Minecraft is one of the most addicting games to ever exist, plus the fact that new content gets added every few months. If new updates don't keep you occupied, than you can always install mods or play on minigame servers.

And even though you're bored now, you will start playing it again someday...

Ok than, according to your logic, if iron chestplates were somehow called "iron leggings" and vice versa, it would not make sense to change them.
