Question: If a horse only requires 5 leather and 3 iron to ride, can jump high enough to cross terrain like fences, and can move that fast, then who will ever build minecart systems?
People who want to automate transport, let other people use their transport, not have to take their horse everywhere with them, people on servers who use a warp/teleport system meaning it's hard to take a horse with them...I'm sure there are more
I do agree they might be a bit too good though, I think they need a hunger system that goes down when moving (but not when idling or just existing)

I've been looking at that Mo Creatures mod and when I went down the list to the manta rays and whatnot, it really made me think how lacking ocean biomes are. Except for the rare squid here and there, they really are empty and uninteresting. I'd really love to see a bunch of new sea creatures added to them to actually make finding an ocean biome an exciting event instead of a huge pain in the butt just to get to the other side.
For that matter, I hope there's a focused update one day that sort of fleshes out the Overworld and Nether a bit more with more creatures, more random buildings/biomes/etc, and maybe even some cool events like a zombie horde appearing randomly or asteroids crashing and yielding some sort of space substance. Just some food for thought.
Agreed, a hostile ocean mob would be cool too, a shark maybe? or an evil killer squid

There is also a problem where, mainly when no one is online, it says the server is offline despite it being online (and it has been online for at least 24 hours in a row without a restart for updates, it wasn't just after an update) and I'm wondering whether this might be linked to this. It doesn't always show offline, but there is a pretty high chance it does, almost always when all people are offline.
It is an online host and this is the first time we've been through an update so I'm wondering if we need to delete the jar? It can't just take a restart as we've had 1 or 2 since the console started saying 1.6.1 in the selection and it is definitely still 1.5.2.
I've also been hearing that 1.6.1 is quite buggy (we have craftbukkit dev as that's what my friend put it on when he started it, rather than recommended so I'd like to switch to the recommended build if safe but I'm not sure how I'd go about doing that, whether it's a simple as a dropdown window (see picture above) of if I'd need to delete the jar etc, I deal mainly with the plugins side of things btw.Minestatus also says it's 1.5.2 btw

However it is actually not 1.6.1 (I'm running 1.5.2 with magic launcher which is why 1.6.1 is incompatable)
Any ideas?
My other questions is, if it hasn't yet switched to 1.6.1 is it safe to change back to craftbukkit 1.5.2 or is it to late already? (I didn't realise my friend set it to the dev build when he first made the server)
Those are my options btw. Just as extra info we do run quite a few plugins so needs to be highly compatible.
Thanks

A) Reset world (annoys members) (a lot)
/B) Travel out to new chunks (lots of travel, have to ride is back as you can't tp an entity)
C) Use spawnmob/spawn signs (can add a cost to signs, I.e. sell horses to players)
D) Sell/give out spawn eggs
Even when the chunks are new I'm not sure if they spawn everywhere or just in certain random chunks, but they wont spawn naturally in old chunks.

I'm still getting the same error, it says offline but I can join fine. Earlier it was removed by minestatus - despite supposedly being up (I checked uptime and it has been running all day) but it is now back up, I've no idea what is causing it still. There's no error when joining the server, it just seems to be a display issue or maybe it's rejecting the ping or something like that.

The server appears offline in people's multiplayer section of the minecraft launcher, however the server is online and if you ignore the message and click join you can get on the server just fine, the main problem with this is that people who don't know to click join whatever it says think we are offline, which we aren't.
Our IP is: 94.23.49.216:25590
Thankyou for any help, much appreciated.

How about some sort of cargo boat that can be guided by marker buoys?

I would consider supporting a cheaper version which uses plenty of feathers and just allows gliding as I think it's more realistic (and we already have feather falling boots so it so it wouldn't be too radical), can't be used to break adventure maps or grief servers (flying over barriers but would probably get disabled by the servers anyway), doesn't give easy ways out of fights and doesn't make glowstone harvesting and scaling nether fortresses too easily. I'd also definitely support a method of crafting feather falling boots using feathers and something else, for example leather, as it may cut out enchanting but only has leather durabily and provides a good enchanting replacement for low levels. It also means it is still worth enchanting boots to get feather falling (and protection etc) on better boots i.e. iron etc (which realistically couldn't have feather falling without a magical enchantment.)
