that is exactly what i was thinking. if the minecraft rift starting version came with super hd shaders and smart moving mod i wouldn't be able to tell if life or minecraft was real.
I don't think I'll ever forget that Minecraft is reality, and I don't use shaders or mods.

Call me a pessimist but I just don't see this oculus rift VR gimmick going very far. I wish it didn't because it really looks cool but do you think it will be widely used? Be honest with yourself. How many people will say "Yeah games on monitors are cool but let me try this rift that makes it about a million times harder to control a game and for some people probably causes headaches and sickness after playing for longer than an hour". It might not be completely forgotten by everyone in the next couple of years like piece of human %$@# virtual boy was but I'm giving it a 1% chance that it will actually catch on and become recognized as a way to play games. This and the effort required to make games adaptable to play them on it too will makes game companies not want to do it, because... why the hell would they waste human resources on something like that.
Because it's cool.
Pessimist.

Animated spider eye, occasionally looking around, squirming and wriggling, as if it was still alive.

Thanks in advance if you give it a shot, and if you don't, I understand and thank you for your time reading this.
Good luck,

EDIT:
Just please remember that I'm only doing single blocks. Not mobs, whole texture packs, etc. Only blocks. Maybe a tool from time to time if you're special enough, but yeah.
Oh, didn't see that at first. Sorry! I'd imagine a spider eye would be simpler than a tool, but am not an expert, and don't know if I count as "special" enough for that big of a rule-bending. If you can, thank you, and that helps a lot.

Dang it! Back to server hunting I guess!

Mcedited things count as vanilla, as no modifications to the game itself are made. (External world editor, not a plugin)

It sure does! Any undead!
In the maps I saw with "friendly" undead, they used slowness, weakness, or a combination. This uses a new attribute modifier system to decrease follow radius, meaning they will wander around, but not chase or attack. It also uses carpets as a nice aesthetic "collar". I agree it would be nice to do in legitimate gameplay, but it is not possible as of yet to my knowledge.

Thanks!
Thank you!
More detailed? how so?
You are aware the "collars" are carpet blocks put on it's head using MCedit filters right?
