I am not trying to rain on your parade, but I think you really need a reality check. According to the wiki (need verification) minecraft's "infinite map" is really only useable within 32 MILLION blocks of the spawn. That means the world is 2.8 QUADRILLION (2,800,000,000,000,000) blocks or 28 TRILLION kilometers squared. Now the EARTH'S surface area is only 510 MILLION kilometers squared, so the minecraft world is 5 MILLION times bigger than earth!!!!! Putting that into chunks it is 11 TRILLION chunks. So if you only spent one second working on each chunk it would still take 180 BILLION hours to cover the whole world. And now if you had a 4 million people playing minecraft working on it, each person would have to spend 45000 hours, or 5 YEARS working in it non stop.

So moral of the story is, give yourself a reachable goal. Find a seed with a good big island and colonize that. You could still even try to do the whole map if you really want to, you just won't be able to do it, period.

What version of Minecraft are you running? What version of a Minecraft Server are you running? Sounds like an incompatibility to me.

    Everything should be 1.0

I am not playing on the same computer I am hosting on. They use the same network though.

    Preferences where? Host or client?

:biggrin.gif: Try a new server, every time you stop the server do the command save-all and then stop.

Im not sure I understand what you are suggesting.

    Quote from awesomelycool

when that happens restart your client if that does not work restart the server i use to have the same problem

I tried restarting my client but it is still not working. And I don't want to have to keep restarting the server as it would interrupt my friends.

So just last night I set up a server for me and my friends. It is working perfectly for them but when I try to log in it says "Connection lost. Server responded with an invalid server key" Sometimes it will work though. I am not sure why this is happening. I am playing on a different computer than I am hosting on, the host is a dell and I play on an iMac. Any suggestions?

posted a message on Making SSP World Into Server
I want to make a server for me and my friends. I have done lots or research and know mostly what to do. However I am not sure how to (if it is even possible) have my server essentially be my current SSP world. It is a little hard to explain but pretty much just want the server to start with my SSP world the way it currently is (with my house etc) so we can build from there. I have spent several months on it and I would like to not have to start over with the new server. If there was some way I could just like give the server the world save to use or something. If it really isn't possible though I can use mcedit to just copy and paste all of my stuff into the server. Though it would be a huge pain and just wouldn't be the same. Can anyone help me?

posted a message on Do you consider MCEdit "Cheating"?
I use it but I don't think it is cheating. It is an awesome tool that helps me do things and build things that would normally either be impossible or take forever. If I want to move my castle to the other side of the desert to make room for a new one, I want to be able to do that. If you consider that cheating fine but I don't.

Assuming you want a flush floor like CNB showed it.
To merge double block swappers into a two wide trap door is slightly more bulky indeed:

Just fixed my solution (original post on reddit) to work with the changed redstone rules of 1.0.0, here's a schematic (that also includes a flush front door you can get rid of if you want).

I'll write a more detailed post the next days - after I took care of some more stairs :wink.gif:

That is awesome man! Unfortunately my computer doesn't seem to be able to read that schematic. Could you link the world save?

posted a message on Help building double wide hidden stairs
I want to build a set double wide of hidden piston stairs, but I can't figure out how. I have seen several tutorials for one block wide stairs but I want one that is two blocks wide (simply for ascetics). I tried making my own set of stairs by changing cnbminecraft's version but I can't get it all compact enough. But am still relative beginner with redstone so I am sure an expert could do it. Anybody know how to build one or knows a tutorial on how?
    Thanks for the help.
