Custom staircase... This makes me wish we had properly scaled things.

A stair block of normal size stairs should have about 4 steps in it.

A normal door should be about 1/16th of a block thick.

An interior wall should be about as thick as the current door model.

Some of this can be done with this mod. Walls won't work out very well though.

    Ah well.

(Really, just checking in every day waiting for an update, but I know how that goes.)

posted a message on Help with changing profiles, versions, and mods

The lower left corner of the launcher has "New Profile" and "Edit Profile" buttons, and a profile select drop-down list box. You should have had to use this when you created the Forge profile.

When you create a new profile, you can choose which Minecraft version it will use, or tell it to always use the latest version.

I think sponge is stupid and ugly. What purpose does it serve?

Necro much? But sponge wasn't even available until recently (in snapshots), and has a purpose now. It acts as a sponge.

posted a message on Villager house identifier mod?
    Is there one?

With a complex structure, I'm not quite sure if doors I've placed constitute a house or not, or which side is the inside. Is there some mod which visually indicates this in the game?

Actually, with some tricky editing, you could just put every minigame on a different server, and then charge access to those servers. IF you wanted to have them connect I'm pretty sure there is a way to do that too. I'm sure someone will figure out a way. Trust me, this is gonna be a lot better for Minecraft in the long run.

If you access them without leaving the server and manually logging into a new one, the EULA considers it to be the same server.

Restrictions on how software may be used have never been of benefit to the user.

One does NOT gain more rights or a better experience when use becomes even more restricted.

Stop being an apologist - it is sickening.

    Oh, the horror.
Hmm... you mean "less" restricted, don't you? I mean, your premise of more restriction being bad is accurate, but insinuating that there are more restrictions under the new terms is just wrong.

Well said, I would give you an upvote but it seems I have exhausted my supply for the day.
I'd upvote it, too, and your comment about not being able to, but, yeah....
(and the same for the Q&A analysis that follows it!)

It is possible. However the biggest servers (Mineplex, Hypixel, Hive etc) will not survive. only the little ones will. why? the big ones need to pay more to mcrealms, mcprohosting, etc.
OK, prediction made. See you in September (when those servers have been under the new terms for a month).

Yes, go sign that. Mojang are being forced to enforce the EULA. There have been lawsuits. In response, they are weakening it, so that servers behaiving in what they feel is a fair manner can continue operating. That's a terrible thing, and the only proper course of action is to shut down every server that allows users to pay real money at all, and delete the accounts of everyone running those servers.

That's what you all want, right? Yes? No?

Mojang is not concerned about money, they're concerned about...Oh wait they are. *shrug* Sounds fair. Ish.
No, actually, Notch has said that they could continue running the company without ever earning another... whatever the Swedish equivalent of a cent is..., and just party every day for ten years, on what they have already earned.

Very minor issue: I was typing in the description area of build #4, and found that the unshifted "c" key is not accepted as a letter. Shift+c worked fine, and CapsLock+Shift+c produced the desired letter (CapsLock+c does nothing). Shift+2 also seems to be reserved as a shortcut of some kind, unselecting the instance.

Portal rules say that the portal created in the nether will be within 128 meters of (overworld portal / 8).
When you return, the same numbers apply, so you will portal back to within 128 meters of (nether portal * 8).
Because the formula is not reversed, you may end up as far away from home as 1152(? 128*9) meters, but probably much less, in any direction.
Searching that radius should get you home, but it is quite a trip, as it requires searching within the circle as well.
