extreme hills pre 1.7 flower forest post 1.7! If the flower forest is hilly then bonus! I hate too much flat land. I love to build in mountains and use them as part of my various other builds too. You get resources while building and things look so cool too. I also like to make waterfalls out of mountain sides.

Fair enough. I understand that and agree 100%. Not everyone is going to see it the way we do or have the idea to do the research. I am sure there are many who didn't realize the game would be so complex. If it wasn't for watching my fiance play I know I would have no clue. Even after a month or more of research I still had lots of questions. I suppose it is just proof of how much content is in the game.
@op you seem to be rather rude to people who disagree with you. You also claim that they haven't given you reason even when they have. I think it is more like you don't like their reason. That is not their fault. It is yours. As for me, I never play on hard so it makes no never mind to me.
@OP I suggest checking out tutorials as suggested by others and also checking out the wiki. I search for what ever I need more info on and it has always helped me. I would do a lot of reading on subjects such as; surviving the first night, mobs, basic crafting (ie chests, crafting tables, furnaces etc) as well as research into other aspects of the game that interest you. The green things you are talking about I am assuming are creepers unless you are talking about zombies. Looking into the different mobs and how they attack you as well as how to kill/defeat them would be in your best interest. That is, if you have a desire to keep playing on easy/normal/hard. Don't be afraid to ask for help if needed again and ignore people's mean comments. You can't learn if you don't research and ask. = ) Despite what some of these guys would want you to believe we were ALL new once!

We've all been there. No reason to make the OP feel stupid for not knowing or for asking for help. It just so happens I got lucky as I was introduced by my fiance. I read all I could for at least a month prior to playing. Doesn't mean everyone has the same opportunities. I still have troubles with certain things I don't make often (ie fences and ladders). Does that mean I am stupid? Maybe they didn't know where to go to look for the info. My fiance sent me a list of sites or I would not know where to go myself. Just saying there is no reason to make them feel lame or dumb.
They're dicks. That is all. Some people are immature and mean so they ruin other people's stuff. They are jealous due to a lack of building talent/possession of "important/wealthy" items "diamonds, emeralds, gold etc so they take and destroy. The words I think they are can not be said here. I find it far from funny or amusing.
Hey guys-this whole torch debate is pointless. Some people are torch junkies, others not. Who cares??? It won't change anything. It's not like torch junkies with automatically start playing in the dark!
As for my list:
under rated-Stained clay, stained glass, decorating, mooshrooms, emeralds
over rated: "winning", having too many diamonds or too many of anything, overly large farms, auto farming, generators, pvp the list goes on!
I have to say the Blaze Rod needs some tweaking, in my opinion. I really like the balancing and such that forces you to acquire one before youre able to brew potions. And yes theyre needed for strength and fire res potions, but I'll farm blazes for a session till I hit a stack of rods, and then I literally wont need to go blaze farming again for MONTHS. It would be really nice if the rods had some other useful purpose. I've been on one SMP server where a plugin made blaze rods function in a furnace exactly like a block of coal. At least this gives them another useful purpose, and I wouldnt mind seeing something like that added to vanilla.
You CAN use blaze rods in furnaces. I don't know smelt totals though. You can also craft eye of enders and potions with them so they do have other purposes.

Maybe that large dome can be the center and you can create smaller ones branching off from them. The one you built could be the entrance then each dome could be for something needed (ie farms, storage etc) like mentioned above. And I agree about the staircase. You will get annoyed with swimming up after awhile.
