Trying to figure out of this may be a mod that's causing this to display, or if it's just a feature of Vanilla MC (I think it's Vanilla, but just need confirmation),
What am I talking about?
The gray box above the Travelling Merchant's head, with white text displaying his name. It only happens on certain mobs, usually named ones, like bosses. (not talking about the green health bar, I know that's from the "Neat" mod.)
Whats up people. I've been consistently playing for the past 2 weeks with no issue but last night my computer blue screened and restarted and ever since then all the servers in my multiplayer list ping for a very long time and then I get the red X. I've tried all the basic solutions such as turning off firewall, reinstalling, restarting my PC, restarting my router, and even adding a TCP and UDP port to no avail. I've also looked through 3 pages of google with no results. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated
Is there a specific message you get if you try to connect to one of those servers? I understand you get the red X but try anyway, and see what you get. The message you get may help with diagnosing the issue.
Is there a way to make this mod work with something like Random Things's Blood Moon event? It's supposed to spawn more monsters more frequently but I think JAS is overriding it. Wondering if there's workaround or maybe an event I can add to make this compatible?
I've just made up a modpack (private one), and I just dont know, why I only have 4 hearts. (I have added an image down below)
So my question: IS THIS YOUR FAULT???
If so, please tell me how to remove some of those """"""helpful"""""" mods.
(some of them are helpful. Not all.)
Pretty late on the response, as I don't come to this thread much, but..... just read the OP. Each mod is detailed there with what it does and also tells you how to remove the ones you don't want. Both of the things you're pointing out are "caused" by this pack of mods.
You could try to change that Biome Cap from -1 to 1 and lowering CREATURE Spawn Cap to a little bit, like 10 or so.
Also, be sure that the mob "Type-Enabled" in the Entity Handler is the one you want them with
That unfortunately seemed to have made the problem worse. I don't want to turn down creature spawns, either. I shouldn't have to lower their cap. Is there a flag I can put in that should stop them from spawning out in the ocean? Same is happening with mobs now that I've done a little more exploring.
I am also using BiomeTweaker, and I think there's a way to use that, but I realize this isn't the thread for that mod. If anyone has any knowledge on that, it wouldn't hurt to share. Otherwise I'll head over to the BT thread for other options.
ok, thanks anyway. if you have mcedit you might be able to delete the offending arrow, assuming you can find it. i'll see what i can find my end. no eta though, sorry.
Hey Salvestrom,
Any luck on finding a fix on this? It seems that whenever the lizardmen are hit by an arrow in a certain direction, the crash happens that I mentioned before. I can post a fresh report if you need it but it's the exact same thing and I've been able to reproduce it a few times.
Thank you all for your assistance. Could have sworn I'd looked at those bug reports but did not see the one you linked to the first time I checked. It helped, uninstalled and reinstalled avast and no longer get the child loop problem. Now I just can't mess with the latest version without it crashing. Found a bug report on it so I'll be keeping an eye on it.
"I'm currently trying to integrate Metallurgy and Tinkers Construct with MF2 using MineTweaker. Because of the way hot ingots and items are handled, I'm able to heat ingots, which is great. I'm also able to craft hot versions of TiC tool parts, which need to be quenched. Also great."
Don't really care about the Metallurgy part as my pack is far past integrating that mod, but I'd like to be able to make hot TC ingots and hot versions of TC parts, so they have to be quenched.
I have the 4.5.1 version of Mo' Creatures and I play 1.4.6 with it. I found a 4.5.1 download on "Minecraft-Forum" just by typing "minecraft mo creatures v4.5.1 download", and if you just click the GREEN button(don't click on any other button that says "download", it will probably give you viruses) in the middle on "Minecraft-Forum" that says "download" it should work, at least it did for me.
Who knows where that version came from or what version it really is.. or what it's really running in the background. I'd get rid of it and only download from trusted sources.
I'm looking for a version of this mod that doesn't displace water when you assemble a boat. I'm using 1.7.10. I believe I used this mod before without that issue, but I'm on the latest/last build for that MC version. Any help would be appreciated.

Try doing the manual update for whichever OS you're running by following the instructions here:

Thanks. That's what I thought too but I wanted confirmation from someone other than myself.
/facepalm
So far only one person has read and understood my question.
I don't need to know what mod the Travelling Merchant is from. That's not the question at all.
Simply asking where the text box feature is from that the arrows are pointing to in the provided image.

*SNIP*
Ignore this until I try the beta. I thought I had it downloaded already.

It's in the OP.
(uses raw manaesence, not infused)
Infused manaesence is used to repair artifacts of the same material type in the Anvil

Thank you! I'd say in this case if you don't hear from me in the next week or so, it's probably fixed.

You're welcome, I'm glad it solved your issue!

Not sure if anyone's around here anymore, but..
From MineFantasyII-Cont Github issues:

Does anyone know how to set up such a thing?
