posted a message on [SOLVED] KeyBinding ModLoader Help Request
    Solved:
    Apparently you use setInGameHook(this, true, false);
then in onTickInGame have an if statement for myKeyBinding.pressed

    Question:
I've found numerous tutorials but alas cannot make a keybinding in ModLoader that is sensitive to when the key is held, not pressed. I basically have a function that I want to be active whenever the key is being pressed and inactive when it's released.

Does anyone know a way of getting a keyboard Event when a KeyBinding is released?

renderItemInFirstPerson in ItemRenderer. It also calls renderFirstPersonArm in RenderPlayer which renders the arm.

posted a message on Where is the player arm/current item displayed?
I'm currently working on a mod (obviously) where while a certain key is pressed and a particular item is held, the mouse, instead of rotating the player's view, will move (eventually the player's arm with) the item around the screen.

I'm looking for the place in the code where the item is displayed in the bottom left corner so I can modify it. Any ideas?

P.S. If you have any other better suggestions to how I'm doing this - I decided not to make this a new GUI when the key is held, rather it will be the normal GUIIngame and the arm around the screen.

I'm trying to play deep space turtle chase but it won't work!!! I have beta 1.8.1 and whenever I start the map and open the door at the start my game freezes and I can't close it!! Is there something I'm doing wrong on the installation or what? Please help!!!! :steve_tearful:

Obviously it's a bit late to answer this, but whatever! XD

I had this problem too. Basically it's missing some of the core minecraft sounds (door open, walk sounds) that won't even get fixed by not installing the sound mod. All you have to do is turn your sound all the way off the first thing you do when you get into the map. You'll have to play without sound, but it's better than not playing at all!

    Got another here for everyone

    Seed: Minecraft1.3.1Yay
    (Large Biomes)

This is the largest desert I've seen yet. Not only is it big, it houses over 30 villages and over 45 temples. Unfortunately, you spawn in an ice biome nearby, but it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Just head south east (larger X and Z values) through a taiga and you'll hit the south-west tip of it. It's sort of shaped like an X. You can find some jungles at the top of it, as well near (6000, -2000). The one to the east of that point is nearly as big as the desert, with just as many temples.

Oh, if you go to the nether, check out the following locations for holds (near the iceland spawn):
    (64, -96) (-80, 368) (128, 592) (896, 80)

    Remember to comment!

I figured since a compliation hasn't been out quite yet I'd post one here.

    Seed: -918382070
    (Large Biomes)

You will spawn in a desert that is completely full of temples and villages. I count up to 9 desert villages and 19 temples. Some coordinates are as follows for those who don't like to just look around:

    Villages: (656, 1024) (816, 1632) (704, 560)
    Temples: (512, 1344) (1104, 1104) (1056, 1760) (880, 1680)

Nearly every one of the villages have a "paired" temple at most 150 blocks away from it.

Heading south and to the east (greater X and Z values) will put you in a smaller jungle, but full none the less. No villages obviously, but 3 temples:

    Temples: (1344, 2384) (1728, 1600) (2192, 1824)

    Biome Layout:
You'll spawn in the desert (probably in hills). This can be followed northwest (smaller X and Z values) all the way to the ocean, and continue in that same direction to hit a mushroom island after about 1500 blocks.
Heading north and a little bit east (Lower Z, Greater X) will set you in a swamp. Continue north to get the biggest forest you'll need. Come here for wood, or to the taiga biome directly opposite (larger Z, smaller X) which is about as big as the jungle. If you want another desert, cross the jungle into a Extreme Hills (You might hit a swamp along the way) and keep going. You'll get there.

    Strongholds: (All in the starting desert!) (-112, 960) (-592, -304) (560, -240)

Oh, if you go to the nether, check out the following locations for holds:
    (1344, 1184) (416, 1616) (400, 1424) (368, 1152)

    --------

    Seed: 404Ever
    (Default)

This one's nice if you want a sample of each of the new structures, while still getting a variety of biomes to keep you non-bored. Literally the layout here is (from west to east) Jungle w/ temple, desert w/ temple, river, desert w/ village, jungle w/ temple. Heading north or south will put you into a mix of swamps and plains, with an extreme hills to the south east. Remember, due to the fact it's on default, there's little villages and temples to see.

Oh, if you go to the nether, check out the following locations for holds:
    (128, 320) (160, 80) (-144, 176)

    --------

    Seed: minecraftrules
    (Large Biomes)

While it's set to large biomes, this one is something else. The desert you spawn in has it's share of villages and temples, but only is about 1000 blocks wide and 400 tall. (You'll see 4000 block ones on large biomes.)
Directly south puts you into a swampland with nothing but a stronghold at (160, 848).
Head southwest to the jungle. 13 temples in this one, but it's quite spread out. An extra desert can be found about 500 blocks south and a good 2000 blocks to the west, if need be.

    Villages: (-320, 160) (32, 160) (80, -160) (640, 128)
    Desert Temples: (128, 96) (608, 288)
    Strongholds: (Swampland: 160, 848) (Underwater: -736, -320) (Underwater: 736, -544)

Oh, if you go to the nether, check out the following locations for holds:
    (-336, 80) (-352, -128) (-160, -384) (176, -384) (320, -416) (368, -128) (640, -160)

    --------

    Seed: Dragons
    (Large Biomes)

A desolate land with long-lost temples. There's barely any villages in this one, but it's nice for a quick view for the temples. A jungle and desert are small and back to back here:

    Desert temples at (256, 1072) and (0, 800). Jungle Temple at (832, 752). Stronghold at (-192, 1024).

Oh, if you go to the nether, check out the following locations for holds:
    (-96, 1088) (-112, 928) (128, 864) (112, 1088)

    --------

For additional seeds, I highly recommend trying out the third-party program AMIDST. It maps out biomes and landmarks for you nicely with any seed, or directly from a save file you're playing on.

If you find any more EXCEPTIONAL seeds to be added to the list, just give a comment below.

If I've helped you at all, drop a comment or hit the 1up button down in the bottom right. It really helps.

    Thanks!

Theres a problem with the program, I open up a level.dat file from MC 1.3 prerelease and nothing show up. Any ideas? And my java is currently up to date V7.0.50.5 on window vista 64bit

also having issues in the 1.3 pre-release. both from file and from seed will not work for me. no indication that the program is even attempting work when i go through these options.

note: same result on the week 30e snapshot didn't try the others

    Quote from Andreas90s

Minecraft 1.3.1 and it didn't show nothing.

When loading a level.dat it is blank.

Since I have the same problem and just three posts on this page don't get an error log out, here you are, Skidoodle:

(I'm just typing some of the top of each error, the entire stack trace is enormus and I can't copy and paste out of Command Prompt)
right when you open you get:
    java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 1
    ... at MoF.FinderWindow.loadMinecraft(FinderWindow.java:524
    ...

then when I try a seed in the latest update of this:
    java.lang.NullPointerException
    ...
    at Mof.ChunkManager.<init><ChunkManager.java:36>
    ...
(lots of java events you don't need since its not your code...)
    ...
    Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.NullPointerException
    at MoF.MapGenStronghold.a(MapGenStronghold.java:28
    at MoF.ChunkManager.<init><ChunkManager.java:81>
    ...
    (more java stuff)

if you really want the entire stack trace, you can pm me or even just try using a seed on default or largebiomes in Amidst v2.0.36

Thanks for making this program, though. I love it a lot.

posted a message on MCP Mac OSX error
Mods Discussion didn't seem appropriate for this topic seeing as most of the topics in there are asking for help on specific mods.

I've started various mods and just left on vacation, but wanted to keep working. I found this old mac my dad had a while ago and it looked good. Started setting up mcp and was successful on installing eclipse and jdk. However, when I ran decompile.sh it gave me:

    == MCP 6.2 (data: 6.2, client: 1.2.5, server: 1.2.5) ==
    > Searching for javac in /usr/bin
    !! javac check FAILED !!
Command '"/usr/bin/javac" -version' returned non-zero exit status 2

I've investigated and found that /usr/bin does contain javac, jar, java and all those commands that come with jdk, so jdk is installed correctly. I've searched google and found a single youtube comment without any replies and a topic on this from windows which was solved with "you don't have jdk", which I do. I've tried joining the irc esper channel, but it's acting weirdly for me, so I came here.

Please don't respond with single-sentence answers that probably won't help anyways, tell me to install jdk, or respond if you have no knowledge of mac os x and are a completely windows programmer.

Thanks, in advance, for your help!

    -EDIT:
Ah! It also occured to me to try the command javac -version just now. This is what I get:

    javac -version
    javac 1.5.0_30
    javac: no source files
    Usage: javac <options> <source files>
    where possible options include:

    posted a message on [16x] [1.2.5] Maricraft! A mario-themed texture pack. [WIP]
    Quote from McKnackus

I don't see too much of a mario theme here except for the chests, noteblocks, bricks, TNT, and flowers, but it looks better than some Mario themed texture packs that tend to try and replicate the Super Mario World sprites, which, let's be honest, look pretty bad.

You aren't taking into account the mushrooms in nearly every Mario game out there, the rails to match mariocart, the koopa shells, piranha plants, and quite a few other items and GUI things not shown here. It's more Mario than you think, but thanks anyways for the response! We'll work more on the theme in mobs and items for future updates!

posted a message on Mod Idea - Armor Durability Gadge
Nice idea! I'm still experimenting with gui's and things so I'm probably not going to be much help. However, one thing I can try to do is make it so your little armor bar you already have shows not just the strength of the type of the armor you wear, but also the durability, if you know what I mean.

    Best of luck!
