process. It also tells you how you can get technical support if you are unsure how to update your graphic drivers.
I'm getting an "Unable to locate the Java runtime" error when trying to run Minecraft. How do I fix this?
If you are getting "Unable to locate the Java runtime" errors when launching the game, head to Launch Options -> turn on Advanced Settings -> click on the profile you intend to use (usually Latest release). The Java executable options should be set to Off (grey). If not, turn it off, Save and restart the launcher.
Why can't I download the new server .jar?
The server .jar download site has changed, but the Launcher hasn't yet been updated. You can download the 1.13 server .jar here.
Why can't I download the new update?
Please see this article for ideas. Additionally, check the incompatible software list below to ensure you don't have any incompatible software installed.
What software might interfere with installing / updating or running Minecraft?
This page, maintained by #minecrafthelp, has tons of information on what software may be interfering with Minecraft.
One particular offender is ByteFence. If you are seeing an error message like this, it's most likely caused by ByteFence. It should be uninstalled from your system.
Additionally, on some systems or configurations Discord can cause problems. Make sure to disable the Discord in-game overlay. If you use Discord and are experiencing issues and disabling the overlay makes no change, completely close Discord while running Minecraft.
Why does Minecraft "crash" when I switch versions? How do I create a separate folder for new profiles in the Launcher?
If you are getting problems when switching between versions, it usually means that a shared config file is not compatible between versions. To get around that, create each version with a private profile in the Launcher.
How can I stay on 1.12?
You can do that by creating a new launcher profile. Head to Launch Options, click on Add new, give your configuration a name (e.g. 1.12), from the Versiondropdown select release 1.12.2 (do NOT select "Latest Release" as this will upgrade you to 1.13), then click Save.
To launch 1.12, click on the News tab, and the Play button will now have a dropdown button for you to select your profile. Select your new profile, then click "PLAY".
What is the Optimize World option?
Minecraft 1.13 introduced a new world file format. By default, this happens as players visit already-generated chunks; the game will update the world to the newest format on-the-fly. However, the Optimize World option forces the game to upgrade the world in one go, increasing performance in-game.
The game will normally prompt you to backup and optimize your world when loading a pre-1.13 world. However if you want to do this yourself, on the world selection screen you can select the world and hit the Edit button. From there you should select the Backup World option, then the Optimize world option.
When you optimize a world, the game client will create a backup for you and then go through the optimization process. This process will take different amounts of time based on world size and the computer itself.
For servers, you can pass in the --forceUpgrade argument when launching the server to force it to optimize the world (e.g. minecraft_server.jar --forceUpgrade). It is highly recommended that you manually make a copy/backup of your servers world folder before starting that server up in 1.13 if you have not done so already.
I'm still having trouble running Minecraft. What can I do?
You should open a new thread in this forum. You could also try asking the volunteers in the #minecrafthelp IRC channel for help and advice. Please be patient, they are likely to be very busy.
Realms
When will Minecraft Realms update to 1.13? How can I delay updating Realms until I'm ready?
The Realms server version will not update until the owner of the Realm updates and visits the server. At that point the world save will convert. There should still be a 1.12 profile in the owner's Launcher, so they can switch to that and download the Realm save first if required.
I'm receiving a message telling me to get parental consent before I can play Realms? What should I do?
Because of recent changes in EU data protection laws, all minors must obtain parental consent before they can access Realms. See this FAQ for more information

Hi guys! We have been receiving reports of users on old Macs being unable to run Minecraft 1.13, therefore we're investigating if a bump in requirements is needed.
If you have an old Mac (anything released before 2014), we would like to like to know:
Thanks for all your help!

Hello Minecrafters! As you probably know (by the amount of
spamimportant privacy policy updates in your email inbox), GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations), a new set of EU data protection laws, recently came into effect on 25th May, 2018. Mojang has been working hard to stay compliant, therefore they've had to make a few tweaks in the system over the past week. You can read Mojang's official FAQ here, but here's a few more:
1. What does this mean for me?
For most people, nothing. However, if you are considered underage in your country and purchased Minecraft before 25th May 2018, you will no longer be able to play in realms unless you update your account.
2. Wait, what?
If you are considered underage in your country and purchased Minecraft before 25th May 2018, you may see this screen when trying to play on a realm. This means your parents need to provide consent to Mojang.
If this screen does not show up, it means that your account does not need further action.
2a. What is the underage cutoff for my country?
If you are an EU citizen, this would usually be your country's age of consent, typically between 13 and 16 - check this page to find out.
If you are an US citizen, the cutoff is 13, to comply with COPPA.
For other countries, the cutoff is 16.
3. I see the screen you mentioned. What can I do about this?
Very simple: Get your parent to provide consent by clicking this link. (the page looks like this)
Your parents can provide consent either by paying a $0.10, non-refundable fee with a credit card, or by signing a consent form.
The verification process is exactly the same as the one currently used to verify accounts affected by US's COPPA laws. You can read about the existing process here.
4. Is this common practice? Does Mojang make money off this?
This method of obtaining parental consent is popular amongst companies, and is the most widely used one. As processing this transaction cost Mojang more than $0.1, Mojang does not make any profit from this.
Alternatively, you can also sign a consent form and return this to Mojang, free of charge (minus printing and postage, if applicable). The form can be obtained by contacting Mojang Support. You can either post the consent form, or scan/photograph it and email it to Mojang.
5. My child has a Minecraft.net account (They use their username to log in). Can I provide consent for this account?
No. You must first migrate your account to Mojang Account, then you can provide consent. (You should definitely migrate. Check out this help article on reasons why.)
6. I already provided parental consent for my child for COPPA. Do I need to do this again?
No. Parental consent only needs to be given once.
If you are being asked to provide consent again, please contact Mojang Support.
7. I'm thinking of buying Minecraft for another child. Do I need to go through this verification process?
If you provide parental consent when purchasing Minecraft, you won't need to go through this process again, and the $0.10 fee won't apply to you.
If you are being asked to provide consent again, please contact Mojang Support.
8. I remember a thing called Snooper that sent my PC's specs to Mojang. Is this still turned on?
Snooper is still here. You can always opt out in Settings -> Snooper Settings in the game.
Additionally, Minecraft Hopper is still collecting crashes, but these reports, like Snooper reports, do not contain personal information.
9. Ocelot?
Meow.
Happy Minecrafting!

Your CPU was released 7 years ago. This should be a pretty good indicator of how powerful it is.
5
1. Downgrading
As always, downgrading is not, was never and will never be officially supported! Please do not run 1.10 worlds in 1.9, 1.9 worlds in 1.8, etc.
2. Intel Integrated GPU and random crashing (MC-32606)
Some people with Intel integrated GPUs may see the game crashing from memory access violations. The crash log looks like this:
This is because of a memory leak caused by Intel's drivers (i.e. faulty drivers). This mainly affects 7th to 9th Generation Intel HD Graphics (ig7xxxxx.dll, ig8xxxxx.dll, ig9xxxxx.dll), which ships with 3rd Generation to 6th Generation Intel Core Processors. In layman's terms, if your Intel CPU is Ivy Bridge (Model number ix-3xxx), Haswell (4xxx), Broadwell (5xxx) or Skylake (6xxx), you may be affected.
To work around this issue, make sure you have the latest drivers installed and set VBO and VSync to On in Video Settings (Options -> Video Settings -> Use VSync/Use VBO -> On). Additionally, try allocating more RAM to Minecraft.
3. OpenGL Requirements
The OpenGL requirement for 1.9/1.10 stays at OpenGL 1.3 (from internal sources).
4. Graphics Glitching For No Reason After Upgrading
Minecraft 1.9 makes use of even more advanced OpenGL features than before. If your graphics suddenly started giltching since upgrading to 1.9, chances are that your graphics drivers are out of date.
Make sure you have the latest drivers installed and set VBO and VSync to On and set Mipmap to 0 in Video Settings (Options -> Video Settings -> Use VSync/Use VBO -> On) If you are on a laptop with switchable graphics, you may also want to check that your computer is indeed using the dedicated graphics card.
Nvidia Optimus Instructions
AMD Switchable Graphics Instructions
(Bug report pertaining AMD GPUs here)
5. Getting random block lag?
If you are suddenly getting block lag in 1.9, try lowering your render distance in Video Settings (Options -> Video Settings) to something below 16 chunks. Also, try allocating more RAM to Minecraft.
Common Issues We Are Aware Of
Here are some common issues we are aware of that is not listed above. We at #MinecraftHelp are constantly investigating the cause.
1
Here is a list of currently known bugs and problems:
1. Mac OSX 10.5:
Since Minecraft 1.6, Minecraft no longer supports Java 5 and PowerPC Macs.
2. Mac OSX 10.6:
You'll need to update to 10.6.8 and download Java Update 16.
If you are getting UnsatisfiedLinkError on liblwjgl.jnilib "Reason: image not found", it means that your version of Java is broken. We recommend upgrading to Mac OSX 10.9 instead. Alternatively, install all updates available in Software Updates.
3. Windows:
If you are getting exit code 1 and you find something that looks like this, you need to upgrade your graphics drivers.
If you are getting exit code 225, you need to reinstall Minecraft. Head to your .minecraft and delete everything except the saves folder.
If you are getting exit code 255, it means you are in Fullscreen mode and your graphics drivers are not updated to the latest version. Update your graphics drivers.
4. Modding
Modding may be a little bit confusing in the new launcher, since there is no bin folder - the new launcher supports multiple versions of Minecraft. Either read this topic about it or check out to get modding working. Note that this is a unmodified client forum - for modded client help, head over to the Modded Client Support section for help.
5. Texture Packs are now Resource Packs.
You cannot use a texture pack as a resource pack (and obviously not the opposite). To convert a texture pack into a resource pack, Dinnerbone has made a handy tool here.
6. Java not responding/crashing in fullscreen
If your launcher crashes (Windows tells you Java is not responding, Mac giving you a crash) and it used to work in 1.5.2, uncheck the Fullscreen option in Edit Profile, then manually enable Fullscreen by pressing F11 in Minecraft. To really fix this issue, try upgrading your graphics drivers.
7. Performance Issues
If you're getting dramatic performance drops and are using a computer with both Intel and Nvidia/AMD GPUs, you need to update your drivers for both GPU, then make sure the Nvidia/AMD GPU is always used in either the Control Panel, or the BIOS., Also, allocating more RAM may fix this issue. Hit "Edit Profile" in the launcher, and in the JVM Arguments option, type in the following: -Xms2G -Xmx2G.
8. Server Connections
Because of the new network code, servers that are 1.6.4 or older cannot communicate with each other. If a 1.7 client tries to connect to a 1.6.4 server, you will get an error. This is not a bug, this is because the server is not updated. You can either downgrade to 1.6.4 or wait for the server to update to 1.7.2.
9. java.lang.IllegalStateException: failed to create a child event loop
If you are getting this error, that means an application is trying to stop Minecraft from running. Usually, it is junk software and/or malware.
Hop onto #minecrafthelp and tell the helpers you are getting this error.
10. Launcher unable to download Minecraft files.
This problem is usually caused by malware on the PC, however there are other causes too. Make a new thread with your development console output and somebody will help you.
These antiviruses/softwares are known to break Minecraft:
These antivirus are recommended, however fixes are necessary for them to work with Minecraft:
Macs that are 10.7 or higher that have no Java or Java 7 installed will get a "Java 6 Runtime not found" error. In order to work around this issue, the following steps can be used. As Java 7 only is available on Macs in a x64 package, all Mac versions that encounter this error should be able to use the following steps:
1) Install the following Java files (you need both of them):
3) Save the file as runMC.command and place this file on your desktop. (NOTE: You may need to change the File Type to "All" to save as .command)
4) Open Terminal and run the command:
5) Double clicking the runMC.command file on your desktop should now open Minecraft.
Bug report: MCL-1049

Here is a list of currently known bugs and problems:
1. Mac OSX 10.5:
Minecraft 1.6 currently does not work because of issues in LWJGL (library that Minecraft uses) that is out of Mojang's hands. This will be fixed when the makers of LWJGL fixes this bug and releases a new version.
Since Minecraft 1.6, Minecraft no longer supports Java 5 and PowerPC Macs.
2. Mac OSX 10.6:
You'll need to update to 10.6.8 and download Java Update 16.
If you are getting UnsatisfiedLinkError on liblwjgl.jnilib "Reason: image not found", firstly try installing all available updates in Apple Updates. If it does not work, you're currently out of luck. This is a known issue with no fix at the moment. Official bug report here. If you have more information, make sure you provide your full developmental console output and your system information!
3. Windows:
If you are getting exit code 1 and you find something that looks like this, you need to upgrade your graphics drivers.
If you are getting exit code 225, you need to reinstall Minecraft. Head to your .minecraft and delete everything except the saves folder.

6. Cannot play online
If you can't play online and see this error in your development console output
Log out and log back in, it will fix itself. This is a known issue. Official bug report here.
8. Cannot Control + Click on Macs
If you are on a Mac and Control + Click no longer works, don't fret - This is a known bug and will be fixed in 1.6.2. Original issue here.
