posted a message on Append Item Names with ID in Hotbar

Hmm I'm thinking about doing a mod for a simple project to help with my computer science class, and also to reintroduce myself to Minecraft modding (something I haven't done for 3 years probably). I will look into this, shouldn't be too hard, just adding id's to name. If someone else does it for you first, sorry I took so long! I think maybe a week from me, could be less, but I don't want to set the bar high.

minecraft pc will work as it always has, its not dependant on the OS, updating your computer to windows 10 will not effect how minecraft and mods etc will run

Yeah listen to this guy here. I totally misread your question, so excuse my comment.

Do they hand out moderator tags for free now? I mean there is literally a post about it not even half way down the page: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/support/minecraft-windows-10-edition/2498424-how-to-get-severs-on-mw10e

posted a message on One Very Important Question.

There might be some hack or workaround that someone is able to incorporate but mostly, no. The Minecraft Win10 Edition is and functions the same way any app from an app store works, be it phone, tablet, etc. The folders for apps are on lockdown and currently there isn't a way to gain access to change any files whatsoever. Win10 Edition is, right now, like the mobile versions/console versions. So I wouldn't expect anything like mods.

posted a message on What's your favorite fitness wearable and least favorite?

I love my Garmin Vivofit 1 w/ heartbeat sensor I got a few days ago. It has my solid recommendation! The heartbeat sensor is a bit weird (it straps below your sternum), but I am still getting used to it (I'm also overweight so it could be that as well). I give it a 9/10 mainly because the total step count can be off by around 100-200 steps a day, but I do also go to school and often carry books, etc. that could possibly shift it in this direction.

NOTE THIS IS QUITE OLD, I'M NOT SURE IF ANY HAS CHANGED: I advise you stay away from the Nabu X, I was one of the people who got it beta in Wave 2 (or three, can't remember), and for me it was absolutely terrible. The app was bad, the step counter would either not work or produce weird results, I basically wore it for a few weeks as a notification band (it was okay with this, but still terrible at the same time, vibrations were usually right when notif happened, but lights wouldn't always be in sync). The device was trash and I'm glad I only payed $30 for getting it early.

posted a message on Skin Packs - A way to access them?

You can access them via C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_0.12.2.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\data\images\mob or similar (if there is a newer version).

If you've never accessed the WindowsApps folder you can look at this tutorial here: http://superuser.com/questions/498774/how-to-get-access-to-c-program-files-windowsapps-in-windows-8 (look at first answer)

NOTE: You CAN'T edit the files directly, but you can copy the images and use them as a custom skin in-game. You can't edit files because the permissions for WindowsApps is view only, you can't even copy files into any of the apps files, this is for obvious security reasons (texture mods for multiplayer, and general protections for other games as well).

Quick edit: those skins specifically are in mobs\skins\CityFolk or mobs\skins\TownFolk

posted a message on What games are you going after this year?

The new Star Fox (of course?) and No Man's Sky. Unfortunately I won't be buying any Nintendo products as they contain very little games I like to play so hopefully I can play Star Fox at a friend's. And I'm going to be buying a PS4 for Fallout and No Man's Sky (and don't hate me for it, but probably CoD, I love multiplayer and CoD has it in the shortest doses!)

posted a message on How will the steam controller work?

Ok I'm not sure if you can google or not but here it is directly from Steam on the Steam Controller pre-order page (http://store.steampowered.com/app/353370/ )

    Overview
    • ...
    • USB 2.0 via Micro USB port (cable not included)

Meaning using any standard Micro USB cable (if you don't know what this is, they are the kind of cables used by Android phones, among various other electronics). Obviously cable not included, but you can pick these cords up very cheap at a local store (go for one between $4-6 USD, for best quality, and don't buy anything over $10 USD, that is too expensive unless you're buying a long cable).

    In-box
    • ...
    • USB wireless pairing dongle

So a wireless adapter will be shipped with it!

Have a good time with your controller!

posted a message on If you're getting 0x803F7000 try seeing if your Microsoft account needs verified

Coming back after quite a few years of not posting to say after sitting waiting for technical support for around 3 hours I finally got to this conclusion.

The easiest way to see if you need to verify is to look at the bottom right of your task bar for the 'Action Center' icon, it will be right next to time/date most likely and looks like a message icon. There may be a message saying "Your account needs validated" or something along those lines, if its there click that and it will take you to your account settings.

If you don't see a message there go to Settings > Accounts >Your Account and look for something that says "Verify your account".

If you don't see either your account is verified and something else is wrong. You can try Windows key + r and type in WSReset.exe, which will reset your windows store (more like a refresh, all settings, etc. stay the same), or rebooting device.

In closing if nothing here works go to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus# , click "Services and apps", on the window that pops up select "Windows" > "Technical Support" > "Chat online with a Microsoft Answer Tech".
