It has begun...

What is up guys? Yes that's right the sky, and now I'm going to go on a rant about your Average Modern Xbox/Playstation fanboy. I will be splitting this up into a few sections on why I despise them, if you have a good counterarguement, please post it. If you're just going to whine at me, don't post, I want mature replies please.


How they judge a game:
Honestly, I hate it how these kids judge games. What they consider a good game is a game with graphics. I have seen SO MANY of these kids say they want to buy a new game, because it has "better graphics". No other reasons provided. I took a survey around my school, and most kids preferred to have a game with GTA 5 graphics (where you can just walk, that's it) over an old Mario Game with an enhanced story line. It amazes me! How do you only play a game because of it's graphics? I base my opinions on games through gameplay, originality, and fun.

Hating on Nintendo, for what good reason?
Why do people hate on Nintendo so much? I don't understand, it's just as good as a company as Microsoft or Sony! In fact, Microsoft and Sony have both taken a few small ideas from Nintendo and implemented them into their products! I ask the kids at my school why they hate Nintendo, and they replied with "The Graphics Suck!", at that point I was ready to shoot myself in the foot. I'm not even going into how I think of that, because the above section explains how I feel about the "Graphics Only Gamers". So, I continue to tell them that the the new WII U is an HD console, and they say that that sucks too. I ask them why, and there was no reply. Every person I asked, had no good reason for hating on the WII U. So I say to myself, they complain about graphics, but if you make the graphics better, they still complain over nothing. I think I've come to the conclusion that it's just a mainstream thing to hate on Nintendo.

Apparently It's a "Gay" game if it has no Guns!
Apologies on the use of the word Gay, but that's what I was told. I was talking about the new Pokemon X and Y coming out with one of my friends during P.E. and a kid walked up to us both and called us gay, along with the games we played. I asked him why he called Pokemon gay (I didnt care that he insulted me, because I get that a lot for being a Nintendo Fan) and he said, it's because "It doesn't have guns".

What I personally Consider a Gamer
There are not many people I consider to be actual Hardcore/Dedicated gamers. I have a decent amount of requirements for somebody to be called a true gamer, and even I don't meet all of the requirements. Here's a list:

1. Why do you buy a game? If you buy a game because everyone talks about it, you're not a gamer, and don't lie to yourself saying that you like it, remember, a liar only cheats himself
2. Why do you play a game? Is it because a friend plays, or are you personally interested in the Game/Series? For this, either one is OK, but remember, it has to be enjoyable.
3. Have you played any old games? By this, I don't mean games that came out in 2005, I mean games for the NES, SNES, GB Color, and Sega Genesis. A true gamer has gone to the roots of gaming.
4. Do you judge a game before or after you play it? If you judge a game before you play it, you are not a gamer in my opinion. A gamer should only critique on personal experience, not what others say.
5. Do you still play games from your childhood, or the series of the games you played? If yes, you are great, even it's randomly. I still play Mario, Sonic, and Pokemon!
6. What are you open to? If you only play one platform, genre, or even series, I can't consider you a gamer. I understand people have preferences, but don't judge a book by it's cover, or in this game, a disc by it's box!

I hope this was no irritating to everyone, and that some people may actually agree. Remember, this is all opinionated. Some peopel share my opinion, and others may not. If you want my opinion on a specific game, ask me. If I haven't played that game, I'll tell you I haven't but I'll watch something about it and tell you what I think from a third-person perspective.And also, please only post professional and respetful replies, I don't want a ton of people spamming "You suck", because remember, this is my opinion!

(Side Note: Anyone else happy about the new Smash Bros. and X/Y?)

I really like this server, and I litterally just joined right now. But I think getting the /back command and CMD (the one with /cprivate) would help a lot.

Disclaimer: This thread is not meant as a copy of Destroy the Wall, Destroy the Citadel, or Destroy the Evil Music Disc. It is meant simply for fun, as I decided to have a "Destroy the" thread made by me. Credit to the creators of those topics.





This thread allows users to destroy or defend the Tower. The destroyers want it gone because it contains Trillions of Diamonds, and the defenders must guard it down to the last second of their lives. Let the war begin.

A few rules:
Don't disrupt the topic.
You can charge/build up to two things simultaneously, but doing so prevents you from performing an Attack.
Charging/building one thing and performing an Attack is allowed.
You cannot Attack twice in at once.


Here goes.



Tower:
Health: 10,000 (When depleted to 0, another, harder round begins)
Shields: 1,000 (Defends for a certain percentage of attacks)
Status: = Fine
Boosts: None (Boosts give the Tower extra defense, health, or any other positive effect)
Curses: None (Curses give the Tower lower defence, health, or any other negative effect)


Health System
Preforming attacks will damage the Tower for each successful attack. Unsuccessful attacks do little to no damage. The more damage the Tower sustains, the status of the Tower degrades. If the Tower's status isn't Green, Defenders need to help the Tower!
Defenders must heal the Tower up to 40,000 to win, because this will cause the Tower to become indestructible. They can also win by keeping the Tower's status at Fine until the Round ends.


Shield System
If the Tower has Shields, it will have a percentage of defense. The higher the percantage of defense, the less effective attacks will be, but Shields absorb the percentage of damage removed from Health Damage. (Easier: If Shields give 50% defense, Health takes 50% damage, Shields take the other 50%)


1,000 Shields: 90% defense
900 Shields: 75% defense
750 Shields: 60% defense
500 Shields: 45% defense
400 Shields: 30% defense
150 Shields: 15% defense
0 Shields: 0% defense

Vehicle System
Defenders and Destroyers may create Vehicles to assist them in Defending/Destroying the Tower. Some may be quick to assemble, but at the cost of difficulty in being destroyed. Others may take more time to build, but will require concentrated effort to destroy. Vehicles may have multiple Weapons, each with their own Ammunition and Damage values, with special effects attached to them. Vehicles' Shields always provide 50% defense, so long as there is at least 1 Shields point. The maximum amount of Health a Vehicle can have is 15,000. The Shields cap is 6,500. If a Vehicle has an overall ammo pool, its ammo cap is 10,000. If it has individual ammo counts for each weapon, it can have no more than 20 ammo.
For ammo consumption from an overall pool, here is a table for Damage to ammo consumption ratios.
Less than 600 Damage: 0-250 ammo
600 to 800 Damage: 250-500 ammo
800 to 1,000 Damage: 500-750 ammo
1,000 to 2,000 Damage: 750-800 ammo
2,000 to 3,000 Damage: 800-1,200 ammo
3,000 to 5,000 Damage: 1,200-2,000 ammo
5,000 to 7,500 Damage: 2,000-3,000 ammo
7,500 to 8,500 Damage: 3,000-5,000 ammo
8,500+ Damage: 5,000 ammo minimum
The maximum amount of Damage that a Vehicle can potentially deal cannot go higher that 10,000 Damage of any type. These limits assume your Vehicle has a construction time of 150+ posts by you. Make your Vehicles like this (Green name for Defender, red for Destroyer):

Pointstreaks System
Vehicle makers can add up to three Pointstreaks to their Vehicles. They are completely optional, yet entirely custom. They are custom-made by the Vehicle builders. To earn a Pointstreak, you must create a name, effect, and requirement for it. Requirements can range from 650 to 2,500 points. When points is used, it's defined as XP earned with that Vehicle. When your Vehicle is destroyed, your streak ends. It is possible to wrap your Pointstreaks around to the first after earning your last. Here is an example of a set of three Pointstreaks:

Overheal System
Healing the Tower over it's maximum Health will cause it to become Overhealed. While Overhealed, the Tower will constantly lose 500 Health until it's Health is back at maximum, at which point the Health loss will cease. Also, Overhealing the Tower will half the effects of healing.

Weapons System
Weapons are other charged/built items that modify standard Attacks by giving them increased Damage or special effects. They cannot be stolen or broken, but if they run out of ammo, they can be resupplied by charging another version of it. For example, resupplying a weapon that took 20 posts to build will take another 20 posts. If a weapon runs out of ammo, the only way to permanently get rid of it is to discard it.
Here's an example of a basic weapon.
Generic Gun
800 Damage
4 uses
This weapon, on the other hand, has special effects.
Status Cannon
600 Damage
Applies a random Curse to Target
3 uses

Scoreboard and Experience
The scoreboard counts a player's Damage dealt, wins, losses, Vehicles destroyed, and experience. Higher-up players are shown at the top, while lower-ranked players are shown farther below. There are multiple ways of earning experience:
Dealing Damage: +0.5 XP per point of Damage dealt (IE: 1,000,000 Damage dealt would grant 500,000 XP)
Destroying a Vehicle: +50 to 500 XP depending on Vehicle Health
Winning a Round: +500 XP
Losing a Round: +100 XP
Earning a Medal: +100 XP (2,500 for Hardened Veteran)
Vehicle destruction assist: +25 to 250 XP depending on Vehicle Health
Helping a teammate build a Vehicle: +10 XP

Vehicle upgrades
You can further enhance your Vehicles using Vehicle upgrades. Each upgrade has its own positive effects, but each have a research time. Completing research will allow you to install the upgrade onto your Vehicle. You can also have up to three integrated Vehicle upgrades on your Vehicle, one for every 50 posts it takes to build the Vehicle. However, if an upgrade's research time is over 25 posts, it cannot be integrated. You can have one upgrade from each category.

Contracts
Contracts are essentially challenges. When completed, they will reward you with an XP boost. Their difficulty and XP rewards vary from Contract to Contract. Here is a complete list of Contracts.

Vs. Rounds
A Vs. Round plays out like a regular Round in most aspects, but there is an added "Vehicle"; the Destroyer Base Camp. Defenders must destroy the Base Camp for an instant win, while still defending the Tower. After two standard Rounds, a Vs. Round will occur. The Round time limit is still in play. If the Round ends with the Base Camp having less Health than the Tower, Defenders win, and vice versa for Destroyers.

Classic Rounds
A Classic Round occurs after every Vs. Round. When such a Round occurs, the Tower's Health and Shields will be set to 10,000 and 1,000, respectively. Also, Vehicles cannot be constructed. Any Vehicles that have Round End Protectors before a Vs. Round will simply be put into stasis and not lose their REP.

Medal System
Certain accomplishments will earn you a Medal, which will immortalize these accomplishments. Some Medals are easy to earn, while others could pose a significant challenge. Good luck earning them!

I am sorry you had such a bad experience with the server. However, what the person did was 100% correct. If you did not want to PVP while entering a PVP server than that is your fault.

On a second note, PVP on the server is toggle-able per user. If you did not intend to play in a PVP manner your could of turned it off to protect yourself. As for my Admins, they were also in the right as well. If you where to read all information available about server rules via our face book page, you would of know that the Admins play the game for fun as well and are not simply on just to cater to your every wimp and whine.

Also on a third note, I know the player who killed you and got his story and another story from a person who witness the situation. You were not welcome to his home and he made this very clear to you. You choose not to take heed to his warning and you were punished.

Since you have caused such a problem for a false complaint you are not welcome to the server ever again.

Hello Everyone! This is my first post and my first Minecraft survival map which i some why named, "Sky Island Survival." This map is basically what the name gives it, its a floating island in the sky. So you spawn in with sunrise and nothing in your inventory, (obviously...) and because i had to make the island by hand, (i'm ashamed of this part...) i forgot to build it with ores! So when i was done, i had to go inside the middle of the map and place all of the ores. because this was very time consuming, i arranged the ores like this:


--Coal is on the outside of the island and a little bit on the inside of the island, iron is placed mostly on the inside, but also on the outside, the redstone is placed on the outside, the gold is placed on the far bottom outside, and lapis is the same as gold but a little bit more up, and lastly diamond is placed everywhere on the bottom.--

So now that that's done, here's your goals:
Build a clay chimney
Build a two story house out of cobblestone and wood
Make a skeleton mobspawner trap (for those who know how)
Find the big pack of diamonds with 50 Diamonds.

Hello Miners!
I recently wanted to get discs easily, cheaply and legit too. i have finnaly found that method. first you build an 'idiot trap'. you dig a plus sign into the ground 1 block deep. then replace the center block back. make four pistons, any type, and place them facing UP in the four holes. place a pressure plate in the centre. now, if you step into the trap, the pistons will go up and trap you. except for the roof. place a block on the pressure plate and one on the top of that, then remove the lower block. when a 2 block tall mob walks onto the pressure plate, pistons on all 4 sides come up and it is trapped. it can't jump either. this is called the idiot trap because even a N00B won't fall for it. creepers are even stupider. now, make another one 2 blocks to the side of this one. they should be alike.
now the fun bit. don some strong armor (you WILL be shot by the skeleton a couple of times and i completly depleted a set of iron armor doing this) , grab a fishing rod and some food. wait for night fall. then find a creeper or skeleton and lead them to the trap. use the fishing rod to speed them up. stand on the opposite side and they will walk onto the plate and get trapped, repeat the process with the other type of mob. for a disc to be dropped, a creeper MUST be killed by a skeleton. what you should do is get a creeper in one trap and a skeleton in the other. build a large roof rather than one block so that the skeleton will not die in the sun. get the mobs in place then wait. you might want to punch the creeper 5 times or use a bow and arrow for 2 shots. i recommend using a bow because i ended up getting too close to the creeper while punching and ruined the trap. hide from the skeleton behind the creeper and wait until the creeper is killed by the skeleton. only the last coup de grace must be dilevered by the skeleton so try not to punch the creeper to death. after one dies, collect the disc and find another. i got around 12 discs in 4 nights using this method. (far, mall, strad, strad, strad, blocks, chirp, mellohi, ward, ward, ward and !@#% ward)
i hate it when creepers drop the same discs
this is legit, simple and only costs 8 iron and redstone to make the pistons.

i hope you all benefit from my idea. feel free to comment unless you are saying someone else thought of this. i thought of this and learnt of the idiot trap and put them together. someonelse might also think alike so good for them but i did not learn this anywhere else.
