    Quote from S.Wolf

Wait, really? I don't mean to be "that guy", but come on. Still not updated? I've been putting of playing (completely) every since the update, waiting for support for Xie's mods.

I can understand it taking a week or so for an update to come out; people are busy, I get that-- but it's been two weeks, and now this is borderline pure laziness.

Uh, sorry to be "that other guy that hates on the first guy for being the first guy", but take a look at jordanmf33's post, about Xie getting a concussion? Yeah, looks like there's a legit reason for this not being updated.

posted a message on SERVER/MINECRAFT WONT START?!
I've been having the same problem after I tried to use a shortcut to boost the memory usage of Minecraft by changing the Xms value. I linked everything and made sure I had the 64-bit version of Java installed, since I'm running on a 64-bit OS, and I have the same exact problem. The .bat file gives me the error, and the .exe doesn't do anything at all!

Is the server even up? I keep trying to connect after rolling back from the 1.5_01 update, but it keeps timing out after about a minute.

How's progress coming with the server?

    1.5's a ***** huh?

Apparently, it is. But there's cool stuff added in, so it might be worth it. Especially with those powered and detector rails... One thing that sucks is that the ladder bug is gone... Can't gap between ladders anymore, but at least each set of materials for a ladder makes two now instead of just one.

    Male
    Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:
I'm not exactly a hardcore writer or anything, but I do have my ideas and try to put them out on paper or onto the screen whenever possible, usually only when I can remember the gist of the idea a couple of hours after having it. I try my best to play well with others, but it's not my fault when the other side can't say the same-- after all, you can't fix stupid. I won't be found trolling or griefing other players, neither accidentally nor intentionally, and I try to keep a decent use of grammar whenever I speak and perform actions in roleplay.
Why you would be a good addition to the server:
I enjoy playing in groups while contributing in terms of ideas and building, and I'm willing to watch someone's back, as long as my own is covered in the process.
    Describe yourself in one word:
    Thinker.
How much time could you be on the server weekly?:
I'd say about 8 hours at the least.
What do you know about roleplaying?:
Godmodding and powerplaying are sins, respect for fellow roleplayers is a must, and creativity is required from the start. Keep in your character, and the experience is amazing. After all, isn't that what roleplaying is really about, being someone other than yourself?
What do you expect this server will be like?:
True to its name, centered on a ruined earth where the people struggle to survive day and night, and attempt to rebuild from a past scarred by war.
What is your past roleplaying experience?:
I've done text-based roleplaying for years, since junior high, and have been getting myself involved in the Minecraft variety. With the text-based roleplaying, it was always either on small forums, instant messengers, or IRC, with various storylines, plots, and character designs coming out of my head.
What other server have you played on and why did you leave them?
Used to play on After Earth Server, but I left due to the increasing levels of unnecessary drama between faction leaders causing problems for the little guys.
How long have you played minecraft?:
A handful of months, since Alpha 12.2.
Have you ever been banned before? if you have write the reason why to ( Be Honest ):
    Not once.
Have you read the rules? Do you understand them and do you agreed with them?:
    Yes, and yes.
What is a slime called on the server?
    [Unknown]
Have you ever had a sexual intercourse with your pet? ( Be Honest )
    Nope, honest.
Why you want to be accepted (A short answer, nothing big):
I've always found that roleplaying in larger groups is a lot more fun than sticking with four- or five-person groups. That, and I love plots that revolve around a wasteland Earth in the future.

    In-Character:
    Character Name:
    D'Mitri Karn
    Background / Who are you?:
D'Mitri Karn was born in 2189 to Kyle and Alyena Karn, descendants of those that had survived the atmospheric bomb released by the robots in their last-ditch effort to regain control. D'Mitri remained an only child for seven years, helping his parents locate a decent area to dig into and settle down in. Two months after his birthday, in the year 2196, D'Mitri became an older brother when Aiden Karn was born. At this point, movement across the landscape was difficult, so they were forced to begin building their home in the side of a cliff that watched over a vast expanse of water, believed to be an ocean or sea. Over a period of twelve years, the Karns built a three-level shelter in the cliff face, the lower-most level being where they slept, the middle level being a cross between storage and a living room, and the top level being the only way in or out, the walls and ceiling being six layers thick to prevent a few explosions from tearing through. A few short weeks later, Kyle Karn fell ill from some xig meat that had been tainted somehow. Being unable to gather resources or construct tools for farming, he taught D'Mitri how to build pickaxes, hatchets, hoes and shovels, as well as how to tell what is in the ground around him so he would know what to strike for and where. D'Mitri built on these skills for years, but it almost was not enough for what fate had in store for him. Two years later, Kyle's condition had improved, but he was never really better or cured of his illness, which struck the family as odd. It was as if an infection had spread through his body and kept him from getting past a certain level of physical wellness. It also sealed the fate of the family.
After nightfall during the summer of 2209, Kyle went into an extreme state of mental instability, taking one of the stone swords from the storage chests and forcing his way to the surface. There, he began to swing the weapon in a mad frenzy and yell at the top of his lungs. D'Mitri and Aiden tried their best to bring their father under control or restrain him, but to no avail. To make matters worse, Kyle's fit had caught the attention of a party of raiders that were moving at the middle of the hill that the cliff was in. The raiders moved up the hill to where Aiden and D'Mitri were still attempting to take their father down. The brothers had just disarmed him when they heard the snap of a bowstring, then the whistle of an arrow sailing through the air. D'Mitri had just enough reaction to knock Aiden to the ground, their father having an arrow protruding through his back and stuck with the arrowhead poking out of his chest. As Kyle fell to the ground dead, more snaps and whistles sounded, the raiders firing at will towards the two brothers. D'Mitri scrambled to his feet, evading an arrow that would have struck his leg and pinned him to the dirt. Aiden was not so lucky, taking two arrows to the lower-back and one to the neck. He crumpled to the ground, death on impact. D'Mitri pulled up the arrow sticking out of the ground and threw it in the direction of the raiders, who scattered to avoid being hit. This gave him the chance to flee down the opposite side of the hill, hidden by the shadows of a cluster of trees located close to the base of the natural ground formation. He could only watch as the raiders checked on the corpses of his father and brother to ensure they were dead. His heart sank when they slipped through the opening into what used to be his home, going cold when he heard a scream that was silenced a moment later. D'Mitri knew that his mother couldn't have survived the raiders, so he ran from the hill, from his dead family, and from those that had murdered all that he had left in this dying world. But he wasn't going to just die. He had to move on. He had to survive. So he would, and so he did up to 2212, present day.
    Character Family:
    Aiden Karn: (Deceased) 16/M
    Alyena Karn: (Deceased) 39/F
    Kyle Karn: (Deceased) 41/M
    Character Age:?
    23
    Character Appearance:?
Set in post-apocalyptic armor salvaged from old battlegrounds, keeps his brown hair cut short as to prevent snagging on dead vegetation and tries to keep clean-shaved when possible, if only for appearances upon finding other survivors.
    Character Personality:?
Fairly a go-with-the-flow person, but if something of his is disrupted, particularly any form of construction, he gets agitated and very stubborn. He hates going out at night, a mental state from when he was just a child in the barren world.
    Occupation:
All-Around Handyman, able to farm on a small-scale, build basic (6x5x3) and two-level (7x5x3 per level) buildings, recognize and mine power cells, gears, and gold, and also fight against individual or small (2-3) groups of mutants, raiders, and securo-drones.
Can your character read or write?
He can do both, but only in English. He was taught the basics by his mother Alyena before she and his father Kyle were killed. Over the years, D'Mitri came across and studied various books about the English language that managed to survive the events of the world.
    Can your character mine?
When D'Mitri's father started becoming ill from some bad Xig meat, he had to take up the responsibility of gathering resources for building tools and constructing additional shelter and thicker walls to protect from raider attacks, although fortifying their shelter was not a task he could perform at the time.
    Can your character build?
After losing his parents and younger brother to the raider attack, D'Mitri fled to a location deep in the forests, or what passed for forests in this day and age. There, he built a basic home for himself out of compacted dirt and wood cut down from the surrounding trees. After several weeks of hiding and being unable to survey the landscape around him, he set to work adding a second level, discovering the construction of stairs from wooden planks in the process. With this now elevated position, D'Mitri was able to watch the forest much easier.
    Can your character fight?
Having a younger brother prepares one for fighting, but only to a certain point. Using only wooden swords and their fists, D'Mitri and Aiden often sparred with each other when there was no work to be done and the area seemed safe enough to make some noise. D'Mitri never received any fighting training from his father.
    Can you make tools?:
With his father being ill for a short period of time, D'Mitri had to also learn to create new tools based on Kyle's instruction, which allowed him to make wooden and stone tools. After some playing around with the workbench, even the knowledge of crafting swords became known to him.
    Can you farm?:
Since the age of 12, D'Mitri's father had showed him the bare basics of farming wheat with a three-row system, where the middle row is dug out and filled with water and the two beside the water were plowed and planted with seeds. Two years later, D'Mitri came across another kind of crop that did not require seeds or plowing, which he found out to be sugar cane. He did not do much with it, because the only thing that could be made with it was just plain sugar, and completely thought against growing more for use.
    Any special skills?
None that he is aware of.
Does your character have any health/physical or mental problems/issues?:
Has some moments where he spaces out, often times thinking hard about something to the point he's detached from events around him. Also, when he sleeps, he sometimes jumps up and yells out something at random, then falls back asleep as if nothing happened. He has no memory of the second condition whatsoever.
    Character Fears:
Heights, raiders, and deep water where he can't see the bottom.
Describe an event where your character is in deep pain:
A year after the tragic deaths of his parents and younger brother, D'Mitri Karn had found himself in a situation once again. Only this time, he had decided to get into the problem himself. While moving through the land, heading north from the cliffs, D'Mitri had come across the same raider party that had attacked his home and murdered his family. A cold sense of realization came over him, followed by an ache that cried for revenge on the killers for his family and for himself. Seeing the falling figure of his father playing back in his mind, then his brother being riddled with arrows, and finally hearing the last scream of his mother in his head had caused his blood to boil and vision to blur from a mix of tears and pure rage flowing like fire through his veins. In his hand was the stone sword from that dreadful night, the one that Kyle had been swinging wildly at his sons just before his death. D'Mitri felt as if the weapon itself was crying out for the blood of those raiders, that blood-cry even coming from himself. He had followed the raiders for three days, doing his best to keep to the cover of trees and dirt mounds to keep his presence unknown. The night of the third day, the raiders made camp and began to lay out what they had acquired during their last attack. Among the looted goods, D'Mitri spotted some of the things that had been in his old home, including the workbench and stove that he remembered to have been in the living room. Along with this equipment were a few gear tools, some gold bars, and a handful of seeds. He crouched behind one of the trees near the campsite, watching the raiders carefully. As the raiders began to turn in for the night and the fire had died down, D'Mitri moved into the campsite and to the closest raider. Without a sound, he dropped to a knee, covered the raider's mouth, and sent his blade through its chest, twisting sharply before pulling the weapon out. In his mind, he thought “That's for Dad...” He moved to the second and quickly sliced through its neck, beheading it. “That's for Aiden...” The third had yet to actually fall asleep, but was alerted to D'Mitri's presence too little, too late. He stood over the lead raider with hatred in his eyes, face scrunched up in a snarl before he drove his sword into the raider's chest, piercing through the heart before driving it up and through its neck, the blade cutting clean through the other side. Once he was certain that the murderers of his family were now rid from this world, he gathered the loot that was still piled up by the campfire and left without taking another look back. He had gotten his revenge, but it did not taste as sweet at he thought it would. If anything, it left his mouth with a bitter taste that he wanted to spit out and be done with.

    Other Information:
Negative, I... Wait... I'm getting something... "I will use ((*)) or brackets to speak in OOC in the local chat if needed or I will get banned and i love cheeseburgers with all my heart." ...What did that mean?

    Minecraft Account Name:
    deadwolfdusk
    How old are you?
    18
    Gender?:
    Male
    Time-Zone/Country of Residence:
    GMT -6:00/United States

D1SEL, have you taken a look at mine?

I will now, give me a moment.

EDIT: Done, it looks ok BUT if you really want to raise your chances, I sugest really bulking up on your character's background. Another thing you should do is where you wrote if you can do certain skills, also put how you learned those skills. EXAMPLE: Can you mine?: No, as a scavenger and constant traveler my character was never able to master the skill of mining. You should make these fit in with your background stories, best of luck.

Thanks for the pointers. I'll probably copy my application into a word processor and tweak it over time before editing my original application with an added segment saying *EDITED* or something like that.

How long have you played minecraft?: since indev

Have you read the rules, and agree that if you break them you CAN be banned or have your whitelist revoked?: yes

Why should i let you on?: 1 i was your ally back on the original ruined world
2 i love post apocalyptic simulations
and 3 i want to start a new beginning alongside fellow survivers and compagnions

Give me a good roleplay example!: this was meant to be funny and is impossible for it to happen ingame:

Lotus: "Sir we happen to be surrounded by Raiders!"
me/ Those insane souls will surely tear us to pieces Lotus... unless- Whoa whoa WHOA! Your name is a flower!
    me/ *starts laughing uncontrollably
Lotus: "And? Your name is a... um... uh-"
*I turn around to see my old compagnion's head being swallowed whole by a raider. I was surrounded.
me/ Well this sucks. Not the me being surrounded part but the me having a soldier named Lotus part.
A Raider slowly approaches me. He puts his "hand" on my shoulder and says in a raspy voice:
    "...Lotus...heh heh heh... flower..."
The rest of his team bursts into gutteral laughter, as do I...
The next morning, i think, I wake up to one of my soldiers giving me medicine.
    me/ what happened?
"You passed out drunk as hell from the afterwar celebration. Those damn robots never saw it coming!
me/ ah that explains the laughing Raiders and that soldier named... Lotus.
    "Um sir, that actually happened."
Inside i was thinking what the frick just happened...

Too little information, I suggest looking through the forum for Accepted applications. Look at the detail included and how the authors really mould their character. Your background is AT LEAST a paragraph too short. I have no influence or decision as to who is accepted or who is not, but I strongly belive this application is an absolute deny. :SSSS:

Oh, one more important thing, you are missing about 7 or more of the damn questions. If you need help, you can try messaging Ktrey, but first, you have to answer ALL the questions.

You do know that this application is almost an EXACT copy of the first application on the very first page of this thread? Yeah...

    Background/Who are you?:
Born in 2189, D'Mitri Karn grew up trying his best to protect himself and his younger brother Aiden after their parents were killed by a group of raiders that had broken into their makeshift home in a small cave hidden in the cliffs. His skills in combat have always been less than desired, but his lacks in fighting are made up by his craftsmanship and ability to build small settlements when the need for stealth was high, skills acquired from having to build small shelters to hide from robots, mutants and raiders at night and the need to repair and rebuild broken equipment after long periods of use.
    Character Family:
Younger brother, Aiden Karn, age 16, who spends his time trying to recreate a stable ecosystem for survivors that would be safe from the mutants and robots. He currently resides far off to the east in hopes of finding a non-hostile location to work in.

Aiden started laughing from across the room.
Aiden: "That's what happens when you touch something hot."
*Turns around to glare at Aiden.
Aiden laughs harder, bending over and holding his stomach.
Aiden: "D-Don't look at me like that... You... You know it makes it worse!"
*Smirks and sidesteps around, flipping a switch to open the door before punting Aiden outside.
Me: "Hope you can run fast, little brother! I hear some Securo-drones out there!"
*Shuts the door and looks back at the furnace.
Me: "...Now, what am I gonna do with you?"
