People on the forums flame you for showing off your hacked creation.
I get Hitler, Stalin, and Lenin in one car and have them bob their heads to Haddaway's What is Love on international live TV, bypassing all other programs and only displaying that for its full duration.
Wood. I don't play SMP much, and 6 wood is enough to keep out any vanilla mob.
Now, should Notch add those Red Moons everyone's been talking about, I would gladly change my vote, then run away screaming and downloading every OP weapon mod I can get my hands on.
It's possible he just placed the clay blocks there.
Now why the hell would I be doing that in between flying around on a grappling hook mod?
WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE- oh methinks I'll put one over the MC forums.
Anyway, I put the seed and coordinates in this thread. Why would I do that as well?
Anyway,

I once found clay underground near lava....
Pics? That would be pretty epic. Except I've never seen sand that far underground, and clay is usually or always surrounded by sand.

Perhaps clay deposits are just seeded in sand at sea level, regardless of how near water may be. Has anyone ever found clay near a random water pool in a desert? Or on the border of one; I'm not sure if water pools actually appear in deserts.
Good theory, but every patch of clay I have ever found since alpha, and I've found enough to kill more than half my inventory space at one point, was next to some significant body of water.
Thanks for the resize. Anyway, I did a bit of exploring, and there's a small puddle of water, but it's some distance off and extremely small. You can kind of see it to the left. Not anything to be considered, and still too far to be normal spawning conditions for clay.
My current coordinates, for anyone curious, are
X: 306
Y: 90 (I stacked up on some wood for a better look at the big picture)
Z: 5
I did, and most of the other traps aren't any more effective.
Dispenser arrows don't cause the knockback of a regular bow, I believe, and the only traps powerful enough to kill will incinerate the items as well. What plugins does the server use that allow teleportation? If it has Craftbook or whatever plugin that is, you can use those as traps.
And why do you want to get him? What does he have anyway? Your diamonds?
Or could it just be the seed? Glacier's known to have some quirks to it, but I was dicking around with the grappling hook mod when I flew over and saw
(I know it's night, but I just have horrible timing like that, and imageshack screwed up the size for some odd reason.)
I thought clay was only supposed to spawn by water. Either this is another of the Glacier seed's mysteries or Notch added new locations for clay.
Well, what do you guys think?
I saw some guy getting his thread derailed because he ended the OP with "discuss." Don't want this to suffer the same fate.
Lead a creeper or 2, into his house while he's out, and maybe a large group of zombies in one of his smaller rooms.
If your server performs like most others, the zombies will target him as soon as you leave the chunk and/or he smacks them, and lag will do the rest.

...you didn't read the OP...did you? or any other post for that matter.
It has to be a trap.
Easily resettable would be great, but not necessary
I in fact did.
It technically is a trap. But fine, try making a deep 1x1 pit directly below a tree that gets in the way of his house.
I know most people to cut away at a tree from the bottom up, and use an axe to speed up the process.
And they don't like big trees blocking their beautiful house.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE...
This is all amazing. It would add a whole new beauty and diversity on top of the original layer of epic.
A few of my own suggestions after reading the full thing:
- There should be some sort of device for burning a track from one record to another. It would require that extra diamond and a stack or 2 of coal, but could be a (somewhat costly) way to produce and market your pieces.
- To add a bit of modernness to it, another thing that should be added in are DJ turntables, with a recipe with some redstone and sticks on a table sort of thing such as:
Red wool is redstone.
Along those lines, though needs some work.
People have been mixing tracks since the 1900s, with no need for a computer (though it did make DJing a hell of a lot easier). You could stick up to 3 records on 1, and toggle them to play and stop with the keyboard, and scratch and mix with the mouse.
- Also, there should be some sort of way to protect and preserve your painting.
- Charcoal could be a potential tool for writing as well as for a rough sketch that gives that crude effect dyes can't.
Notch should add the ability for a player to assassinate another player (or mob) from behind like in Halo, that would add a completely new level of depth to the combat
Better be toggleable. And perhaps you can only do that with a knife, which is otherwise half the damage of the sword.
Else the Black Ops community will be laughing their asses off at the amount of campers in SMP.

OT: No way to grow them. I haven't heard rain can grow them but possibly.
Not the rain, but the darkness that comes with it.
I haven't had weather to date, but I sometimes walk out in the morning and find a mushroom or two under an overhang or supertree.

I introduce redstone to the ancients and teach them of logic gates and all that good stuff.
One RS torch is capable of powering a nation.

Make it double barreled.

As well as his other posts.

Just look at some of those.
Anyway, it's a mod. Yippee.
