    I have a problem...

So I downloaded the mod, put it in the right place and everything, and then found that liteloader/ a different code i had didn't work. What do I do? Also the control section for liteloader has gone and has been replaced by the auto fish button (v)

It would help to know which version you're running on as a lot has changed over time. 1.13 and onwards no longer uses liteloader as it's no longer maintained.

Hello Troyboy50, I would want some more informations for the instalation of the mod because i'm not very familiar with the .minecraft's files and I don't have the mod folder that you are referring to.

You probably need to create the folder manually. Just name it "mods". Make sure you have the loader installed correctly as well.

hi guys did i did something wrong i launched the minecraft version and i dont have a configuration when i click "v" and it also doesnt work i tried with settings>controls but its nothing there. any help?

    my version- 1.14.2

Is Fabric loading correctly? You should see "Fabric" at the bottom left of the main menu. If not then you're installing it wrong or using the wrong profile.

If Fabric is loaded, the mod isn't installed correctly or you somehow grabbed the wrong version.

Beyond that I would need to see a full startup log to see what's going wrong.

Please do a 1.13.2 rift and 1.14 fabric version and my life will be complete

1.14 is here, I cannot guarantee a 1.13 version because it would be a lot of extra work. If there is a bit of demand for it then maybe.

    Download ChunkBorders 0.4.0 [1.14.2 | 1.14.1 | 1.14]

    • Update to Minecraft 1.14.2, now using the Fabric Mod Loader

    • Added height option to use the highest block below the player (rather than at the player's feet)
    • Added options for chunk corners and chunk walls (the same as the vanilla F3+G behavior)

Since the Minecraft Forum is shutting down, I am moving everything to the mod's CurseForge page. (The link will work once the project is approved). This will likely be the last update posted on this forum. I will continue to provide future updates and answer questions on the CurseForge page.

I Have been using this mod for nearly 100 hours now and i have gotten 0 mending books on the best possible rod, could this be related to the mod?

Definitely not. By design the mod does not touch loot tables or modify any vanilla mechanics in any way (which is why it also works on servers). All it does is essentially send a right click when a catch is detected.

Hey troyboy50 will you be doing a Fabric version for ChuckBorders or is that mod pretty much dead?

I'm nearly finished with a Fabric version for 1.14+. Can't guarantee a 1.13 version since it would be a lot of extra work. I'm wanting to add a couple extra features to make it useful since Minecraft now has most of the functionality built-in, but not sure how much will make it into the first release. If you've got ideas let me know, so far I have an improved Auto height setting which sets it to the height of the closest block below the player instead of directly at the player's feet, and I'm wanting to do the vertical lines that F3+G has.

It will be updated on the forum before it shuts down and I'll have a CurseForge page up before then too.

Updated with a couple of bug fixes for 1.14.2. If you had issues with the clearlag feature then this will fix it. The previous version technically works with 1.14.2 as well.

    Download Autofish 0.8.4 for Minecraft 1.14, 1.14.1, 1.14.2

    • Fixed the chat pattern feature not working at all
    • Fixed an issue where the mod would recast if the user already manually recasted

Since the Minecraft Forum is shutting down, everything is moving over to the CurseForge page. This will most likely be the last update posted on this forum. I'll continue to be active with updates and answering questions over there.

Autofish 1.14 is here and it's now using the Fabric Mod Loader since Rift is essentially dead. Sorry for changing it up so many times but the modding scene is going through a lot of shifts right now. No idea about the future of LiteLoader but Fabric seems here to stay and updates come very quickly.

You can find the downloads for Fabric here. (Click "Vanilla" if you use the default launcher).

Note that Autofish for Fabric has the Fabric API bundled with it, so no need to download the API separately unless you want to have it there for other mods.

    Hi

That sounds great for fabric. Rift worked right out of the box for me in 1.13. Not so for fabric in 1.14 unfortunately. I can't get it to work with the two fabric mods I tried with mineshafter. Can you please publish a foolproof guide on how to install and configure fabric?

Make sure you install the Fabric API too. You just drop it in your mods folder. I had the same issue; it seems strange to me this isn't bundled with the loader.

Will you add a work around for the new mcmmo "Afk fishing" prevention? I have to move my mouse about 8-10 blocks away from the original fishing spot in order to bypass the afk fishing prevention

Probably not, there would just be too many factors to consider for the mod and it's entirely dependent on your fishing location. If you really want to try and get around it you would probably be better off with a script with the Macro/Keybind mod or AutoHotKey so you could adapt it to your needs. Not sure what the extent of the "exploit detection" is (by the wording it seems more geared toward auto click spamming setups) but I'm thinking simply strafing left and right across a few blocks would do it. I'm not a big fan of automatic hindrances like this because I feel it gets in the way of legitimate players too (who fishes for extended periods of time and moves 10 blocks away every time they cast?). Seems like something you'd be better off moderating manually. But the reality of it is that the majority of server owners are not okay with people afk fishing and it's entirely within their rights to try and prevent it.

Could you maybe create a mod or addon to Bedrock Edition?

The Bedrock Edition is an entirely different beast from the java edition. I know there is a scripting API for it, but the Bedrock Edition is written in an entirely different language (one which I don't know) so sorry to say you won't see any support for the bedrock edition from me.

Thank you for your efforts @Troyboy.

Now when it seems the rift version is here to stay, there's one thing that buggers me:

Anyone, should I put the mod jar in the

    • minecraft/mod/13.2 -OR-
    • minecraft/mod

The first is as we are used to with liteloader and forge but doesn't seem to work with rift. The second will probably be cumbersome when you're using several minecraft versions. Will my 1.12.2 versions be confused by finding mods in the mod root folder?

Unfortunately Rift doesn't have support for versioned mod folders. This shouldn't be a problem really because other mod loaders for other versions won't try to load it. They look for litemod.json files or mcmod.info files in the jar, while Rift looks for riftmod.json.

Now if Rift decides to update to 1.14 and you continue to use it, then it will become a problem. However it's looking like this is unlikely to happen anyway since Rift is losing support in favor of Fabric (which updates for snapshots; you can already find a lot of mods for 1.14), and Rift may not even see a 1.14 update. Since the future of LiteLoader is very uncertain, at this point the plan is to move over to Fabric for 1.14, which will probably very quickly update to 1.14 when it's released.
I don't think Fabric supports versioned mod folders, at least not yet, but they do have versions specified in the fabric.mod.json file, so it won't try and load unsupported versions.

To anyone experiencing compatibility issues with other Rift mods, please re-download. I have tracked down the issue and there should no compatibility problems going forward. Sorry for the trouble.

Also for anyone who cares, I made a CurseForge page for the mod.

Alright, Autofish 1.13.2 is complete with a couple new features and added stability.

Those of you using the beta should switch to this version as there are a fair amount of bug fixes in the final release.

Again, this version requires Rift 1.13.2. You can find the Rift 1.13.2 download here. If there is any demand for an earlier 1.13 version whatsoever I can do that as well, just wasn't sure if anyone is still on it.

Download Autofish 0.8.1 for Minecraft 1.13.2

    • Updated to Minecraft 1.13.2
    • Switched to Rift Mod Loader (At least until LiteLoader updates. At that point we will see how the compatibility stacks up in the modding scene and go from there.)
    • Added informational tooltips to the config GUI. Hover over the options to see them!
    • Added a text box in the menu to change the chat pattern for lag clearing plugins, as well as a tooltip to help avoid confusion.
    • Removed the legacy option to double cast on clearlag detection. In newer versions this is never needed (as far as I've seen?) and the option confused people.

You going to do a Rift version for ChunkBorders too I hope :)

Getting around to it soon! Rift doesn't include a ton of built in features so it can be tedious to switch things over.

    UPDATE:

I tried to run this but as soon as I drop it in my mods folder Minecraft crashes. If I remove it everything is fine.

Here is the Pastebin of the crash log.

Thanks. There was an incompatibility with one of your mods that I fixed. Go ahead and redownload and it should be all good

Not going to update the post yet, but here's a quick "beta" release of Autofish for 1.13.2.

The mod is basically complete. The only thing not included yet is chat-based clearlag detection which is coming in the full release. Also mods that add their own fishing rods may or may not work. If anyone has a mod that doesn't work, let me know and I can try and add support.

This version requires Rift 1.13.2. You can find the Rift 1.13.2 download here. If there is any demand for a 1.13 version whatsoever I can do that as well, just wasn't sure if anyone is still on it.

Would like to hear any feedback or issues if anyone comes across anything.

Ok, I've found myself with some free time and motivation so I'm looking to actually have something I can release by this weekend. I took a peek at the mess that is the modding scene for 1.13 (Rift? Fabric?) and it stills seems pretty messy. Forge seems to have 1.13 builds now but it's hard to find much info on how stable it is, and Rift is still an option. I'm leaning towards Forge because it's more ubiquitous, but a more lightweight loader like Rift may be better for a mod like this. Interested to hear some feedback if anyone has good or bad experiences using either Rift or Forge in 1.13.
