    Yes, he is. It's a made-up story from a hoax image:[1][2]

But anyway, I actually heard of him some time in 2016 (even though I've been playing the game for years longer).

posted a message on Changing splash message in Alpha

I'm assuming you're on Windows here, as that's usually the case - and the problem.

The Minecraft JAR contains some files which have names Windows doesn't allow. Converting the JAR to a ZIP and unzipping it exposes these files to Windows, and Windows removes them. Essentially, Windows removes part of the game.

A solution is to use 7-Zip or WinRAR to open a fresh JAR (not the broken one in question) as it is, and editing the splashes.txt file inside, and then saving. (I've never used WinRAR, but I know on 7-Zip, it goes like this: You open the JAR in 7-Zip, you find splashes.txt, you double-click it (which opens a Notepad window with the file's contents), you edit the file as you would normally, Ctrl+S to save, close Notepad, and then 7-Zip gives you a popup asking if you'd like to apply those changes or whatever, you allow it to, and you now have a modded JAR (that should work)!)

minecraft accounts aren't linked to discord

This might be a Bedrock issue, where it's an Xbox Live account - which can be linked to Discord.

From my knowledge of Discord, I believe you can link the Xbox Live account straight to the new Discord account, without any problems.

posted a message on Minecraft making fans run really loud?

Those are decent specs, so you'd assume you'd get some heat. Minecraft is a poorly coded game (for the most part).

I'd suggest getting some canned air or similar, and cleaning out as much dust from your PC case as possible. Dust creates a lot of heat, which the computer tries to combat with making the fans go faster. (Remember to hold down the fans so that the compressed air does not spin them fast, as DC motors (the kind in PC fans) can both receive electrical current, and spin; but they can also spin, and give electrical current back into your computer - which could possibly cause damage)

Also try tuning down the graphics settings as much as you're comfortable with doing.

    1. This is a Bedrock (and Legacy Console) feature? Why post it here? And,
    2. Some people need it. That's the closest thing Minecraft has to an official in-game guide. New players know nothing; so this helps.

posted a message on How do I get small letters?

Minecraft wouldn't display uncommon Unicode characters like that in the normal Minecraft font. The Minecraft font mainly sticks to what you can type on your keyboard. (The Unicode font can be forced on (Options -> Language -> Force Unicode Font), too) It looks like this:

    Displaying-texts Offset When use Force Unicode Font · Issue #809 · sp614x/optifine · GitHub

I'd say the "AFK" text there is the work of a plugin. There are some servers (mainly UHC ones) which show a player's hearts in the tab list. I'd say the plugin here has drawn that text as well.

With mob spawning, lower is always better. Mob spawning ticks are run from Y 0 and go up.

An example of this is Gnembon's Enderman farm:

That's like 15 Endermen per second!

Ah, sorry; makes sense. I just didn't read the thread over and thus had no context.

Another thing that happens (on my server), is that the chunks just stop being sent - and if you go outside of the loaded chunk, you basically fall (Quite slowly, actually, as if you have Slow Falling (But this server is on 1.6, so the Slow Falling effect doesn't exist yet)) down and out of the world. Almost as if the unloaded chunk was made of air.

posted a message on Enchantment restrictions..! Why?

Mojang does not combat P2W in-game. The game's decisions are for the vanilla survival playing experience only.

Mojang fights P2W with things like the EULA.

Maybe close your thread if you've fixed it? Giving the solution you used would also help anyone who came across this thread over Google, if they had the same problem.

You'll find it's quite easy to be shot by a Skeleton then blow yourself up.

I personally find it more impressive when people rename Creepers, anyway; because they have to get close enough to the Creeper to rename it but not let it explode.

I also find "Player fell out of the world" messages more interesting. I have no other operators on my server (So no /kill) and no holes in the Bedrock layer. So how do they fall in to the void?

posted a message on Finding diamonds is easy now. How long will this last?

Diamonds are in no way obsolete. Even with Netherite tools and armour, Diamonds are still used as currency and as a status symbol. This is something that will take Netherite many, many years to overcome.

The Swamp Clay method is reverse-engineering of the complicated Minecraft RNG. The Lapis Ore method is a quirk of simpler RNG.

The Lapis Ore method can be patched easily. The Swamp Clay method will take a rewrite of a lot of Ore Generation RNG code.

The fact that the Swamp Clay method takes 40 minutes of maths to explain details how it'd take months for the Mojangsters to patch.

Plus, the Swamp Clay method has existed since 1.14 - perhaps even further back - if it wasn't patched then, it probably won't be patched now.

The Lapis Ore thing could be a bug, but I can say that the Swamp Clay one isn't. The Swamp Clay one links 3rd Stage World Generation with Ore Generation - it's part of how Minecraft works, and can't be replaced easily without a big rewrite.
