I HIGHLY doubt anyone would buy you a host, why would they pay the monthly bills to play on your server? If they were going to pay for the server, i'm sure they would buy it for themselves.
I am a server owner... and my members have recently begun complaining of the same problem. For my server it all seemed to start following the most recent faction update (a few days ago). I've tried deinstalling the plugin and mcore... then reinstalling, and it has not corrected the issue. I came here looking for advice. My next step is to completely wipe my server of the plugin and ALL related files. Before reinstalling. I'm reluctant to do this because it will leave all of my members vulnerable... until they're able to reestablish and reclaim their territories. At any rate... I'll let you know how it turns out.
I upgraded to the newest factions and it had a lot of problems, so I just removed it and installed the version right before the newest one. I am starting to really dislike factions and will probably get a different plugin that is similar.
It is one of the cheapest games I have ever boughten, and it is the best one. It never gets boring because of the unlimited possibilities you can do, with building, server, mods, etc. Most games like Call of Duty, just come out with new games every so often that you have to pay another $60 for, but minecraft updates without any cost, so once you pay the mere $27, you don't have to put any more money into it. As well, the updates usually only improve the game, so you shouldn't complain about updates.
I have a small server with around 8 people (4 regularly). No plugins right now other than anti-cheat something and we're consider McMMO. Should Essentials be downloaded? I don't know much about it other than it's a ton of things.
Essentials is basically essential. It would be hard to run a server without it.

True, but your are not getting tons of donations running a server, so they kind of balance each other out if you put all the donations back into the server.

The reason for this is that there are suspicious people about who is on creative on our SMP-only server. Server owner doesn't talk much. Thanks for the responses.
Pretty sure if the names are red when you press tab, it's because a plugin does that. So they still may be op and their name would be the same as everyone else's.
I see no reason of donating since you don't know the person and who is to say what they would do with the money that you have donated.
