The permit system: The reason we have permits is to prevent citizens and optimates from doing all of the work. By people like me, being forced to employ employees to gain the most money, creates a flow of cash. If I could just do all my production myself, with no requirements for staff, there would be much less money going around to other people in the empire.
The navy is there to protect the citizens. Can you honestly tell me, what good nation would not train up its warriors, and when the need be to defend the cities, the inexperienced soldiers would crumble like leaves before the wind?
Orders.. yes, well, you could go, get a permit for mining, and sell stuff to people like me, but where's your guaranteed wage? I pay my employees a certain wage, where you will gain more for working more. I give my employees a lot of leeway, if you want to farm, farm from my fields, want to mine, afk on my cobble generators (best way for your to gain money), want to kill, get me string, ill pay you handsomely.
The Optimates don't have that much extra power. We vote on laws, that's all we do currently. That will be the job of the senators once they are elected. The emperor sets restriction on things, such as a out of place dirt house in the middle of the city is off limits.

Just a thought, capitalism isn't just an economic system it's a social system as well, where the means of production are controlled by capital (wealth), capitalism also entails absolute respect of private property. Some of the things your "empire" represents are absolutely incompatible with capitalism.
Your system puts way too much power into the hands of governors optimates, and the emperor especially. In a capitalist society, absolute power lies in the hands of the market (not the bureaucracy) and consequently the people of the empire.
The society you've created (especially with the creation of a separate capitalist class) is more reminiscent of syndicalism, and mercantilism, in planned economies in the 1800's.
It's thrilling to take part in a market based society within a videogame, one with a thriving economy. However it's not so fun to take orders from an "Empire" when you just want to build cool stuff with other people.

At max* Don't need people picking all of them xD. Defeats the purpose.

This is a message for ALL people who wish to apply. You must know how occupation advancement works (Read the first page, you will learn it at some point), and you must choose atleast 1 permit, at a max of 5 (It has been updated, unlike the post). Unless you want to stand there and not legally be able to farm, kill animals, get wood, all that fun stuff, I recommend getting permits. Also, a note, I am employing people with farming permits to farm potatoes for me, at 162 Dinar/double chest, (20%), mine cobblestone from a generator at 324 Dinar/double chest (about 25%, but you supply your own tools) and 2025 Dinars for a double chest of string (No strings attached... pun intended).

Neu Hofheim am Wertesee
Hey fellow imperials
As some of you know, I have been busy at setting up a farm down in the south of the country, Now after a while I started to work on an idea of building some houses for workers (which i would hire) to work on my farm. After talking with Spencer for a few minutes I came up with the idea of setting up a town here instead, So this is what I'm doing.
I currently have only my own farm and 1 house build, the one of Acehard and I will continue building houses here.
I will set up a basic layout of how the town will look from above and I'll try to make it as nice as possible.
Now you might start thinking:
Why would I set up a town near my farm while Origo isn't set up yet?
Well good question.
As some of you know people need to build up Origo which actually is also a bit my job only I have a little problem.
I live around 1000 blocks away from Origo so it isn't that easy to just go to my home, get the resources, go back and work on the buildings again.
The second bigger problem I have found is that Origo is not progressing at all in the way of buildings.
Just one building excists and is being extended each time. And if you compare it to my farm, I keep growing slowly but steady, Now with a small bit of the farm done and the first house done for a citizen I do like to keep going with building up more houses near me. I already have set a certain design for my area and want to keep it to my area aswell, Don't want to mix it up with the style in Origo.
Now that you know why, Let me explain how you can get such a house near/at my farm (Neu Hofheim am Wertesee)
Well As you can see if you are at my farm, I don't make small things in building-wise here.
I'd like to go with decent sized houses where you have enough room to do your things. Store, sleep, craft or stand afk. You could even make your shop in the ground floor for example and live up stairs, there is enough room.
The design:
Well design wise you notice that I have chosen for just a bit more then the usual buildings with 1 block thick walls, mine are at least 3 blocks thick with on the outside 1 block extra to give it a little more depth and neat looking touch to it. Second to that, if I build the house on a slope I will make a foundation for it. Nothing will make the houses fell over with such a solid foundation.
Now how have I made the foundations? is there space in them?
Well I'm not investing time and resources to fill the empty spaces up under neath, instead I use torches to light it up so no mobs will spawn. but this kinda allows you to say that you want a basement and yes, it is possible. there should be enough space you make your own basement, size and all but just remember a few things. Don't make it too deep, don't make a mine in the basement or a farm. This is prohibited and if seen, they will be destroyed without notification. There is 1 rule as well about the exterior of the house, Please do not edit it without asking, I'd like to know if you want to have an extension to your house and we can see how it's going to look and if you like it. Well enough about the design, now onto the next topic.
How do you acquire such a house?
Well, As you can see with these houses, I invest a lot of materials in it and a lot of time in it as well. Remember: Each house will be unique and I'll design every house in it's own way. No house will be the same.
So I have set a price currently of 1000 Imps for it. I know what you are thinking right now, "1000 imps"!?!
Yes 1000 indeed. To the one person it might sound cheap but for the other actually pretty expensive. but this is done to encourage you to take a step into the economy.
Let me explain it a bit more:
You have a couple of ways to pay those 1000 imps:
1. The first way is to simply pay me 1000 imps for the house, pretty simple.
2. The second way however is a little bit different from the first, If you don't have enough money at first you can pay me the price in multiple parts, (example: Pay 250 first, once you have the money pay another 250 until you paid all the 1000 imps) Then the house will be yours.
3. But there is a third way, You come and work for me for 15 real hours and do what ever job I assign to you. Might be that you are working on the farm, harvesting crops, cutting wood or playing with the cattle but it also might be that I assign you the role of a miner to get me the materials I need to build. You may keep 25% of the goods you mine so you don't end up with nothing after you stopped working for the house. Same goes with all the other jobs applied to you.
Now it might be that after you paid for the house with working for me you still want to stay working for me, well this way we will talk about a salary, You will get paid for the things you do aside of still getting at least 15% of the goods you mine/harvest.
And at the end, remember once the houses are getting bigger/nicer the price may go up, but they can also get lower. then I will update this topic to notify you of how much hours you will have to work for me for that amount of imps. (price).
What can I do when I don't work for you?
Well, you may decide that yourself. It might be that other companies are not that far away from the town and are looking for employees or you can start your own as soon you have the required title of Tradesman.
Also just take note that I will be building everything here and sadly but true, I do not allow people to build here on my land,
the peninsula:
The land for the town:
And just a bit outside the marked lines, just leave space for further development.
Hope I informed you enough about Neu Hofheim am Wertesee, if not don't be afraid to ask!
I want to hear your question!

I apologize for not getting back to you my good man, but things have been pretty busy around here of late (IRL). In any event, when I ask about "occupation" I am asking what you would like to be, not necessarily what general area you want to start in. Please choose between one of the following for that section
Worker
Miner
Farmer
After you have made that edit, I can accept you.

My O my, things have been pretty busy here in the Grand Spencorian Empire of late. Buildings are rising, cities are being founded (and expanded), a whole new slew of folks have arrived from foreign lands to join the Empire, people are advancing in rank, Spencorian territory has expanded, and Imperial edicts are to be issued! So many things to talk about! And so I shall begin.
Buildings:
The Frothy Creeper: Currently under construction in the old port district of the Capital of Novus Mores, this tavern is planned to be the center of merriment in the Empire as people from across Spencoia gather for a hearty tankard of ale!
The Courthouse and Museum of Novus Mores: Also under construction, these new structures are meant to be additions to the Imperial legal and cultural system established, and are being constructed by our very own, Optimate FabulousPholem.
More Rail Lines: Another rail line is being made from the Grand Rail-station of the Empire (located in the south of Novus Mores) and will be directly connected to Tel Naahan, the towering home of Fabulous Pholem and the single tallest structure in all of Halentra.
The Mighty Road: A long and large bridge has been constructed by out very own governor and Optiamte, Doomscape, that finally links Novus Mores to its nearby sister city of Nova Hierosalem. This bridge is the largest bridge structure in all of Halentra, and will soon be the most beautiful.
The Spencorian National Bank: This structure, just beside the capital building to the south, is the building that holds the first centralized bank of Spencoria. Running low on cash and don't mind taking out a loan? Stop by and get a loan for 5 Imps!
Capital Building: This structure is, actually, the oldest structure within the entire city. However! A recent addition to the building has doubled its size and will soon hold conference rooms and other functions in the days and weeks to come.
Cities:
No new cities yet, but both the cities of Loritum and Nova H. have expanded significantly since last time and update was issued of their progress.
New Folks:
New people! Indeed it is always a glad tiding to see that new people have found their way from wanton shores onto the golden beaches of the Grand Spencorian Empire. Within the last few days, we have met a few new friendly faces!

Welcome all of you to the Grand Spencorian Empire! We expect great things of our citizens, and I am sure that you will not disappoint us.
Rank Advancements:
Some in the Empire have risen through the ranks and advance far enough to achieve the next level of development for Spencorian peoples! Those lucky folks are:
Spacekitsh: Was a Farmer, now a Tradesperson
Blazenparkour: Was an Industrialist, is now a Capitalist
Gigabytegaming (formerly named Pick) : Was a worker, is now an Industrialist
Congratulations! Your continued loyalty and devotion to the Empire shall not be forgotten so easily!
Now, onto some of the more political bits of the Grand Spencorian Empire.

So things have been relatively hectic recently. In recent days, Guy1963 has formed a terrorist organization known as the "Caliphate". This organization has aimed for the "end of all Empires". Seeing as how they have no where near achieved this one goal, I wish them the best of luck. Within the organization itself, the members that are presently known by the state and all state are as follows
Guy1963
Kumat

If any Imperial or any of her allies comes into contact with any of these people, you are ordered to eliminate them at all costs.
Onto cheerier news!
City development has been going extremely well as the city of Loritum and the (now) city of Nova Hierosolyma are rising quickly.
In Loritum, one will find the foundations of a beautiful city with rolling pastures and great fields adorning the countryside. Homes and grain silos act as the now small pocket of Spencorian civilization in this growing metropolis. This area is also home to the foremost economic and industrial theorists of our time: Governor Iblyth and Mr. Kill2Blit.
In Nova Hierosolyma, one will find a vast desert of endless golden sands, upon which terraces have risen and a city bursting forth from them like water from a well. Along the coast of this city, one can see the Great Lighthouse of Hierosolyma with a beacon adorning its inner sanctum. To the west lie one of the greatest building projects in all of the Empire, the Great Library, soon to be finished by Governor Doom.
To the south of the Empire, bordering Lithlandia, a great and monumental castle has been erected for the nations to marvel at.More images of this fortress will be shown later along with images of the aforementioned cities.
That is all for now my Spencorian folk!
All Hail the Empire!

My friends, you both seem like very capable and worthy individuals. However, I do ask that you please put a tad more thought into your applications. This is primarily towards Mr. Rednico6, however could apply to both. I have seen that you have been active in liking posts about the Empire and seem very interested and devoted to her ideals; thus in your loyalty, I trust that you will add more to the posts that you have supplied. This can be done as an edit to the ones already existing, or an entirely new one. Once you have made the edits, I can review your cases once again for possible accepting. Thank you gentlemen. All Hail the Empire.

Recently, the Grand Spencorian Empire has been the first nation on Halentra (that we know of) to have killed a whither officially. Upon procuring the necessary goods, Mr. Doom, Mr. Blazen, and Emperor Spencier gathered in a secret underground facility to prep for the impending storm that they would unleash. Questions arose as to where the beast should be unleashed. The desert? Underground? ON's capital? In the end, the materials for the beastly spawn of nature were sent deep into the Mines of Mores, far beneath the capital itself in a secure bunker. After preparation, the beast was unleashed. It was powerless before the three valiant fighters, adorned in the finest of Imperial armor and wielding the most adept of Imperial weaponry. The beast was slain shortly thereafter. Following, a mysterious crystal structure was uncovered from the remains of the beast. This structure was provided to Mr. Doom for research and scientific applications. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Doom had uncovered its advanced regenerative affects and stored it within a beacon to allow for all those near it to experience its effects. The resulting structure was placed within the light house of Nova Hayrusalum, a nearby settlement in the Province of Acer, for all to see and fell the seemingly mystical effects of. This only goes to show the world what the Empire is capable of doing in both short notice, and, in a relatively unprepared state.
The Lighthouse of Nova Hayrusalum
Mr. Doom beside his fantastical creations!

Recently applied updates to the forums page will show that the total territory of the Empire has expanded well to both the east and the west. This is primarily on account of the birth of one large settlement in the Province of Acer, and one still developing city in the Province of Ebene. More settlements are under consideration as well presently to be made in the Provinces of Saxum, Recht, and Holz. These new settlements have yet to break ground, but likely shall glide to great heights following the first block placed! More detailed information regarding what has been going on these past few days will be relayed at a later time, likely either later today or tomorrow itself. In any event, thank you all and (like always)
All Hail the Empire!
