Sorry for just abandoning this mod ages ago. After the 1.7 and 1.8 Minecraft Forge updates, there were some major changes that made this mod beyond repair. I also stopped playing Minecraft for a while.
But... Thanks to some of my friends who happened to be playing Minecraft the other day, I decided to revisit this mod and see if I can "resurrect" it.
So... over the past two weeks, because I am slightly insane, I basically re-coded the mod from the ground up to work with MC Forge 1.10.2 (there were over 1700 compiler errors to start out with). I haven't even added textures and item names yet, and even worse, I don't have the latest version of my source code to work with, so some content from the nightmare is missing at the moment.
Getting this mod back to where it was will take a very long time, but I just wanted to give anyone that still follows this forum a heads-up.
I just need to stay motivated - we will see how far I get.
Good news everyone. Even though I haven't been updating this mod in quite a while does not mean I will discontinue future updates. A new recommended forge version FIANALLY came out, so now I can update the mod to 1.7.2. If all goes well, I should have the new version out by the end of this week.
Keep in mind that there wont be any new mod content, only 1.7.2 compatibility.
there are nightmare hills and dreamlike biomes in overworld is this supposed to be like that?
Nope. This what I believe to be a result of other biome mods, causing biomes to replace each other. I think this problem can be solved by deleting the .cfg files for Good Night's Sleep and changing the mod install order so that GNS is installed last (or close as possible to last).
My apologies if this has been asked already, but in scouring the thread, I have yet to find the answer. How exactly DO you get the materials to craft the right beds? I get that I need the hope and despair mushrooms, but how on earth do I find those? I've explored as far as 1,000k+ beyond the spawn point and not found anything. Any kind of help would be very much appreciated, please!
The mushrooms generate in new worlds deep underground. I also remember making it so that you can also surround regular mushrooms with either coal blocks or gold blocks to craft the new mushrooms.
Wondering what is going on with this mod? Any new things in the works?
SorryI haven't been very active on the forums lately. I've been busy with other work, but am still gradually working on this project. In fact, I even have a new texturer, who, by the way, is quite good!
I just now saw that 1.7.2 came out, so I will work on updating the mod to the latest version. I should also have a complete set of armor textures by the next mod release.
Thanks TippyFoo, by the way this is one of the most exciting mods I've ever seen! I haven't tested if this was already added in the mod, but it would be cool to see an option in the mod that makes it so sleeping in a normal vanilla bed goes to a random dimension- which could be either the good dream or the nightmare. That would be a really nice addition to the mod!
Or you could get an ID resolver, it helps alot while installing mods!
Glad you like it! I haven't been focusing on this mod recently, but in the next update, I should have multiplayer support added.
The bed idea you mentioned would be awesome, but may cause a few compatibility and update issues. I will definitely keep it in mind. Perhaps I can add it as an addon for the mod.
is this a bug? i re-downloaded the mod (a different bug caused it to break), but no items showed up this time, and whenever i go to the decorations menu and scroll down to where the mods decorations should be, the game crashes, and no crash log appears, launcher or file
EDIT: ID conflicts with slabcraft and staircraft mods (no wonder they didn't appear! (recipes resulted in the slab/staircraft blocks O.O NEI showed me ))... so hard to choose between this and the other two >.< but still no crash log...
I added a feature where you should be able to edit the base block/item id's in a cfg file in .minecraft/config.
I tried to remove herobrine, but the nightmare code wouldn't allow me to. Sorry about that.
Positite is found just like diamond. Negatite is like diamond but can go up to level 30. It is a bit less common, though.
First, you need to craft a strange bed using one hope and one despair shroom. It was a recent change, so most of the youtube reviews don't have the feature. I'll try to put some new ones up, though.
Just to be 100% sure, to install this I open my jar file, in winrar of course, in the forge version directory and just unzip the mod zip file into it?
I'm taking that just placing the mod in the mods folder doesn't work?
Just placing the .zip into your mods folder should actually work. I literally just found out you could do that XD, so I'm going to update the installation instructions. But, yes, the way you described is also a valid method of installation. Just make sure you only do one or the other, not both.
Fixed some bugs, including item/block id incompatibility issues.
You can now alter item/block id's in .cfg files.
View change log or ask me if you have questions.
Hooray! A new update has arrived (B2.1)!
Bed recipes have changed and an extra bed has been added.
Dream timers and stews have also been added.
There are new materials and mobs for the nightmare as well.
Be sure to look at the change log on curseforge!
I think the armor's special ability shouldn't consume redstone at all. It would be nicer having some less OP ability, and not having to turn it on and off with a key (which would be completely useless) than having all these potion effects all the time. Especially if you use other mods with keys as well, for example FTB.
I am also a bit hesitant to use keys as well, for compatibility issues. Right now the armor does have an ability - better defense. I could substitute this for less powerful, but passive versions of the abilities above if I can figure out how to do so.

Hey everyone.
Happy Halloween!
I am not dead, I swear.

Yes sir.
Going to start fixing server bugs and adding to the nightmare. How about hands reaching up from the ground?

Thanks!
Awesome mod review, JackMasseyWelsh!

There is a 1.6.4 version. I just realized I haven't changed this topic's title. The curseforge page is always more up-to-date.

Yes, you may, as long as you give me the name of the mod pack and a link to it. Thanks for asking.
I added a feature where you should be able to edit the base block/item id's in a cfg file in .minecraft/config.

Sure, I won't make them too durable though. After all, they are just refracted electromagnetic waves.

That's good!
I don't think this is too much of an issue with sponges. A few extra sponges in your dreams won't hurt.
