Whenever I double-click on the "Minecraft.exe" file, it opens up the launcher and when it gets to the stage where it has to unpack the "launcher.jar" file, it appears to freeze. When I observe the file getting filled in the .minecraft folder, it get's filled only one or a few kilobytes at a time.
I deleted everything but my save and redownloaded the game, but the problem still persists (I assumed it was frozen the first time and only investgated it after the problem persisted after re-downloading, so I can't be certain that it was the same issue the first time, but it's a safe bet).
I would like a mod that would create a different kind of "superflat" world. (It is in the very newest version of Minecraft (12W01A), The "superflat" worlds, if you don't know already, are worlds that spawn a flat layer of bedrock, 3 layers of dirt, and a layer of grass, as the name implies it is COMPLETELY flat.)
I would like somebody to take world generation code, but force it to spawn villages wherever it can, and hopefully due to villages only spawning on flat land, it should spawn a giant world village. I am a programmer, and would love to do this myself, but I don't know the code for any the java methods.
Please reply if you can do it or if it's way too hard... in which case I would like to hear why.
Cows: Renewable source of armor, that due to breeding can be contained/concentrated.
Chickens: Since zombies no longer drop feathers, the only two ways to get arrows are massacring skeletons (with the rare exception you get a skeleton spawner, AND make a farm out of it), or kill chickens. Being able to concentrate the chickens will supply you with food and feathers for arrows.
Sheep: Sort of useless, unless a building project requires a lot of wool.
Pigs: A way to farm for food, if you don't feel like farming wheat, and you haven't found melon seeds.
In my survival world I attempted to find my stronghold with the Eyes of Ender. Unfortunately the Eye never seems to find exactly where it is. I'll get to a point following it, and it will reverse direction, it never goes straight down. Digging in between these points hasn't worked either.
Hello, I am requesting that somebody make a modded terrain generator that aside from oceans, rivers, and mountains, will make a COMPLETELY flat (at level 64) map. I would also like to have the NPC villages spawn when ever they possibly can.
If it works out, the entire map (aside from the mountains, rivers and oceans) should be one large NPC "village".

Can I at least hear why nobody wants to do it?

Although I will agree with you on the lack of transitioning between a swamp and another biome... it could be a bit smoother.

I would do it, if I knew all the methods required to script it.

Anybody up to the task?
