It's been a long time since I've hung out on this forum, but I always remember that being a really happy time. A time when I was head-over-heels in love with Minecraft and just beginning to explore the PC indie game community.
Well fast-forward about a decade and here we are. I've never stopped gaming (in fact, it's only ramped up lol). I've become a top reviewer on Steam with over 600 quality reviews of largely indie games. And just this May I've entered into a partnership with a senior indie game dev and we've created our own game, which is the reason for this post.
The Minecraft community was always (and I'm sure still is) a very creative bunch. Perhaps some of you may be interested in a sandboxy painting game. There are RPG leveling up elements, as well as idle-clicker elements.
I wanted to drop a small thread here to share that creation with you - this community may have some interest. The game is called The Painter's Playground. And it's a sandbox for 2D artists. There is an online component where you can buy, sell, and 'like' other's artwork. All of the backgrounds were painted by hand. We are in beta now, and there are still a few features on the way such as Daily Challenges, and Leaderboards. There is a whole collection/curation aspect as well.
Here is our Itch.io page where you can download the demo (full beta version) for free, or if you want to support us you can pay and receive a Steam key upon full launch (Steam page coming late next week, but it won't release until full launch which will be early January 2018, if not sooner):
You can find a trailer there, but here is a sample of a great 2D piece of art. This is a beautiful piece of art a friend made:
Alright, well thank you very much for reading. I always appreciated this forum and the community. I hope you are all keeping Minecraft very much alive:)
Best to all of you,
