Hmm. I want to say that I downloaded this at some point. Are you still working on it?

Taking a break while I'm busy playing other stuff, but I'll continue work on it at some point!

Hello there! Welcome to the world of Pokémon!

Download the latest version (v18, June 11, 2016) here - requires Minecraft 1.8.0 or higher!

Links:

This map's webpage, which includes all of the following:

Download links (alternate, changelog, chart)
Quick-start guide
Map
Progress reports
List of changes from the games
Trivia
Videos

Since this map has a lot of loud, ugly pressure plates, it's recommended to download this small resource pack. It can be loaded alongside your standard resource packs and simply makes stone pressure plates silent and invisible. Installation instructions are included in the download.

This is a very large map containing the regions from the main-series Pokémon games. It is still a work-in-progress.
Areas contained in this map:

• Kanto (Red, Blue, Yellow)
• Johto (Gold, Silver, Crystal)
• Hoenn (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald)
• Sinnoh (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum)
• Unova (Black, White, Black 2, White 2)
• Kalos (X, Y)

It also contains a few, mostly unfinished areas from these games:

• Orre (Colosseum) - contains Phenac City and Outskirt Stand

The Sevii Islands exist, and can be accessed via a ferry in Vermilion City.

Currently, all exterior areas in all six main-series regions listed above are complete. Interiors for every building in every region except Sinnoh are complete.

There are minecart tracks connecting every region together, with stations in Saffron City, Goldenrod City, Lilycove City, Jubilife City, Nimbasa City, and Lumiose City. There is also an express line between Nimbasa City and Jubilife City. Each station has a button that will teleport you to that region's starting house.

Secret bases in Hoenn are present. Each entrance is blocked off with a cloth block similar in color to the surrounding blocks (brown blocks on dirt walls, for example). The bases themselves are of varying sizes and shapes, not corresponding to their in-game layouts.

All PokeMarts in the game have villagers that will trade mob drops for potions and supplies.

When playing with multiple players, watch out when hitting buttons and stepping on pressure plates. Make sure you remain near the button/plate and remain the closest person to it until it's done doing whatever it does (usually talking to you) so you don't end up missing dialog or having it messaged to the wrong player. Gyms should usually be completed by one player at a time if they're more complex (such as the Vermilion switch puzzle). Very simple gyms can be completed by multiple people at once.

Here are the important server settings. Everything else can be pretty much whatever you want. Monsters don't have to be enabled for the map to work, it's just a bit boring without them. Feel free to keep them disabled if you just want to explore:

level-name=pokemon
enable-command-block=true
spawn-monsters=true

For more detailed information, please view the dedicated webpage for the map here!

uh is this build dead?

Nope! I'm actively working on it as I type this. I'm adding interiors to Unova and overhauling the region to match the games better and use the new blocks from 1.8 (quartz, banners, etc.).

Update time! (Wow, it's been nearly a year since the last update...)

I've created a new resource pack that you can load on top of your existing resource packs:

Since this map has a lot of loud, ugly pressure plates, it's recommended to download this small resource pack. It can be loaded alongside your standard resource packs and simply makes stone pressure plates silent and invisible. Installation instructions are included in the download.

Download link (135MB)

Changelog:

• All Kalos interiors (gyms, buildings, etc.) have been added
• Improved how map progress is reset. All new players are forced to initialize their objectives when leaving Pallet Town for the first time to properly initialize the scoreboard. Players can also reset their progress here or set everything as completed for a 'free roam' experience
• Updated some Lumiose City exterior areas
• Added the Depth Strider enchant to Dive HM items (leather helmets) - this lets you move faster underwater
• When entering cities and other major areas, the name of the city/area now shows up on your screen momentarily (/title)
• Updated the look of Opelucid City (Black version) and added a secret behind a sign...
• Added buttons to open and close the Kalos Pokemon League door
• Added Bicycle items to Sinnoh (Eterna City), Unova (Day Care), and Kalos (Cyllage City)
• Rebuilt the Tubeline Bridge to resemble Scotland's Forth Bridge, which it was apparently modeled after
• Completely rebuilt the Johto Safari Zone and the surrounding routes. The mechanic whereby you control the layout of the Safari Zone is 100% implemented!
• Added rock boundaries to any water routes that didn't have any boundaries (except east of Undella Town for now)

Some improvements to gyms:

• Replaced gym leaders (heads on fenceposts) with armor stands, which look much nicer
• Moved the Azalea and Celadon gyms to outdoor areas
• Rewired the Pastoria gym so it's more realistic
• Rebuilt the Vermilion gym
• Made the Sunyshore gym actually solvable! Previously, it just gave you a static path to the Gym Leader in lieu of a puzzle

Added some missing interiors:

• Johto Pokemon League Reception Gate, Victory Road, and Elite Four
• SS Aqua between Vermilion and Olivine
• Opelucid City (White version) and White Forest in Unova. There's buttons at the entrances to these areas to change which versions you enter
• A house in Saffron City
• Battle Tower, west of Olivine City (from Pokemon Crystal)
• Desert Underpass in Fallarbor Town
• Johto Safari Zone
• Embedded Tower in Johto

Bugfixes:

• Fixed a major bug that caused some storyline stuff to not work at all for new players. To fix this, everyone has their scoreboard objectives properly initialized when they enter Route 1 from Pallet Town. You can also go to Pallet Town to reset your storyline progress, or set everything as 'complete' for a 'free roam' experience
• Fixed the Trick House in Hoenn not teleporting you to the correct spot upon finishing a layout
• Fixed a bunch of maps on walls in Kanto displaying the wrong map
• The Regi chambers in Hoenn should work more reliably now
• Fixed the northern entrance to Floaroma Meadow not being right at all

A couple questions:

- Do you have plans for future updates of this map?

- When do you think that your next update release will be?

- Am I allowed to use your map in a future server project?

1. Yes

2. Very soon, within a week

3. Yes, just don't tell people you made it yourself

Can you please make a Pocket Edition Verision Of This Map?

Nope. PE is missing a great deal of blocks that my map has in it, so converting would be impossible.

While I'm responding: for anyone who cares, I'm very close to a new map update, adding among other things, every Kalos interior and gym. It should be ready in a week or two.

This map is amazing considering that you have been building since 2010. The sheer size of the entire map makes me question your sanity.

I especially like how you made Lumiose City. It must have taken a long time.

Building the outdoor world is really fun, it's not really work at all. Interiors are a lot more work due to the time it takes to find a suitable empty underground area to put them in and connect the doors up with teleport commands and everything. Storyline stuff (scoreboard objectives, "Need x to pass" signs, pressure plates, etc.) is my least favorite part, but thankfully it's not as much work as actually building the world.

Lumiose took about a week of nonstop work, by far the most time spent on a single city or route.

Are there specific directions to install the map?

Load it like any other map (.minecraft\saves folder for singleplayer), no mods required, make sure you're on 1.7.2 or higher.

Quote from Cynical_Dolphin

Are there any required mods I need for this? Playing this feels strange, like everything is empty. D:

No mods. Pixelmon would be a good addition if/when there's a 1.7 version, but I don't think it'll be populated with apricorn trees or item balls/chests :(

If you're running it in 1.6, the latest version of the map isn't compatible as it contains 1.7-only blocks. The latest version that supports 1.6 is v14 (download it here: https://tonyfox.ws/mc/pokemon/download?file=pokemon_v14.zip)

So I have been playing through and i noticed that there are only villagers in the first pokemart and none of the otherones.
Anyone else experience this?

Yes, only the first Marts in each region. It's quite a lot of work to add new Marts and the prices/offers aren't set in stone yet so I don't want to go through the trouble of adding every single Mart until I have prices I'm happy with.
