I'd like to feel some sort of sympathy in regards to all the outrageous hub-bub regarding the closure of the random chat and furry threads, but I really can't. Neither thread was a necessity to have (especially the chit-chat one), and either thread could potentially be made again, and made better this time.

And to be perfectly frank, if you're coming to a message board clearly focused primarily on Minecraft, and you spend all of your time here in the OT forum in a single chit chat thread anyway... should the admins/mods/anyone in particular really care if you don't come back or whatever it is you're up in arms about?

<insert mod/admin name here> "Hmm. Looks like we've lost a contributor 4,000 posts... to a single thread about nothing. Better just shut down this whole site now. It's clearly no longer useful or popular or needed."

What are you going to really say? "I won't recommend this board to my friends since you won't let me talk about nothing of consequence!" ...

SERIOUSLY. You guys are getting your panties in a twist because a mod closed a thread that had tons of idle chatter that amounted to nothing but a) RIDICULOUS TWEEN DRAMA or :cool.gif: "HI! JUST CHECKING IN TO LET EVERYONE THAT I'M GOING TO BED!" and that makes ez an internet fascist? Why don't you guys just... download skype or AIM or something? Or failing that, use livejournal or some equivalent? lol god this isn't rocket science.

So I guess were talking about the noise that a cliff racer makes.

Why? Why do you do that?

You always state obvious things long after they've begun or ended.

    ...
    Snoozle's a girl?

You know, I don't think I've ever been on a forum or website where people didn't initially think I was a guy. ...That's it, I'm gonna start 'shopping big pink hair ribbons into my avatars now, with the text "the ladiest of ladies" underneath them.

having dealt with supercreeps before, yeah, I don't think every weird kid is a psychotic gun toting loon in the making. :\ Though I missed the part about you rejecting him multiple times, eesh.

So there is this really creepy guy in my school who likes me. I've had to reject him probably over five or six times the past two or three weeks, and he's freaking me out.

He stares at me with these little beady eyes...just staring...deeply into my soul. With an emotionless face and the hint of a smile on his face.
He keeps touching me with these grubby, moist hands. He won't stop rubbing my back or snuggling up against me.
He doesn't bathe. His hair is all messy and he smells like sauteed onions that have been left outside in the hot sun for a day.
He keeps trying to guilt-trip me into going out with him by saying stuff like, "Oh, I bet I don't mean anything to you anymore," and "I don't like coming to school because it reminds me of when you rejected me."
HE HAS BEEN TRYING TO CONVINCE MY TEACHERS TO LET HIM BE IN MY CLASSES FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR.

    What should I do?

the responsible answer is TELL A COUNSELOR ASAP, this guy sounds like bad times
the answer you know deep in your heart to be the right one is PUBLICLY SHAME HIM

posted a message on Anyone know of some decent webcomics?
    Lotsa good suggestions here!

EVERYTHING EVAN DAHM OR KC GREEN make: aaaaa so good. It may seem kind of weird to lump them together, but they both create really evocative artwork. Everything KC Green draws makes you feel like you're in the middle of a rainstorm, I LOVE IT.

Platinum Grit: I think it's on hiatus right now, but this is a pretty nice book-format comic (though the online viewer shows you the pages panel-by-panel) about an awkward genius and the ladies in his life. And a host of bizarre stuff! I like reading through the old issues since the artist has improved so much since the start, it's quite inspiring. :smile.gif:

Girl Genius: I only STARTED reading this a while back, and kept losing my place so I'm probably going to start over again. I REALLY REALLY wish they hadn't colored the older pages. My reservations about the way the artist draws faces aside, they were really stunning in black and white and just kind of... gradienty now. But it's all good fun, this comic.

String Theory: MAD SCIENCE and nice artwork that kind of embraces the best of both worlds, as far as realism and cartoony-ness goes.

Scary Go Round: hijinks! A gigantic cast of characters! Like all of these other comics it's continuity-heavy, but it made me giggle on a pretty consistent basis.

I am sure there are more. I CAN NEVER REMEMBER WHICH WEBCOMICS I READ whenever anyone posts one of these threads, HOW CONVENIENT.

I'll go all out and say, just having humans as a dominant species is rather boring.

It's always been an interest to me of that, what would Earth be like with multiple dominant species. Would there be more diversity. Would people be happier, or would there be more violence, more racism?

having multiple dominant species would be a disaster! maybe there would be less violence/racism among ourselves, but it would be focused on the other species. its good that we had this time to mature as a species (not to say we are not done maturing, there is still a great deal of religious intolerance.)

oh god, I can only imagine the cluster****s that would arise in the anthropological world, holy ****. LET'S ANALYZE THIS CULTURE WITH AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT BRAIN STRUCTURE, THIS WILL TURN OUT WELL
