posted a message on Can't connect to server after a power outage
Your IP address may have changed. Check your DynDNS settings. Also, I've learned about power outages and Minecraft servers the hard way... they don't mix. If your DynDNS settings are correct, try renaming your world to something else and generate a new one.

Never seen this one before... Looks to me like some sort of network error. Not like any normal network error, though. Strange. I'm not sure what your server was doing trying to connect to itself. Could you post your server.properties?

posted a message on java.io.IOException: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
That basically means that the other client got disconnected while sending/receiving a packet.. If you're talking about this message coming up on the server, then the other person disconnected while the server was sending them a packet.

If this is with a hosting company, check in with them. This looks like an issue with your server's control panel configuration and is probably unfixable without their help.

I would also check around your spawn point to make sure they're not spawning into anything that could kill them. You can pretend to be a new player by deleting your <player name>.dat file in the /world/players/ folder.

posted a message on Mods on my server?
Bukkit plugins and client mods are two entirely different things. Bukkit plugins by themselves can't add things to the client like mobs, blocks, or game mechanics, so unfortunately your friends will need to install Pixelmon if they want to play on your server.

posted a message on [1.6.2] CraftProxy: A Minecraft Reverse Proxy
    Introducing
    CraftProxy
    by tman0
    ...
    What is CraftProxy?
CraftProxy is a reverse proxy, much like BungeeCord. It accepts connections from Minecraft clients and redirects them to the proper servers based on a number of different rules, so you can give your players a nice, pretty url like play.mydomain.com instead of s1.myserverhost.com:9092. At present, CraftProxy redirects Minecraft connections based on the domain you connect to, however in the future it will be possible to redirect based on other conditions, listen on different ports, and other features. So, you can have something like this:
    ...
    [Client] >>----play.mydomain.com----> [CraftProxy] >>----s1.myserverhost.com:9092----> [Server]
    ...
CraftProxy can do this because of the way the Minecraft protocol is structured. The first packet sent to the server contains all the information CraftProxy needs to know: the hostname that was entered (play.mydomain.com) and the port that was entered (25565). With this information CraftProxy selects from a configured list of servers to send the connection to.
    ...
    What isn't CraftProxy?
A way to play Minecraft behind a firewall. You still need access to Minecraft.net to log in to most servers.
A domain name creator. You'll need to have your own domain name to use this. (Though, you can also redirect based on IPs, too! Just change the first URL to an IP address, and people who connect to that will be sent to one server. But, this kind of defeats the purpose of CraftProxy.)
A DNS server. You'll need to set that up by yourself. A wildcard CNAME record is all you need.
    *.example.com CNAME example.com
    ...
    Where can I get CraftProxy?
CraftProxy is not officially released yet. However, you can get an early pre-alpha here. Please be aware that this is an extremely early pre-alpha. It has not been thoroughly tested. There will be bugs. If you do come across bugs please post them here so I can fix them.
    Requires the .NET Framework 4.5
    Download (Windows/Mac/Linux Mono) (Coming Soon)
Disclaimer: This source code is quite literally the ugliest thing you'll ever read in your life. I will be cleaning this up, however for now it's the ugliest thing you'll see in your life. That link is not for the faint of heart.
Also, if I am in violation of one of the libraries' licenses, please get in touch with me and I'd be happy to help resolve the issue.

posted a message on [LAN] [1.6.2] Server Problem
    Quote from Shadowstorm_II

Help! Server Not Broadcasting over LAN Network!

My brother and I have constantly been playing alongside each other over LAN. We both wanted to have shops in our LAN world, but the only choices were to:

    A) Use command blocks and spend hours configuring a proper shop
    B) Create a Bukkit server and use and economy plugin such as Essentials

Naturally, we decided to go with the Bukkit server idea.
So, I downloaded CraftBukkit (RB, of course, which at this time is 1.5.2), configured the Command Prompt, and ran the server perfectly. Everything worked!
Next, I edited the server.properties file, changing the MOTD of the server. I then opened up Chrome and searched for the Essentials plugin. Downloading it, I opened up the .zip file with WinRar, extracted all the .jar files, and moved them to C:\Users\username\Desktop\SurvivalRealm\plugins.
NOTE: "SurvivalRealm" is my server name.
I ran the server again, and the console showed that everything was in order and was working fine. I joined using localhost, while my brother used my IP. It didn't let him him join.
I then gave him our IPx4 number. It still didn't let him join!

Can anyone help me with this problem?

I don't think Bukkit broadcasts over LAN. This plugin should do the job though. Also, Bukkit doesn't promote RBs ever. Ever. Stick with beta builds; they might as well rename beta builds to RBs and RBs to like golden builds or something. Make sure you're giving him the right IP address. If you're giving him the external IP he may not be able to join. The internal should start with 127.0.*.*, 192.168.*.*, or 10.10.*.*

    Quote from SOBxlxKILLER

I just bought a minecraft server to make a pixelmon server, and I can't seem to figure out how to do it. Any help please?

If you want any help, you'll have to give a lot more information than that, specifically which server host you purchased with, and which control panel and/or control panel version they're using.

Could you put the server.log on pastebin and give me a link? Also, if you have access to it, could you upload your world file to dropbox or mediafire or something? I could take a look at it and see if there are any corrupted chunks.

    Quote from AnUnknownMiner

As the title says, I have suddenly gotten over (or close to) 20 JAVA exceptions.

Here is the first part of the log. I'm also getting a PermissionsEx error, could that be the problem?

I'll answer more questions when I get them.

    --AnUnknownMiner

My best guess is a problem with your permissions.yml. Could you pastebin that and the startup section of your server.log?

posted a message on can't login to my server might be because of optifine?
Optifine is your issue. It's probably a mod conflict between it and another mod. Do you absolutely have to have optifine?
