    The shapes after the binding shape determine the spell it'll cast, if you have binding-self-regen on a sword it'll cast regen on you evey time you hit something. if you have binding-wave-dig on a pick it'll release a dig wave every time you dig a block.

    My personal favorite is binding-chain-aoe on a sword. It just destroys groups of mobs, and with mana drain can more than make up for it's casting cost.

    Something kind of like that, though probably not in the way you mean, is when you use a zone and a projectile/wave/beam right after it it'll auto-cast the spell in the direction you're looking. Maybe not exactly what you're looking for, but a circle of sorts all the same.

    Have you given any thought to an item that, when supplied with EMC, can place blocks in the world using that EMC? I was reading The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson, and the soulcasting gave me the idea.

    You could also have, if possible, everything else get a shade lighter/darker so it looks as if you're actually looking for creatures' auras, not just seeing them along with your everyday blocks.

    Maybe the affinity can shift a few spaces for free, then the spell starts costing more mana to use.

    Sorry if this was already awnsered - I've been having massive computer problems - but, if there are no casting modes in 1.2, then will dig be able to mine obsidian? Will all components just be basically in augmented, all the time?

    For a good anti-player spell, there's: Projectile, disarm, random teleport, knockback. in a duel, it'll give you the opponent's spellbook, send them away so they can't pick it back up.

    I was nearing spawn on a boat, and randomly crashed. From the report, I think someone's using a dynamism tablet, and that's causing the crash.

    Just so people know for future use, the one that is being used is the "Greif Prevention Plugin" otherwise known by its use of the Golden Shovel.

    Lil tutorial video so people kind of know what to expect from it.

    The server configuration seems to be working well on small scale tests, and griefing is well protected against.

    The next step is to move the configuration off of my little test box at home onto the actual server that will be hosting this, and begin setting up the PvP and protected zones, set up ops, set up the basic wiki, and do any last minute changes that come up.

    Currently a few things have been disabled from mods, as they allow bypassing of anti-grief. They are:

    Ars Magica 2 - Sigil of the Flat Lands
    Ars Magica 2 - Sigil of the Packed Earth
    Ars Magica 2 - Dig component
    Thaumcraft 4 - Wand Focus: Excavation
    Thaumcraft 4 - Arcane Bore
    Blood Magic - Lava Sigil
    Natura - Flint and Blaze

    This list may change if other items are found to bypass anti-grief measures. These items will be re-enabled if/when the mod authors make it compatible with anti-grief systems. This list is also not open to debate.

    Based on the server hardware and bandwidth, we're looking at about 30 players maximum at any given time.

    So I'll have to craft a pickaxe... No big deal... Does anyone remember how to craft a pick?
