Very true. Just off game sales alone, you are looking at only about 3/4 of a billion, but thats for what has already sold, so theres nothing for Microsoft to gain from that, so the rest has to come from outside of the main game itself. Microsoft "inherited" all the merchandising deals such as the Minecraft LEGO deal, which from my inability to find a store that has them in stock tells me is doing quite well. Minecraft the game is not the cash cow Microsoft was after, they wanted Minecraft the name.
Speaking of Lego Minecraft... am I the only one who thinks it would be ironically hilarious if Lego made a Minecraft game in the style of their other lego games? I would totally buy it.
