Those are interesting pictures! That last one looks fake though as it copies the emerald texture a bit. Good pics anyways.

I honestly have no idea if they're fake or not... remember that those WERE the original Ruby textures for the Rubies that were going to be used as currency before Emeralds were decided on.

posted a message on Aether/similar mods?
    Two questions:

    1) Is the Aether still being worked on? Because I haven't heard a peep about it since... well, the second (or so) to last page of the Aether Mod topic itself.

    2) Are there any other similar mods (NOT Divine RPG, that doesn't count and it honestly looks like a crappy mod) available that you guys recommend? Because I'm getting a BIT bored of Thaumcraft for the time being...

posted a message on A new way to make glass: lightning.
Hm. IMO this is pretty pointless, and if anything it would be more realistic for the lightning striking sand making 2x2x1 craters in the sand and dropping some of the sand as glass... which is EVEN MORE pointless and can even constitute griefing. So... no support.

Guys, PLEASE don't make this a terrain whining thread, I liked the old terrain too (and they should bring back beaches!!!) but it's not really THAT much of a big deal. ...Anyway, personally I'd like more biomes with more tree types... just not the huge laggy redwoods; jungle trees are bad enough for my computer.

No, he just means reduced fire rate or weaker shots, not magical slow gliding arrows.

    ...right?

The closest thing I did was a stone brick tunnel that has a piston gate, which opens to an extension of the tunnel with Nether zBrick going the rest of the way to the portal. I'm HORRID with Redstone so it took me forever to figure out the pistons.

posted a message on Stairs take too much to craft
    Quote from SouthernPotato

Stairs appear as though they take 3/4th's of a block to make. So why does it take 6 blocks to craft 4 stairs? That's a 3:2 ratio, meaning you've lost 33% of place-able blocks when making stairs. If anything, it should be a 1:1 ratio; When I put 6 blocks in, I get 6 stairs back. If Minecraft was a game that took spacial occupation into account, 6 blocks should yield 8 stairs:
Each of the 6 blocks used in crafting yields 4 quarter blocks (think of quarter blocks as slabs cut in half vertically), so that's 24 quarter blocks. It takes 3 quarter blocks to make stairs. 24 quarter blocks divided by 3 for each stair equals 8, so I get 8 stairs back. But we don't really need that high of a return ratio. All that's really needed is for stairs to take slightly fewer resources. Slabs yield a 1:2 ratio, and it makes perfect sense if you think about it in terms of quarter blocks as I mentioned above. So why do stairs take so much more?
I would like to use stairs all over my buildings for both stylistic and functional reasons, but because I lose blocks when crafting them, it becomes too expensive. I suggest a 1:1 ratio is adopted: 6 blocks in, 6 stairs out.

A similar complaint can be made about wooden fences. It's a 3:2 ratio (it takes 6 wood planks to make 12 sticks which make 4 fences). Not only does this hail in comparison to the 1:1 ratio achieved by stone fences, it's also unrealistic as fences clearly take up less than one full block. I suggest six sticks yield at least 4 fences.

I was actually thinking about this just this morning, but I was too lazy to make a topic about it. :P

It is just your luck. Usually they pop out a ton of sapplings, and silverwood tends to be rare as all ****ing get out.

Haha, ok. Either way... Azanor, this is most likely the best mod out there currently... mostly because of the fact that you actually have to WORK for the stuff you get. I have a FEW whiny little annoying complaints about the creation costs of some things, but it's mostly due to my mining habits (I'm a bit of a minimalist when it comes to doing things underground... unless, of course, I get my hands on a Wand of Excavation... sadly I had to suck nearly all my crystals out for Praecantatio because I was desperate) and not your mod itself. There's nearly nothing at all wrong with this mod.

Chance to deal huge damage on swing- and if it kills the mod it will drop a mob head. Wither Skeleton, Skeleton, Zombie, Creeper.

    Silverwood, you mean.

Nah, not Silverwood... in fact, the one Silverwood I've cut down so far gave me TWO saplings, enough to replant on the spot and make one closer to me. Unless it's just my luck, GREATwood is the problem right now.

Ugh. I know people have most likely said this before, but PLEASE raise the Greatwood sapling drop rate a TINY bit so that you get 1 per tree rather than 0-1... I have destroyed 2 Greatwood trees and hollowed out some of a third (which I used as a home base) and have only received one sapling total.

    Quote from Bloodbreaker

Totally agree. Although you do have something going here. Minecraft does need some more mobs.

As long as they have a niche and the game doesn't start to feel spammy (Mo' Creatures feels spammy because of the spawn rates combined with the amount of creatures... Low, low spawn rates for more of the stuff would help.), the number of mobs that can be added to the game is nearly infinite. That isn't the point.

As of the main topic... Rana, Steve, Beast Boy, and Black Steve were old, and I do not miss them. Giants... I do not see them having a place in the game in their current state, so I don't really miss them either, and besides, they're still spawnable (though only with mods/plugins.). Pigmen were replaced by Villagers. As much as I do not like the Villagers' model (Slightly smaller Humans as in Millenaire would be good IMO.), I have mostly gotten used to them and their tall heads, retarded nutsack noses and derpy lazy box "arms." Fish are certainly necessary, I just hope Dinnerbone (I think that's who would do it) isn't too lazy to add them. And Red Dragons would be great as long as they don't look too silly. Different Dragons for different Biomes would be good though.

posted a message on How did mojang annoy you?
How Mojang angered me? Ok, let's see. Some of it has to do with Jeb not doing what Notch said he would:

-Jeb never added the sky dimension. Sure, we supposedly have enough dimensions, and there are always mods, but besides the Aether I haven't seen any really worthy Skylands mods, and the game could have 20 different dimensions for all I care as long as they are all decently unique.

-Jeb never added non-ender Dragons. That annoyed me off a lot... I was really looking forward to those.

-No ocean content besides stupid, glitchy squid. Seriously?

    -Beaches being screwed up.

And lastly, capacitors and resistors and stuff don't really make me mad, but they DO sorta make me feel that Minecraft is becoming increasingly geared towards die-hard nerds making huge redstone machinery. If they are going to do that... at least make some sort of circuit board block that lets you put multiple simple devices (or at least whole logic gates), into one block, with outputs on different sides. Insulated redstone wires that you can turn that don't interconnect would be nice too. However, if Mojang took Minecraft back in the RPG or at least fantasy direction while still keeping the element of sandbox-ness, that would be MUCH better.

Adventure Update. 'Nuff said. Biome fixes, underwater fixes, feature rarity and village placement requirement adjustments, and a new type of dungeon. Perhaps a Floating Islands-ish biome is in order as well.
