I'm currently creating a world showcasing all the blocks that I will use to take preview pictures for my upcoming texture pack.

For those who want the new items right now, right click (or ctrl click) the app, select "Show Package Contents", go to resources and copy the "Items.csv" file for backup. Now edit the original "Items.csv" file by adding the name and the data value like "DATAVALUE, NAME" and save. The new item should be available for you when searching.
The ID values can be found at Minecraftwiki
(If you can't edit the file, change the extension to .txt while editing and set it back to .csv after saving)
Here's the values I used:
23,Dispenser
25,Note Block
92,Cake (block)
351,Dye
352,Bone
354,Cake (item)
That's the only way right now, and to get the new logs and leaves simply use the correct 'damage' number when selecting logs or leaves. E.g Logs with a damage of 1 is the pine log and with a damage of 2 is the birch log.

The page width doesn't resize and your images are cut off because they are large.
Now in my opinion, I don't really like it. Some textures are pixelated (in a bad way) and don't tile well. The grass, sand and the ores... It looks fine when your glancing at them from afar, but when you look at them closely (as in-game you would) it should be more distinctive.
It's not particular not my taste, perhaps some more detail and variations will good tiling instead of flat colours and the black pixel splotches. Also with some custom foliage/grass colouring with those fluorescent themed colours it would be cool.
It will definitely help once lanterns are implemented and that's probably why Notch added Charcoal.
Also for newbies, because if for someone who has little knowledge of minecraft it'll be a rough night if they didn't find coal, but now with charcoal they don't have to be caught out in the dark.
I know this is a request but why not give it a go yourself? You can use Paint.net or GIMP which are free and messing with the terrain.png with all your ideas your already have brewed up can be fun. Although it can be tough and frustrating, but rewarding once you learn what works and what doesn't.
It's so annoying because Minecraft doesn't use all the folders in a texture pack, I have other texture packs with custom grass foliage and I have to keep switching up bin folders containing different 'default' texture packs because I had to mess with the .jar
That definitely needs to be fixed. I had make a 'Default Texture Pack' since the original default is now yours.
Right now I'm gonna build a pit and accompanied building with murder holes for me to stab at their feet. They better only spawn on Netherrack or they'll be in my building.
This certainly needs more attention, I love this pack.
Certainly has made my world look cool. Have you considered designing new items? Also another suggestion, could you make the pumpkin a little more... Blocky? It'll match with the other blocky textures. It looks out of place when next to cobble or Netherrack.
I'll check my minecraft.jar and see if the custom tree/grass foliage.pngs actually worked.
But I mean 'double curves' like this.
I just a quick copy paste, I did in Photoshop but you get the point, there was no clear distinction between normal dirt and tilled soil. You can clean it up a bit if you decide to use it (there's this miss-colored pixel on the bottom 'curve' in the middle).
I'm currently installing the REZCraft texture pack and I've got it working, problem is it's that or nothing, I cannot select any other texture packs and once I load up a world minecraft crashes.
The patcher replaces the default Minecraft textures and this is the only supported use case at this time.
What does that mean? Is that what is happening to me? And yes I've deleted the options.txt before patching and starting out with the default textures before patching.
Is this supposed to happen? Am I supposed to switch bin folders containing the patched REZCraft texture and the default textures with working additional textures in the textures menu whenever I want to switch?
Love it! Definitely staying in my game for a while.
Cobblestone look great and it's so vivid and bright. Looks awesome.
Suggestions... uh. Maybe do a more clearer tilled soil texture... Maybe like double curves and more of a deeper brown once it's 'hydrated'. Also the grass and foliage colors worked fine when I put it in the texture pack folder.
I'll maybe suggest more and upload some pics once I play around with it more.

I would really like an update for the new items.

So are you working on the new blocks? Funny that, yesterday I was going to release my texture pack, but now I've got more work to do argh!

So what will be next? Items?

Not much I can say, it's still faithful to the default look which some people will enjoy greatly.

A custom grass color and tree foliage would really make this work. I like the planks and logs, the cactus looks too cartoony.
But I think this texture is shaping up.
