I would like a better peaceful. I'd like an option so hunger goes down, but there are no mobs; and an option where there ARE mobs, but your hunger bar is always at full.
Also, try to see if you can add enchants. A cool enchant would be a bow that is drawn back faster, or one that has a chance to not use your arrows.

MultiMC 5

MultiMC is a free, open source launcher for Minecraft, managed by @Forkk13, @peterixxx, and @drayshak. UPDATE 01/16/2014
Snapshot 14w3b introduces the ability to texture both arms and legs! It also gives every other body part an extra 3D layer similar to the hat layer in the original skin! Awesome! These new extra layers are covered up by Armor, just like the hat area. The new skin file uses a 64x64 layout with the old skin at the top and the optional overlays in the bottom half. Old 64x32 skins are still supported without modification.

However... this addition will not apply to similarly shaped mobs (zombies, zombie pigmen, etc) and it doesn't work on armor. Whether these things will change in the future is anyone's guess.

As happy as I am for the player improvements, I can't help but wonder if my suggested layout could still benefit the mobs and armors. If nothing else, it would still allow for asymmetrical mob skins and armor while staying within the small 64x32 file size. But then they would have a major discrepancy between formats...

I still like the idea of applying my format to the new skin layout - the bottom half of the 64x64 texture could contain the overlay regions. The only difference then is that the head and hat area on the bottom half would not be used. Perhaps those areas could then be left empty for modders and any other small additions that Mojang made add in the future....

What follows is the original post, while I decide if I should further modify it to try and push for the other mobs/armors to have asymmetrical textures. Either way, this is a huge victory!

Basically saying "maybe" in the future. The important part is that Mojang is aware of the suggestion and was moved enough to respond to the topic!

I am forever amazed with how much detail minecrafters have been able to squeeze out of the extremely limited space provided by the game's textures. Skins especially are quite a challenge due to being confined to a 64x32 pixel size. And yet there are many, many examples of beautiful and amazing skins out there that make the most of this limited space. And yet, it could be possible to grant everyone a little more... to be blunt, the current skin texture for the player character has a lot of unused and wasted space. For those counting, there are 480 unused pixels in the texture (out of a total of 2048).

With a little juggling, we could free up enough space to have independently textured left and right arms and legs! This is without changing the image size, it's still all contained within the same 64x32 png file. Of course, the player model would need to be updated to use this new mapping. Here is an enlarged view:
Pros:
+ independently textured arms and legs+ maintains the original 64x32 size = no additional skin server load/stress
+ keeps all sections grouped together in a fairly intuitive way.
+ sub sections follow a mapping very similar to the original (with only some parts slightly shifted)+ can also be applied to all armors
+ can also be applied to other humanoid mobs: zombie, pigmen, zombie_pigmen
+ can also be applied to skeletons - with slight modifications for the thinner arms/legs

Cons:
- one-time conversion needed for all texture packs for affected mobs and armors
- mods that make use of current skin's blank area may not be able to use the new format
- skin creation tools/viewers would need to update for the new format (difficult for discontinued tools)
- makes all current skins and skin repositories outdated (this is a big problem - see below)

Problem: Compatibility with Legacy Skins
There are hundreds of thousands of skins floating out there on the net. It is not reasonable to expect all of them to be updated or converted. Remember when they flipped the direction of the bottom-head/hat texture areas on the skins? There are still countless skins out there that haven't been fixed. This is a major change so it can't simply be done and let all the current content out there suddenly break. There will be backlash. On top of that, more recently the Minecraft Launcher has been augmented to allow easy access to older versions of the game - versions which absolutely expect the player skin to be using the old format. Finally, there is no reliable way to program the game to detect the different kind of skin formats based only on areas of the skin file that appear to be used. This is because the skins often have extra content in the "unused" areas. This content could be in the form of an author's name/logo, bleed off from the main image, or pixels used by specific mods on the skin.

Bottom line, we need to have a simple way for the game to know how to differentiate between the old and new player skin formats so both may be used at the same time by different players. Note that this problem only affects player skins. Mobs and armors are always controlled by the local texture pack, so there is no need to support the old format for those assets.

Below are several possible solutions to supporting the legacy skins. These are only suggestions, as I do not have intimate knowledge of how Minecraft and the skin system works under the covers. What I propose here may be incorrect or not applicable to the system, but I hope it might at least give Mojang ideas on how to implement this request.

Solution A: Increase new skin file to be 64x64
Increase the "new" player skin size to be 64x64 pixels. Place my new format in the top half and leave the rest blank. Let the old skins stay as using the 64x32 size. There are several reasons for this approach.

When the game client downloads the player skins, it can easily tell the difference in size. A 64x32 skin would use the traditional mapping we see today. Nothing changes and all the current skins out there are still ok to use. A 64x64 texture would signal the game to switch over to using the new format for that player. Since the game knows which player is using which skin, it can easily keep track of which format to use for who, and allow both types to co-exist at the same time.

The extra space in the bottom half of the "new" skin can be used for future player character enhancements by Mojang, in case they decide to add more. As an example... if we ever get custom capes, perhaps the texture could be saved to the player skin and use the extra space here.

One major drawback to this approach is that the larger image file size could adversely affect the skin servers that Mojang use.

Solution B: stay 64x32 but use embedded metadata
If it proves undesirable to alter the skin file dimensions, another possible solution could be to have all new skins require metadata content added to them. Then, similar to solution A, the game would examine each skin file it downloads and search for the appropriate metadata flag. If it finds none, use the old formatting style on that skin's owning player. If it finds the appropriate metadata flag, use the new format for that player.

One problem with this approach is that png files don't have a standard way of encoding metadata. So I imagine Mojang would need to create a small utility to "stamp" skins with the metadata flag they would expect to use. This would require some extra care for making new skins on the part of the community. But on the up side, this could pave the way for an easy versioning system for additional future skin formats.

Another drawback would be the reduction in free space that some mods may have come to depend on. In this case, I believe the only solution would simply to have those mods not use the new style. They would have to require their users to say using the old skin format. So they wouldn't get the extra arm and leg, but the mods wouldn't break either. A fair trade off I think.

tldr Summary:
I propose a new skin layout for the humanoid mobs, player, and armor which would grant space for both arms and legs to be textured independently. It would be ideal to support both this new format and the old one at the same time for player skins - so as to not break all the current skins out there. There are two (possibly more) ways I can think of doing this:

How to Use:
If placed on floor the Job of this item is to rotate the one item above it 90 degrees clockwise Instantly each pulse of power, Right clicking the Side of it makes it set for counter-clockwise or vice versa.


If placed on the ceiling the Rotator is turned upside down and rotates the block below it 90 degrees clockwise Instantly each pulse of power and By Right clicking it the Side of it makes it set for counter-clockwise or vice versa.

To Place block on the Rotator Just Hold Shift while placing.

If Breakable items like tourches and signs are placed on top of rotator or a rotated block they will not brake or pop off from the rotation.

When the Rotations are Changed the Arrows on the side turns to the Correct direction needed.


When Right Clicked The Rotator will make a Click Noise and When Power is applied it will Make

a quick Buzz noise. To not be confused with the sound of Pistons.


And if power stays ON the Rotator it still only Rotate 90 degrees once, Similar to how Dispensers Work
sence update 13w04a came out Despensers and Droppers can now be faces up and down, I think rotators Could maybe work on there sides to add a way to turn these devices clockwise or counter-clockwise much like clocks.

Installation
New Launcher
1) Run the latest launcher and download 1.6.2
2) Go to %appdata%/.minecraft/versions
3) Copy the directory named 1.6.2 and paste as 1.6.2ML(you may name however you please, but everything must match) so there are now two copies.
4) Enter new directory and rename the jar and json files to match the directory.
5) Open the json file in your prefered Notepad program and change:

"id": "1.6.2",

to

"id": "1.6.2ML",

6) Now with the jar you should do the steps below under Windows starting at number 3.

Old Launcher
Windows:
1) Open up %appdata%, if you don't know how to do this, start>run, then type in %appdata%
2) Browse to .minecraft/bin
3) Open up minecraft.jar with WinRAR or 7zip.
4) Drag and drop the necessary files into the jar.
5) Delete the META-INF folder in the jar.
6) Run Minecraft, enjoy!

Macintosh:
1) Go to Applications>Utilities and open terminal.
2) Type in the following, line by line:

cd ~
mkdir mctmp
cd mctmp
jar xf ~/Library/Application\ Support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar

Elemental Arrows 1.6.2
The Elemental Arrows mod adds four new types of arrows; explosive arrows, fire arrows, ice arrows, and a joke weapon, egg arrows.. They are crafted the same way as normal arrows, but the head is replaced based on the element; gunpowder for explosive, coal for fire, snowball for ice, and egg for, well, egg. Crafting an explosive arrow only gives you one arrow, and it explodes upon impact. Crafting a fire arrow gives you one arrow, that will ignite stuff upon impact. Crafting an ice arrow gives you one arrow, that will freeze water into ice, lava springs into obsidian, put out fire, and break torches. Egg arrows spawn chickens upon impact with the ground, but there's a secret too. Lightning arrows strike lightning where ever they hit, use diamond in recipe. Type [time] into a sign, and it will show the current time. You can also type [x], [y], or [z] and find the current position of the sign in regards to that axis. [a|b] is a redstone input function for signs, where text replacing 'a' will be shown when the sign is powered, otherwise 'b' is shown. Type [light], and it will show you the current light level of the sign's position. Death Chest 1.6.2
When you die, if you have a chest in your inventory, it will be placed where you die, or in the closest available spot. The chest will be filled with as many items as possible. Items stored in the crafting slot are still lost, as usual, and any excess that won't fit in the chest will be dropped.

AudioMod 1.6.2(Not updated for now)
AudioMod is an upgrade of sorts, and a modder's utility. Included in this mod is CodecIBXM, created by Paul at www.paulscode.com, who is the creator of the sound system used in Minecraft. It allows Minecraft to play (in addition to ogg, wav, and mus files), xm, s3m, and mod files. The only readily available feature of this mod is the ability to add new music, however, it adds support for modders to add new records and sound effects. There is a slight increase in load time when using this mod. Using this, you can also use custom sounds, alongside the originals. Custom music and sound goes into the resources folder, music in mod/music. Custom sounds go into mod/sound. For example, if I were to add a new footstep sound effect to stone, I'd put the new stone1.ogg in mod/sound/step. In game, the new sound would occasionally be played, alongside the originals. Custom sounds for things like the menu click and water do not always work, at the moment.

Floodgate 1.6.2
Floodgate block can be used as either a floodgate, allowing toggleable water and lava falls, or as a trapdoor. When you place the floodgate control block, it will place a gate in front of the control block in the direction you are facing. Applying redstone power to this will remove the gate. Use the control block to open the GUI where you can place supporting blocks that will replace how the gate looks. Requires ModLoader 1.6.2.

Spawner GUI 1.6.2
Adds a GUI to all mob spawners, that will allow you to pick what mob to spawn. I also reallowed mining spawners. You can disable spawners with redstone aswell. Should be compatible with all mobs, but don't expect the mobs with special spawn conditions to work everywhere. Animals require grass, Monsters require darkness, Slimes require being in their special chunks, and 0-16 depth. Requires ModLoader 1.6.2.

Block Distortion 1.6.2
This mod is just an experiment. Everything that is 3D (Mostly noticeable on blocks) has a random distortion. Known issues include: Clouds randomize as they move across the sky, held items look rather odd, and GUI elements may be screwed up. I don't recommend using this mod long.

Biosphere 1.6.2
This is a new generator. You may select this generator in More World Options when creating world. In this generator, the world is made up of massive spheres with glass domes. Inside these spheres are random biomes. There is a random chance of a lake being placed in the center of each sphere. Usually water, but rarely lava. Bordering this lake you will find sand for water, or gravel for lava. Connecting each sphere is a wooden bridge with fence rail. Beside each sphere is a smaller sphere, which is where you will find diamond and lapis lazuli. These ores only occur here, the others are equally spread throughout the spheres. The cave generator used here is a modified Nether cave generator, where like on the surface, will generate lava below a certain level. if this lava reaches the outside, an obsidian wall will be made to hold it in. Many options can be changed in ".minecraft/config/Biosphere.cfg". Requires ModLoader 1.6.2.

Armor Stand 1.6.2
This block will give you a place to show off your armor. Just place the block and right click on the platform. You can choose from a selection of skins to hold your armor, as well as have it stare at you, constantly. You may also change the texture of platform by putting block in the last slot. Known issues include: placing a block inside of dummy, standing on its head, possible inability for mobs to path around it. Recipe is 3 solid stone blocks along bottom, with 2 sticks in the middle. Requires ModLoader 1.6.2.

I have never seen this happen to anyone besides when the world generator was changed and biomes were switched around on old worlds. So my opinion is no. Many great things have come to the game because of Jeb, I think he is improving it greatly.

I got really bored, so I decided to build this! It is all done! Here is some pictures of it. Comment on what you think! (I don't mind some criticism.) The texture pack is Sphax 64x.

I've played over 4-5 times already, and I love it. But I do have some in's and out's about this Adventure Map. And so, I've decided to make a review of it.

Quality:
This map is very well made, by using MCEdit and NEdit or whatever the mods are called - Hypixel has done this map very well in a very nice Legend Of Zelda-like Adventure Map. From Elites to actual Bosses - I adore the battles, the scenery, and even the dialogue!

Replay Value:
Whether it's with friends, or *Forever* Alone, this map is always enjoyable. And in my opinion, deserves a second map, even if it wasn't to be continued. I totally agree this map has a lot of Replay value, even if your bad at fighting or kick zombie ass in Hardcore mode! Never the less, I have one problem. It's nice in replay value and all, but a bit short. I hope to see more in the next map.

Scenery and Decor:
Well worth the wait for this map, if I saw a trailer before it would come out! The actual mansion itself is a nice touch, and the outside couldn't be better! The boss areas fit nicely, the trading house and even the final boss room are amazing. Hypixel, you've out done yourself entirely.

Total Rating:
With a great view, and a lot of replay value. A sequel fits nicely to this Adventure Map.

No. No no no no no. Levels are as easy to get as anything these days, just enchant a bunch of picks until you get a fortune III. Seriously, The entire point of Iron/gold dropping themselves is to have a use for coal, and being somewhat realistic. real iron ore comes unrefined....you have to smelt it into slag, then pound it out on an anvil to get an ingot. I think what we have is fine.

Doesn't seem very beneficial to the me. If you threw it at someone, you would have just given them a weapon to use on you.

At least it makes the Nether Star a lot more useful. In my opinion the star should just take damage rather than drop at your foe's feet for them to pick up (assuming they are a player).
