Jan 22, 2013Just a small suggestion, that perhaps should've gone in the topic by that name...Posted in: Suggestions
Basically just a Track block that can be placed without a block under it, but has to have a normal, Detector, or Booster Track on at least one side of it (to prevent huge cheap bridges made of these).
Bridge Tracks will flip up like Trapdoors when either right-clicked or powered with a Redstone signal. When up, they will allow carts that hit them from the "back" end to drop "through" them and simply stop carts that hit them from the "front" (hinge) end. They also have a collision box the width and length of a block but a thickness of near-zero, so that they basically have a flat collision box just like you would if you had another block under a normal Track. When down, they will act the exact same way as normal Track except for the fact that they have a collision box and (obviously) don't need a block under them.
They will look like normal Track with a 3D wooden box under them somewhat like a wooden Pressure Plate. They can also be activated by adjacent Detector Rails.
Edit: Changed the physics portion and organized the ugly wall of text. It still is a bit confusing, though...

Perhaps this bug isn't so bad? An added inefficiency to slightly limit the potential size and benefit of absurdly massive automated farms and factories.
That's actually true... however a set chance of losing an item, or perhaps just fuel, going into a furnace from a Hopper might be a better idea, in my opinion.

*facepalm* Notch doesn't even work on Minecraft at all any more. I'm really starting to wish he did though...

But it doesnt make sense to me. A wooden chest out of a blazing hot golem?
And plus, it makes sense for the drops to be on ground because of the fact that the golem collapsed.
Make it an Obsidian chest or something then, or a Hollow Obsidian Rock. Something you can take back as a souvenir.

I very much like the base idea, but it seems that this could be a lot of work. Also i don't like the idea of a new boss, (the ender dragon is really kind of "the boss," and i don't feel that minecraft is a game filled with bosses.)
The boss belongs in a mod, but the temple is a very good idea
I agree. The temple should have some kind of trap, probably utilizing some new block they add, spikes, maybe. It would also be cool, since Nether Fortresses are going down into the lava, to have these Nether Temples hanging from the Nether's ceiling.
...And if you're going to have a boss, I recommend a big cyclone made out of flaming black heads with white eyes (different from Wither heads though) that shoots fireballs at you.

There will never be a 2.0....It will go to 1.10
Haha. Not exactly, but a 2.0 would have to be a MONUMENTAL change... I can't even imagine, at Mojang's rate of development, how they could accomplish something like that unless they stopped updating for a year. And yeah, it will go to 1.10, 1.11, etc. until/until if they manage to make a 2.0.

1) Makes the game way too easy to get resources
2) Makes mining a pointless task
3) I like to build underground without having to fill in massive areas.
4) They lose their magic as a "nice find" when you're tripping over them every 20 blocks.
5) It's just my own preference.
Agreed. Nobody here (I hope) has a thing against caves, but most people with some sense have problems with the infinite spaghetti cave system (note the singular form) found in all Minecraft worlds, and the frequency of gigantic systems.

Greek temples were made of marble. not a radioactive substance. anyway. it would be cool. but if you want massive places like the parthenos. its gonna be really hardcore. support. Sky dimensions would suck. we dont need the aether in mine craft.
No, a sky dimension would most certainly not suck, in fact I believe that it would be a great thing, though I do hope that the blocks are less gimmicky and mod-like than the Aether's (And the Aether suggestion topic's) in the real Skylands, if there is one. No offense to the Aether mod, which is a great mod, its (sometimes amazingly epic) features just don't belong in Vanilla.
