    Hey everyone. I apologize for the lack of recent updates. I guess I should be honest with you all and admit that I've been caught up in the recent release of new games this month. :tongue.gif: My consoles have been gathering dust for many months and now I can't stay away from them long enough to do a little coding in my allotted free time. However, no need to worry as the cooking is coming along fine. I've coded a working recipe system and made a few new test dishes. Here is a screenshot of what I have currently.



    This new block will cook your food based on what you have in the slots. The first slot is for utensils/tools and the other six are for ingredients. Having (or not having) a utensil in the first designates what types of dishes you can make. For example, having a mixer in the first slot will allow you to make juices and drinks, but a knife will allow you to cut up fish. At least, that's the idea anyway. This particular block also gives experience towards your cooking level and specific dishes have certain level requirements. I've also added a button that allows you to cook when you are ready to, and allows you to rearrange ingredients before you cook the next dish. I've also have an oven planned (which will work basically the same as this one, but will probably need to be powered by redstone) that will use other utensils like a frying pan or cooking pot.

    And that's where its currently at right now. I appreciate the support from you folks, and I promise I'll stop procrastinating once I get my gaming fix out of my system. :wink.gif: There are SOOO many good games out right now, I just can't pass them up! Can you blame me? lol Plus, Minecraft is officially coming really soon too and hopefully we'll go back to having one major release rather than a bunch of mini-prereleases. Thanks again.

    With the rhino horn dagger, maybe you could make an up-gradable variation with added
    damage / abilities, like a "diamond-tipped rhino dagger" or something similar?

    Recipe would just be the horn + a diamond, possibly other upgrades too (iron / gold).

    Awww poor Comic, from the lack of posts over the last few days hes probably up to his eyeballs in code and recipes!!

    What will the salt add? Maybe 1 heart healed per recipe, so 8 for the "seasoned" Steak Sandwich and 5 for the Calamari Kebab? Look forward to your updates Ninja, I prefer the smaller mods like yours and other ones that just add little enhancements not world changing alterations.

    Another one I like is this one, nice and simple and just adds one different tool per recipe. Hope you dont mind me linking his mod, its his first and very simple but useful!

    Need a little help please. Downloaded the SpellAPI v3.6 for 1.9 Pre5, put it in
    the mods folder and ran minecraft. Gets to Mojang screen then black screens?

    Im running...

    1= ModLoader 1.9 Pre5
    2= AudioMod 1.9 Pre5
    3= ReiMinimap 1.9 Pre5
    4= More Stackables 1.9 Pre5
    5= Recipe Book 1.9 Pre5
    6= GenuineSpellAPI_v3.6_1.9Pre5 (ModFolder)

    MC runs fine until I add SpellAPI, any ideas as to why it would do this please?

It'll be trivially easy to make your own custom doggy tag when I'm done, so if you've got an ore-adding mod, you can make a sort of add-on for people using both of our mods so they can craft doggy tags made from your mod's material if they like.


    Now that sounds like an excellent idea RBD, keep up the awesome work!!

    Hi Comic,

    Youre going to have your work cut out with ChefCraftory (my choice) with 50 fish from one mod and then all the 19 veggies from the other mod, you have a limitless amount of...

    1) Fish salads
    2) Fish and chips
    3) Vegetarian dishes

    Not to mention the 10 zillion sandwich combinations (using wheat/bread) !!

    Whatever you do, I know it will be great just like all your other work.

    Really looking forward to the cooking mod, it will be the last piece of the puzzle. Keep up the excellent effort Comic, your mods really do all fit perfectly together and are quality every time!
