It looks a bit weird... it looks like they're overlapping. I'm fairly certain that would be a huge distraction for me.

Yeah I've noticed that also, it's been irking me for a minute, been tweaking things around trying to fix that while preserving the current assets, Apparently there's a subtle overlap in the original hearts and in order to have that 'health bar' look I'm trying to play with I've been moving it around until they 'fit,' worse case I'm going with another remake, lol.

Also your help with Speedy, in turn helped me indirectly, so thank you both!

More developments... I've taken what had been noted about my resource pack's gui's unity and maybe give it some more organic ideas to it. I seen some unique things done with some woodworking shows and use of laminates that got some gears turning. I'm currently holding some of those close to my chest. However here's something I've just finished that will be available with C&TM Alpha 2

    Grass Blocks -

    New Healthbar

Also a welcome back to NorthernerSouth! Been a while.

You'd have to get permission from the company who made those textures... No one on the forums can give you such allowances.

Although likelyhood that you'd receive permission is about as likely as finding the Hope Diamond on the streets of whoknowswhere, WI

posted a message on In which folder do I find the default resource pack?

It's in .minecraft/versions/-the version you're looking for-/and the .jar itself

Unzip the jar and you'll have the default resource pack.

Not bad Neoix, would be an interesting way to build a pack, go through the different builds of MC and maybe use them as development cycles for your pack?

Got some more of my GUI done for Complete & Total Mayhem... figured the minimalist method works well with it. It's clean yet complex. Anyone happen to know if I can edit the text for the individual GUI? maybe make the font color different?

Also can add dirt to the list of blocks worked on...

Also got a download to the pack.. (this is still in Alpha 1 here, all the stuff I have for Alpha 2 will be out sometime soon)

Maybe making the faces of the block have a pixel or two depending on resolution empty on the edges so the crossing planes have room to show off without the conflict?

Short of breaking the planes of the cube to allow the gaps, that would be probably the best way to combat the z-fighting I hope?

btw, Got a new toy...a Yiynova 19'' Tablet monitor... Having some fun setting up this thing... So far it's a phenomenal machine, fast and responsive.. Just have a bit of bugginess that could be result of a system that has been modified (and probably having some old drivers from wacom gumming up the works...)

I'm going to have fun reinstalling either Ubuntu or maybe Mint and see about doing some VirtualBox fun with Windows inside.

You still have it #4, The steel's sturdy and the rust is superficial... Keep at it and you'll find yourself center again.

Glad to see the old guard's return.

I agree with Fishy, it is a brilliant recreation and it appears to fit Triton a bit better in terms of art style and visuals.

I think this type of contest would be something that could be done every month or three or something? I would like to see it happen as it looks fun and can be very flexible to the artists, generally speaking as a form of practice. I could get in on it too XD.

posted a message on Modded Minecraft - Botania Texturepack - Ideas needed

When in doubt, reference and research... If you feel 'out' of ideas, garner fuel of visual media and refer to anything that might have forms or processes that appeal to the concepts you're trying to develop.

Also don't be afraid to experiment, no masterpiece has been made in this world that didn't have a dozen, hundred or two sketches. They might (for the most part) be lost to us but they were there... they were.

posted a message on How To Create 3D Block Showcase Images for Texture Pack Threads! (GIMP Only)

LRG, I'm quite glad that you happened upon this thread, I've always wanted to try this out with the GIMP yet I couldn't find it in the depths of old threads...

I'm also sure that you could do that if you want for your own personal images/showcases, that's the lovely thing about this example is that you can modify it for your imagery. This method was set up for people who wanted to show off textures of their blocks without actually using Minecraft,. I honestly don't know if Sam, the OP of this thread, has been active as of late or not... I've not been very active personally...

This has been a glorious necropost and one that should be added to the All Inclusive Guide...
