I'm searching for a redstone construction which is build like this:
so a 2x2 square with stone pressure plates on it.
It needs to activate if one signal line when you walk from south to north
and needs to activate another signal line and NOT the other one if you walk south
something like that

Ther other issue is,
I'm searching for a bi-directional redstone repeater which uses as less redstone torches than 4 pieces or is smaller than 3x5x2
You can make SOME allowance by forcing a 5 second delay over an AND gate after the elevator is used. While the delay is in effect, the pressure plates do nothing.
Mh I dont like timing devices. Because if someone new to it uses this, he will break it anyhow.
Maybe I should open a new Thread to search for Pro Redstoners ^^

One thing that would help, sending signals vertically upwards can be accomplished like this:
with torches being redstone torches.

but when calling the boat, I want as less delay as possible.
As you can see it already needs enough time to come down ^^
Another idea then:
Pressure plate linked to pistons, which act as the front sliding doors of the elevator. Same plate connected to boat dropper.
Thus, step on plate, half a second later (5 delays) the doors (Pistons) open. Another half a second, the boat falls.
Thus splitting one long wait into two pieces.
mh I think I could make these. I give it a try in the afternoon after university =)
Problem is, when you are leaving the elevator, you will call another boat? Thats kinda bad :-D

and saves the direction where the person came from?
its quite diffi because of the delays and using RS-NOR-Latches ist quite space-robbing. Maybe someone already invented something like that?
You need a better computer... I couldn't even watch that. It was like a slideshow. Cool idea though from what I saw works well.
For that reason I added the Save-Game...
And every video is a slideshow. This one though is on 10 fps so you can see the slides better.
And I have one, but I dont think its neccessary..
But not every ppl have an upload rate with T3 or something else. Maybe you are rich, but not am I. So I tried to reduce file-size to about 10-15mb at most.

Yeah, but I was trying to find ways to make a station not dependent on boosters. Very true nonetheless.

but the dispensing thingie wasnt reliable to me in the past,
does it really throw the items ONLY the one in front?
sometimes it did happen to me, that it threw a bit further
and the plate couldnt be activate
(was in 1.3 oder something else)
What happens to your inventory when you update and then visit the world?
Everything in the added slots is lost the next time it writes the inventory data.

Thanks, and I could definitely consider that. That was actually my original idea, but I saw how easy just adding slots was and went with that.
Also, ModLoader support is top priority, hopefully I'll have it working during or after the weekend.
Because some of us believe stacking minecarts is a glitch, as it requires a door or ladder to even work, that will be fixed.

and not bumbing into each other.
It this happens, I stop playing minecraft. The nerf on minecarts would be too great having no vertical dispenser anymore..

I would say that they do have merit, but it depends. If I were to use this, I'de have a really big one at each of the heavily used stations. This way those stations would get the cart in the least amount of time. From here it branches off to the smaller stations, which helps with overflow and other problems. The basic idea is to make the dispensers like trees - Big branches, then little branches. A dispenser right between two unequally used stations wouldn't be as efficient.

and including a overflow protection which sends your minecart to the next station in priority queue.
because if you have a dispenser at your station and it holdes about 50 minecarts
and your lesser ones just holds 20 minecarts,
where are the other 30 are going if everyone uses the minecarts up.
best solution is to loop every station so the other 30 overflow minecarts will flow back to the main station.
For this purpose I always have a Maintance track below the one I am travalling on
