Yep me, there is no direction at the moment. Notch is just implementing incomplete features to try and make it into both a sandbox and a RPG, but that wont work at all obviously. Do both correctly, by completing said features or don't do it all. I regret my alpha purchase.
Or instead of mods and DLC, Notch could have released a feature complete game that includes both Sandbox and RPG. Why should the consumer have to fix the game he promised?
because its a beta and not complete yet. it will be "released" next month. tomorrow will be the feature freeze and they will be focusing on bugs and whatnot until its release on nov 18.
I shall never again be impressed by anything related to Minecraft, if they don't optimize it to at least the level of 1.7.3.
Right now, the fps drop with each update and there are more and more lags. And of course there's always the "Minecraft has run out of memory" error to make your day. So what if I have lots of new cool features, if the game lags and makes me nervous. Oh and btw. I don't have a crappy pc.
About anything else I have to say this: Too many new aggressive or passive mobs, too few of the good useful ones and the village npc's look very weird for now. As if they had penises (penis's? Pena?) for noses...
Also, there's this new awesome mod that makes the water look very realistic. They could put that into the game too. (that is if it wouldn't cause the game to lag on the most powerful pc on the Earth).
I knew long before 1.8 was released that it will screw up the game a lot and I think the same of 1.9. God, don't let me be right.
Yes, it's a terrible update that goes a long way toward turning MC into a total joke and ruin of what it could have been.
Ie awesome.
Here's a chart to illustrate what I mean:
Pistons: YES
Potions: NO
Minecarts: YES
Enchantments: NO
Redstone: YES
Experience: NOOOO
well then dont use them. with the exception of the experience bar, you can go threw the entire game without even seeing those things.i only use my enchantment table as a piece of decoration in my little library and im barely getting into making potions. probly wont do too much with them.
How long will it take until Notch implements some super-duper ore makes it possible that furnaces have energy for 1000 blocks with one piece of said ore – Only mineable with some enchanted tools and on “Strength IV” potion?
are people so out of their minds they have to complain about something that doesnt even exist?
That is still an optimistic assumption about the potential impact for a skill system, not a fact.
really? i find it hard to believe a skill system would prevent one from mining for resources, building, exploring and fighting monsters. the biggest change minecraft has had was to the food and hunger and even then it is easy to deal with.
...How could adding more stuff change the genre of Minecraft? It will always be a sandbox game. As in you can do whatever the **** you want. Don't like it?
There's always that little "X" button on the upper right corner of the window, or red circle in the upper left corner if you're on a mac, that can fix that problem for you.
exactly. the new addition do absolutely nothing to change the game. i can do now everything i could have done in the previous versions. the only addition is more stuff to collect and build with. i dont have much experience with servers but the ones i have visited had special plug ins to protect the spawn and the nearest city. if its just a natural server than everyone should expect people to grief. its part of minecraft unfortunately.
ya, notch never does anything. notch didnt add the baby animals everyone wanted, notch didnt nerf enderman which everyone complained about, notch never does anything.
well that's the thing should I really need to double up my entire glass base and underwater glass tunnels just to stop a feature that is meant to tell players there is water/lava above them? that and building underwater already is a pain in itself.
well that and most of its glass... how can water leak though solid GLASS?
because its not solid glass? they are made of blocks stuck together end to end.
Is Minecraft only going to be for people with rich / indulgent parents? Most people I know complain of lag.
i have a releatively average computer and my minecraft is just fine. as good as i think minecraft is, buying a computer for it is a gigantic waste of money.
