Legos ripped off Minecraft. the only reason they were "invented first" is because someone time traveled and gave them the idea of legos before computers were strong enough to run minecraft.
Most of these don't really have much use for survival. I mean why not use a simple water bucket instead of Water Magic? And why would Psiconic Magic do anything useful? I don't see much use for these magics in mapmaking either.
you're not using your imagination on how they could be useful. to answer you first question, you could put water sources further then you could be for. With the Psionic magic you could quickly pick up blocks around you including under you, which in itself has some uses. they are useful in map making because it would allow us to create "classes" and magical weapons.
I was thinking about a way "spells" could be added into Minecraft, and what better way then to allow us to Enchant Sticks with Unique Enchantments!
This is Simple, it would be just like Enchanting a stick with Aspect of Fire or Sharpness except the stick has its own list of natural Enchantments it can get. After so many uses the sticks lose durability and revert back into a normal stick or possibly a "dead" version of the Enchantment.
here are some Enchantment ideas.
Water Magic - Shoots a bolt of water that creates a temporary water source.
Fire Magic - Shoots Fire much like a Fire Charge.
Earth Magic - stuns mobs temporarily, has a cooldown.
Wind Magic - ranged knockback projectile
Light Magic - burns Undead mobs with light and has the same effect as bonemeal.
Dark Magic - shoots a bolt of darkness that turns grass into dirt, turns villagers into zombies (just for fun), and deals damage over time to none-undead mobs.
Arcane Magic - Shoots a bolt of Arcane energy that turns into a block of Arcane Energy that can be walked on. it disappears after a few seconds (think of the Rod of Ice from terraria)
Psionic Magic - instantly collects all items within a 7 block radius.
The idea behind these is to provide normal players with Utility and give mapmakers some things to play around with. These abilities can be given to any other item or weapon with programs and mods that can change items.
these can also be balanced out with Durability Costs.
Every update that contains a new hostile, i notice people complain that the mob isn't "Minecrafty" enough. i would just like to know what type of monsters everyone would agree on if added to the game. this is not a suggestion thread, just a discussion on what people think might fit the game.
I for one think Werewolfs would fit pretty well into the game, what about you guys? what do YOU think would fit with the minecraft theme?
