posted a message on Notch feeling bad for selling Minecraft...?

I had a ton of respect for notch until he looked over at the people he said "Screw you" to that Mojang employee. [Referring to what he said to an employee...] Nobody's going to hold your hand bro and tell you it's okay. In people's eyes, you "Let them down". It's like a capture the flag game... When you're running with the flag, and right before you score... You throw the flag down, and head home. That's how a "Team" feels when their leader leaves... And Notch expected someone to hold his hand and go "It's okay bro... You did the right thing"... If someone were to do that to me, I'd be like "Take your wealth and your stinginess. I'll stick with team Mojang! With the friends and the good/bad times and... The simple life!" All Notch had to do, was turn down and say no to the Paparazzi...

When you sell a company, and make a crap-ton of money... THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS! When you outbid on a mansion that top celebrities are trying to buy... THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS! Tada, you've stepped up into the billionaire level... That's the attention you bring in to yourself. Notch acts like this wasn't going to happen... "Smucks" Like us, and people like Notch can't co-exist together... It just makes things awkward. Not to mention how many fakes are out there and want to be friends just for the money. But smucks like me won't ever get the opportunity to meet a legend like Notch... so let us continue! If I was all "Buddy Buddy" with Notch, sure... I don't care how much you make, or made. I do feel bad for Notch... He's in his mid 30's, and feels like he doesn't have a leg to stand on. That's really young to be feeling like that. I know he's Atheist and all but... Godspeed bro. Hopefully you find peace sooner or later!

This instant gratification generation makes me face palm 50 times over.

There could have been a super updatw fixing every bug in the game and someone would whine. Sure... me, personally, I wish there was more to the update... but you know what? That's what mods are for.

Btw, if you don't like armor stands... don't use them!!!!!

They expect a break-even on 2.5 billion by FY 2015? That's ambitious, I mean I know minecraft is worth loads of money...mojang made like 200 million off it this year just from sales and doing nothing new, but that's fast for a break-even. If that's true microsoft may have gotten this company for a bargain price...Notch would have made way more than 2.5 billion in the long run, so I guess what he said about wanting to be out of the spotlight might be true. With all that money rolling in naturally he must have known he'd make more than 2.5b staying CEO.

    One abbreviation... $5 per DLC.

and for thouse who don't want ot click the link... THIS ISN'T ME SPEAKING BTW! I'm not smrt.

Today is an incredibly exciting day for our team as Mojang and the Minecraft franchise join Microsoft. Minecraft is one of the most popular video games of all time, with more than 100 million downloads, on PC alone, from players since its launch in 2009. Minecraft inspires millions to create together, connects people across the globe, and is a community that is among the most active and passionate in the world.

Our relationship with Mojang began when we initially talked to the team about bringing Minecraft to the console. Minecraft quickly became the top online game on Xbox Live, with over two billion hours played on Xbox 360 in the last two years. That working relationship set the ground work for other opportunities. We’ve long seen the incredible potential of Minecraft.

At Microsoft, we believe in the power of content to unite people. Minecraft adds diversity to our game portfolio and helps us reach new gamers across multiple platforms. Gaming is the top activity across devices and we see great potential to continue to grow the Minecraft community and nurture the franchise. That is why we plan to continue to make Minecraft available across platforms – including iOS, Android and PlayStation, in addition to Xbox and PC.

The Minecraft community is passionate and diverse, ranging across all ages and demographics. We respect the brand and independent spirit that has made Minecraft great, and we’ll carry on the tradition of innovation to move the franchise forward. Our investments in cloud, Xbox Live and mobile technology will enable players to benefit from richer and faster worlds, more powerful development tools, and more opportunities to connect with the Minecraft community.

We’re excited to confirm that MINECON will continue next year. We’ll look to create even more ways for the vibrant community of YouTuber’s, innovators, bloggers and players to connect with each other – both in person and online. We will have much more to share in the coming months.

The Minecraft team’s unique vision, creative energy and innovative mindset make them a perfect fit alongside our other global studios. Microsoft Studios includes 343 Industries, Turn 10 Studios, and Lionhead Studios just to name a few. These industry-leading game studios within Microsoft that have had great success with beloved games and massively popular franchises like Halo, Forza, and Fable. We’re excited to welcome Mojang to the Microsoft family and we are thrilled to support the success and longevity of Minecraft for years to come.

Exactly what I don't want to happen. Would you really pay for some skins and stupid stuff like that? We might even have to pay for making texture packs. Youtubers that live with making Minecraft videos will probably stop! The community would tear apart!
What if they make a new update every month, with 2 or 3 new features and you'd have to pay it 5 bucks, when mojang's always released well made updates for FREE. I see this as a possible ruin of Minecraft, my favorite game of all time... I will probably just stick to 1.8... if they don't make us pay for getting a new account or something!

What's funny is that on the Playstation version... If I remember correctly, the skin packs DO cost money...

Fear is the best word to describe it. I'll admit it... I'm a LOT scared. Although, what's cool to think about is maybe the updates will be a bit more regular. Maybe THE MODDING API WILL GET POLISHED...

But there's a lot of WHAT IF's... I'm personally scared Microsoft will turn the Minecraft we all know and love into something... horrible. Like the XBOX 1...
