I know it's against the rules to ask about updates, but it's been weeks now since the 1.6 update and not a peep. The people on our server want to play 1.6, but we would rather wait for enchantview to be updated.. However, if no update is coming we would like to know that so we can move on.

I know he's under no obligation to any of us, but a quick, "i'm working on it" or "No!, Bugger off!" would at least be polite.

As for your install instructions.. I posted this a few days back, and am also still confused about the install instructions (which I read and tried frustratingly to follow)...

Just wrestled with installing EnchantView client side (MC 1.5.1) before I try it on the server.. I managed to get it working, but not by following the install instructions..

Now I am concerned because I'm not sure if I have actually installed it correctly since I wasn't able to follow the install instructions and instead simply dumped the contents of the minecraft forge, bombzen API and EnchantView client into my minecraft.jar

The first place your instructions lose me is "3. Put the two class files inside minecraft.jar". None of the zip files for the client side install contain only 2 class files.. The client zip for EnchantView has 9 class files in it.. Which 2 class files am I supposed to be placing into the minecraft.jar??

The next step of the instructions states "4. Put the thebombzen/ folder inside minecraft.jar". I can find no "thebombzen" folder in any of the zip files you had me download (minecraft forge, EnchantView Client, Bombzen API). Do you want me to make a new folder in the minecraft.jar named "thebombzen"??

By merely dumping all the contents of the 3 zip files into the minecraft.jar, It would appear that enchantview is functioning, but I have to wonder at the fact that in order to get it to work, I had to completely ignore your installation directions. Did I do this wrong?

I can see now you have edited your installation instructions, omitting the "2" from step 3, and any mention of "thebombzen" directory.

The only thing I can think of was those install instructions were from a previous release and hadn't been updated properly. Next time, maybe you should go back and look at it when someone tells you they are confused by your instructions rather than simply calling them a moron...

I finally realized that the only files I needed to put in the minecraft.jar (aside for minecraft forge) were azd.class and cw.class (as these were the only two in conflict with original mojang class files). The rest of your files (from both the API and the EV mod) I put into a "thebombzen" folder in the mods folder of .minecraft.. This configuration works well.

I also was able to verify the server install works great by simply creating a "mods" directory in the server install loaction and placing the EV server files in there.

Perhaps this is all what you intended in your install instructions.. If so, it was not discernible from the words you had written.

posted a message on Help with SMP server problem...
    Just figured this out..

Realized that things I made in a different location were working fine and tried reducing the "spawn protection radius" and that fixed it. When we started the game, we didn't know we should have moved farther away from the initial spawn since it's a family server with no outside players.

posted a message on Help with SMP server problem...
I am running a completely vanilla Minecraft SMP server and I am having a problem where anything I create as an operator is unusable by any non operators on the server. This includes containers and redstone items.

I am the admin on the server, but I am also a player (it's a family server) and I need for the players to be able to use the things I make.

So far in searching the only suggestions I have found is to use mods, but I don't want to. Is this behavior normal? It seems strange if so, for admins to be unable to create usable content.

    Any suggestion?

I don't know what the solution is but I know it isn't normal behavior, if your using the /give command to spawn in items then anyone who has them in their inventory should be able to use them. I'm not that familiar with with the SMP server commands/setup so nothing is jumping out at me as an obvious solution. You may want to post this question in the Server Administration Support sub-forum where people more familiar with SMP set up might be able to tell you what is doing it.

Thanks! The problem isn't with the give command, rather it's any items that I place (chests, doors, buttons, fence gates, etc) are unusable by non operator players.

For some reason I didn't see that sub forum and put it here (feeling like it was probably out of place), Thanks for the help.

posted a message on Inventory management..
1.5 change log states I can consolidate like items in my inventory by shift+double left clicking on an item stack. I have tried both clicking on an item stack first then shift+double clicking a stack, and also not selecting a stack first. I have even watched youtube videos of people doing it. I am running 1.51, did they remove this functionality in that update? If so, it isn't documented. Am I doing something wrong?

I mean it sort of works, but this is no ordinary IPB forum so don't expect everything you see on other ones to be on MCF

Maybe this thread will be able to explain it better for you: http://www.minecraft...d-topic-system/

Ok.. So I guess that the "cookie based system" only works on one computer at a time? Thanks for your time answering my question, I appreciate it.

We have that feature disabled on this forum for the most part. There is some slight functionality but it runs on cookies IIRC

What do you mean by slight functionality?

It's probably just me being silly, but I can't figure out how to get the forum to remember what posts I have viewed when viewing from different computers. I have cookies enabled, and I frequent other forums that run the same software (IP.Board) and have never had this problem before.. It's kind of a pain as I can read while at work, but then when I get home it doesn't know what I've already read. I really hope it's not a "premium feature".

    Anyone have any advice?

I thought it would be really cool to stick jack-o-lanterns around the outside of the fence of our shared SMP house.. What's worse is how long it took me to figure out "how the heck that darn creeper got in here and blew up part of the house!"....

You must do a heck of a lot more mining than me then because I have stacks of gravel and no flint because I've used it all making flipping arrows which have then all been used up.

You know that you can "re-mine" your gravel and get more flint right? You can convert it all to flint if you go at it long enough.

Yes, but by "around for a while" I mean around for long enough for nearly everybody to know by now.

Well I was sure thankful for all that minecraft knowledge my brain pulled out of the ether before I started playing it.. What is wrong with this OP? Psychic transference broken? Is that a form of LD?
